| hello, i am going to quickly discuss my love/hate relationship with Super Mario Kart and Mario Kart Double Dash. I leave out all games in between because i haven't played them. Both games are fun and rather addictive. Both games supply you with enough secrects to keep you playing and playing. Both games are kickass in the replay factor, especially with two (or more) players. BUT... Both games are lovelingly made to piss me off. They both are programmed to screw me over at the verge of victory. These are the only games in the world that send me into a tempertantrum and bang 2ltr coke bottles against the desk. I don't know what Nintendo's secret is, but their ability to mix pleasure and torture can only be matched in the pron industry of BDSM. does anybody else have a game that is their personal bane? |

| update: I (or rather me and my friends) just beat special and all tour cup in mirror mode. bottom line: trophy car aint that great. ghosts n goblins was so in the extreme of frustration that i cannot get frustrated over something i can not hope to beat. upon reflection, I can name a few more games that are aggrevatingly fun such as most Megaman games (Gameboy versions, I'm looking at you), Galaga, and even the simplistic fury that is Pacman. |

Nintendo is like that. They program their games to let you win up until the end, then you lose horribly. It's frustrating, but it's a good strategy for them. If you just lose right away you think "this game sucks, the hell with it" and return it/sell it (Nintendo hates used game sales since they don't make money off it), and generally think less of the company who made it. However, if you're doing really good and then at the end you lose, sure you're pissed but you think "I was so close... I can win next time" and you keep playing. Until you break the game or win.  BTW, Mario Kart Double Dash is more fun the bigger a TV you use. You can just sit closer, of course.Spoiler: I find Toad's kart to be the best. It's WAY fast, and handles good. The Mario Bros' are good too, simply because they look so cool and don't suck.  |

| Bah. The best kart is the boo pipes, easy. It's just like a lightweight kart but much, much heavier, and you aren't restricted to using only lightweights with it. Bowser & Mario/Paratroopa in the boo pipes is my favorite. | |||

| I like lightweights, though. I go with Koopa and Baby Bowser in Toad's Kart. Even though it's identical to the other 2-4-2 karts (Koopa's, Baby Luigi's), I do better in Toad's than in any other. Sometimes I switch one of my characters for Diddy, it depends on if I'm having trouble holding the lead (Go, Massive Banana Peel of Doom!), or taking it (Triple Red Shells in narrow tracks, Bowser Shell in wide) As for frustrating games... Mario Bros. Lost Levels makes me go  I made it to 7-4, then SMAS erased its memory (damn old SNES  ) and now I can't get up there again; I die in world 4.  |

| Argh, Mario Kart : Double Dash earns my wrath a hundred times over. All Tour cup, 150cc, last race, tied for first, and I lost. Grrrrrr. Now I'll let my bro deal with it, I'll get him all tour and say,"You beat it". | Wait. I don't see what's hard to say about "Mario Kart: Double Dash!!" It doesn't cause smiley problems for me Anyway, Boo Pipes handle just like a lightweight kart and have equal accelleration. The only difference being they can run lightweights off the road and you aren't limited to just lightweights. This in my book makes them the best kart. |

| Bowser and Boo on the green pipes got me the 160 score on 150cc, so I can easily call that my best combo. Bowser's special thrown behind him at 1st. Boo's specials for catchup. The thing that ABSO****INGLUTLY sucks are those blue shells!!! They cost me more races than I can count, and Petey Pihrana is soooo annoying! |

| Blue Shells in this game are annoying, but the explosions are so cool! Petey Piranha is an awesome character. His taunt is funny and the fact he can drive with no eyes makes him funnier. Plus he makes a cool noise. Has anyone with a sibling thought of this? Go to 2P cup and have P1 be you with your best team and P2 be two heavyweights. In the races, P2 will stay behind as "backup" and shoot all players behind you with red shells or nuking anyone dumb enough to get in front of you with a Blue Spiny. Also, use lightning when you're spinning out or in water/lava. Works 99% of the time. |
