I really couldn't say, they both took me pretty much the same amount of time to play, and if you want a challenge out of getting 100% they both have their tough points, they're both equally great to play, but I guess for originality purposes, Fusion would beat Zero Mission out, since Zero Mission is an extension of the original Metroid. I wouldn't say either are better than the other though, I just say you better have both on hand. :\ |

Zero Mission includes the original Metroid, which is better than both of them. Get that. Nah, sorry, the GBA Metroid games aren't really worth it. Linearity and plot-driven gameplay doesn't belong in the Metroid series. |

I preferred Zero Mission over Fusion... Sure, it's a remake of Metroid, but it felt fresh at the same time. Plus if you ever want to play the original... They're both good though - you can't go wrong with either one if you're a Metroid fan. |

Zero Mission ... by far, and easily. Although they both take about the same amount of time to complete, Zero Mission is better ... just being a remake of the original providing updated area's that you remember from back in the day, updated themes, etc. It still felt Linear though, but I found it much more enjoyable than Fusion. |

It is straight forward I think is what it means. Anyways I thought they were both good, there is no point in not getting both |

Linear means it has to be done in a certain sequence. Fusion is that way a lot. Zero Mission isn't so much so. In other words... Fusion HAS to be done a certain way. Zero Mission gives you more leeway, meaning you could actually go and, say, beat Ridley before Kraid... Not that it's the best idea. Both are fun, though. |

Fusion breaks with the Metriod style and tells you where to go. So does Zero Mission, but unlike Fusion, it doesn't force you to go anywhere. You can sequence break Zero Mission all over the place. Metroid is nothing without its sequence breaking. Zero Mission is better. |

ALL Metroid games are linear but allow Sequence Breaking (exept maybe the original Metroid and Metroid Fusion, the first becease it didn't have a definitive sequence at all and the second becease Sequence Breaking is almost or is impossible in this one.) so I do not consider linearity to be an issue with any Metroid game (unless the linearity is too apparent and feels too forced like in Fusion). Fusion is bigger than Zero Mission, actually, with more areas and more bosses... but Zero Mission is more challenging and there isn't a computer to tell you where to go exactely (only slight hints, like in Metroid Prime). All in all, Fusion is a long but rather easy ride while Zero Mission is a harder, shorter ride (lenght-wise). Personally, I prefer Zero Mission becease that it allows Sequence Breaking and becease that while it doesn't feature as many bosses and areas, these areas require more thinking to clear and the bosses are harder. Also, it features classical areas, music, and monsters which is a big advantage for Zero Mission since it will attract Old School Gamers more easily. The inclusion of the original Metroid game also boost the game's lenght (for those who can stand the awful graphics and total lack of directions). |

I personally felt that Zero Mission wrecked the original. Sure there was acceptable gameplay, but too much was changed. -Foreground graphics for starting area was to different. -They had a chance to explain why Samus was so far away from her ship but they skipped it for some reason. -Missles do not bounce of a Brain. -Where the hell was the fake Kriag?! |

People who care THAT MUCH about "omg its so nonliner u suk" really are....agh. Just play the game for what it is, not what its become obsessivly cult-organized around. ; seriously. Metroid fanboys are like the KKK of the 21st century | |||

KKK? That's taking it a little far don't you think? I'm just saying Zero Mission could have been better if it had the slightish things changed. Like that one DBZ movie. |
