Sorry to bother you folks but I'm having a major problem with the acmlm board, not the user's... On my gateway 466Mhz I've been using that computer to read to the forum messages and post a few topics here and there last week on wednesday I tried to log on to acmlm board to read my messages and when I logged on it say's my IP address was banned for some reason I haven't done anything to make anybody mad or anything so I got on to my moms PC and used hers and everything seem's to be working just fine....also if I want to use the messageboard on my gateway I have to refresh the browser at least 7 times before it will let me log on..... can someone please tell me why this is happening to me for some odd reason ? |

You could have a similar IP address as someone else who IS IP banned or you are just flat out IP banned. I think it would be the first one though. | |||

If your ISP gave you or has a proxy you can use, try it. Most IPs are dynamic and change on every new session you connect to the Internet - but it might be a 'small' ranged ban (like the last three digits replaced with wildcards in ipban.dat) you unfortunately fell in. Like any admin can see, my IP address usually starts out with "145" mostly, when I'm using no proxy. When I switch to that (haven't done on that machine yet, but think will put it in), it begins with another series of numerals. A proxy server usually is a fully new IP address on the same host - if you get some proxy information you might try it - every browser enables you to use one, and it's not hard at all to set one up and done quickly. |
