I would if IRC worked at work.

But it doesn't, and CNN and stuffs do.

I find it interesting that more men seem to vote for Bush, and more women seem to vote for Kerry.... Did anybody else notice that?

Yeah, I noticed that too. Women tend to be more Liberal than men, it's been like that for a long time.

Bush pretty much won this election.

Why do people keep saying this? I'm looking at the numbers and it's almost even so it's not really that significant.

Bush: 367
Kerry: 171

That will be the final result

Back to what Tarale said, the majority of young voters are also for kerry.

It's a little significant, because those percentages translate to huge, huge amounts of people. Sure, 54% doesn't sound like much, till you remember that it's 54% of a LOT of people (46,468,220 votes have been counted.... if roughly half of that are female... )

Yes, BUT...half of them are also male.

So again, what's the significance? It looks normal to me.

And there goes California to Kerry. All of a sudden it's close again since Cali. has *51* votes.

And that also kills Kefka's prediction since Kerry's eclipsed 171.

It's gonna be close... I dunno if we'll have a winner tonight. And if it comes down to *ALASKA*... screw this.

The great thing is that it's 11:43 PM and we still have no idea what's going on.

Surprisingly, Kerry can conceed Florida to Bush and win - OR conceed Florida and Ohio to Bush which could bring it all down to Alaska and Maine.

saw the status at around 7:30..looks at the time Bush was going to get reelected...

update: it seems kerry is going to fall short...push is primed to take FL, OH, CO, and NM--which will put him at 271...

New Mexico was 51-48 Bush last I checked. Colorado's 52-47. Ohio's 52-48.

ABC/CBS gave Florida to Bush but NBC and CNN are *not* jumping to that one just yet.

Thankfully I watched The Daily Show tonight so...

It's too early to call Ohio. Heavily populated Cuyahoga County is currently about 60/40 in Kerry's favor and only a third of their precincts have reported. Said precincts represent about 250,000 votes. (link) Don't forget that voting in Ohio was extended (source: the blurb you get when you click on the state on BBC's election results map), so many Ohio citizens didn't get done voting until literally just a little while ago. By law, if you're in line when the polls close, you can vote, and it took well past normal closing time to get everyone.

Yay, Rydain's using the BBC too.

...Then again, I have a Firefox window opened with CNN, Yahoo/AP and BBC tabs. Those are the only 3 I'll bother with checking.

I wouldn't call Ohio for Bush yet, especially with an apparent 200,000 "provisional ballots" in play according to what I read. If Bush wins Ohio by only 50-60 thousand... it's not over.

...Why do I have a feeling I'm going to wake up tomorrow, look at the paper and see "???" as the headline?

Some channel said Bush had Ohio (I'm flipping around)
And like every channel has different results.

Woo election.

Hey, does the difference of vote between Kerry and Bush exceed the amount of votes given to Nader?

FOX called Ohio.

On one hand, this puts Bush on the brink. On the other hand... IT'S FOX. Nobody else has bothered to call Ohio, and nor should they at this moment.

Colleen's right...there is a metric assload of provisional ballots that haven't been counted. I don't know how much it will help Kerry, but there are over 1 million absentee ballots in Florida as well. Remember...the state calls are projected, not final results, so it sure as hell isn't over yet.
