.....Yay!

Granted, I agree that it shouldn't be easy to download all this stuff... but it is. Thank filesharing and BT for that. You can't resist.

The hell if I'm paying these kinds of prices. Isn't Trillian Pro 1.0 like 25 bucks? And it's a horribly buggy piece of crap.

I kinda find it ok to use for software over 200 US dollars... like flash.

For games, bleh. I'm not that cheap. (besides I currently have so many games to play now... so yeah )

Never used an crack expect for once in school... Keygen however.

Pssht. Ssst. Fffft. Yeah, I mean I'm really able to produce 6999 USD for Maya. It's so easy, and impossible to resist. Almost all my expensive software not included with that software bundle is cracked.

whoops, i accidentally clicked "what is this?". don't worry, i'm not missing THAT much brain material....

most of the major (I.E. $100+) software on my computer right now has either been cracked or paid for by school, then copied, so i can't complain. nobody would HAVE photoshop or flash or any of that good stuff, so.....yay for crack!......er...cracks

(sorry, had my mind on a different subject there)

Personally, I go after abandonware (obsolete software) for older windows and/or other OSes that can't run any form of modern software today, such as modern 32-bit programs not being able to run on the win32s subsystem in WFW311, or IE6 that's not compatible with 95.

In other words, I don't really have many illegal copies of modern up-to-date software, pretty much abandonware if you ask me. Plus it's better to pay for their software so the developers can improve their software, mainly because using illegal serial numbers, cracks, key generators and registration codes prevents developers from developing new software.

So basically, I pretty much hunt down abandonware for Win95/WFW311, but I rarely do now.

I'd use proprietary software most of the time (the other time, it's Windows). Simple as that. No proprietary = No need for cracks.

I do it. I'm tired of paying top price for games that turn out to be crap on a piece of plastic and I only play them a couple of times.
But there are always games that I do buy, just because I know they will be good. Like Doom 3.

I'd rather shell out my hard earned for an application I really need, but I gota admit with some of the larger ones, it's not really easy.

With a lot of smaller apps, they need to start releasing less crippled trial versions, and then maybe I wouldn't resort to cracks to see if the program has any potential.

Who doesn't use them?

I like simple No-CD cracks so I don't have to pull out my game discs everytime I want to play a game or something.

Lazy?
Sure.
But awesome?
Yes.

And I haven't met a person yet that has actually purchased Photoshop 7.0.

Of note regarding the overly priced software... I know that I can get CERTAIN products for up to 90% off as a student.

If I *could* get something like Office for $40-50, I would probably pay said price for it. But $400-500... Erm... I'm a *student*.

I have *no* problems with no-CD cracks BTW. They can be very useful at times.

I have Paint Shop Pro 7 and paid 99 Euro for it - it is worth for me and I'm very satisfied with that application. I don't have too much money, but I want have my stuff in original.
I prevent illegal copies, cracks and such. I got Windows XP for 80 Euro and I can go to windowsupdate or somewhere else without fearing to use a pirated copy or key

As for *cough* other *cough* stuff - I'd also go with abandonware and older (until N64-age only) ROMs, since I can't buy them anymore or some games don't work anymore- my FF3 US refused to work anymore, my original Japanese Rudra no Hihou kills all saves after shutdown (), so I'm using ZSNES and such. And of course I can rip sprites from that game - to change my custom title image regularly and such

But when I spend money something, it is simply far better to have an original CD or cart, you have the cover and since you spent a lot of money, you are proud about that

I don't need Photoshop CS, it might be the best program for editing and creating graphics, but PSP 7 can do it too for me, since I don't want to spend money on an overpriced product where it takes more time to load it then to paste and work on a screenshot or rip something using PSP7
It may not create things like my signature image (which was created by another user using Photoshop), but for my purposes it fits since about two years great

I think it's kind of pointless to pay hundreds of dollars for a program I'm only going to use a few times, like Flash. I downloaded and cracked Flash 5 because I needed to create an amazing intro for the Eskimo Deathmatch Finals (the precursor to Acmlm's Sim-Battles) several years ago, and the trial period wasn't nearly long enough to learn how to use and get a feel for the program. Why blow a paycheck or two on something I'm only going to use, like, twice a year, for strictly personal reasons?

I think more programs need longer trial periods, or less-restricted trial versions (what's the point of trying out a disk maintenance utility when it doesn't actually do anything to the disk, or only works on floppies?). I'd also like more companies to release free versions of their software for personal use that have most of the full version's features, but are missing a few key ones that commercial users would need (for example, a 3D rendering program could render at a maximum of 640x480 for home users, but go into the high thousands for professionals that need the extra detail for printed materials or movies/TV). Lower price tags on most programs would also be nice. (Is Windows XP Pro really worth $300 to the average user?)

Yay, I almost crack every program, that is to expensive for me, but when I got enough money and I want that game or software, I buy it, but I mostly download my things on underground sites and P2P Clients.
