Well... In my opinion SMA4 (SMB3) and SMA2 (SMW) are the two best, and I can't think of many reasons why one would be better than the other. The biggest thing that SMA2 has going for it is that it has Yoshi, and as of now that would be my deciding factor.

SMA2 gets my vote.
SMA4 would get a close second.

edit: (Oh yeah, I can't stand the voices they added to the games. Just needed to say that. )

I wish there was more to choose from than ports and a short RPG... >>

Just wondering... could you elaborate a bit on what you're wanting to do? Are you just figuring out which one to buy, or planning on hacking one of them, or just making friendly conversation?

Although I have loved nintendo games since I was two-years-old, I've come to realize that Nintendo is very greedy when it comes to "getting the most out of their work". How many times can you rererelease the same games, without putting forth the creative effort to make new levels, or create a new experience. Okay, I'm through ranting again.

Well I'm trying to figure out what games are worth getting so when I have enough money to get a game, I'll know exactly what to get. Probably gonna get Metroid Fusion or Metroid: Zero Mission. Seeing if there was any decent Mario games. Maybe I'll get Mario & Luigi. Even after it's beaten, there's still Super Mario Bros. Classic for near endless fun! ^^

SMA2. M&L is great too, even though I haven't beaten it yet.

SMA3...although MLSS is a close second. SMA is good too...they even managed to make shitcycles that are only slightly annoying.

Mario Vs. DK, only because it took the gameplay of DK94...

By the way, that is the best portable Mario game.

Oh, forgot about that one -- that gets number one spot in my list now because it's a new game. I like the old Donkey Kong for GB pretty good too. You're probably not interested in that though.

I think that SMA2 is the best for buying, because it's the remake of one of the best Mario games ever: Super Mario World. Riding Yoshi is just too good! SMA3 is in a close second place, because it has the better level design of every Mario game, and it has Yoshi in it too!

The Mario games on the GBA that are new are Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga, Mario Pinball Land(It's actually more fun then other games which are more like Pinball with a game theme, this is more of a pinball adventure game thing with good graphics and stuff, just thought I'd remind you all of it) Mario Vs. Donkey Kong, and... does Wario count, because he is a Mario character, and Wario Land 4 is nice, and Wario Ware is great, and the next one which I don't think has a US name yet but in japan is called Mawaru Made in Wario, is awsome.

M vs. DK. I agree with shadic over there. Retaining that excellent gameplay of GBDK while implementing features capable of the GBA makes it a real hoot.
