Oh, superb! Heh, Microsuck, seen that before. This gets me back on the thought, I've really been considering a mac for my next OS. Only compatibility makes me hesitant. *keys in Jesper* (edited by Dylan on 10-14-04 12:33 AM) |

They also made the site in apple style. And oh, Apple can that too. Apple have alots of emulators. Like x86 ones. I never tried a Macintosh. My motto is not to diss anything that I hadn't tried. |

In the 3 years I've used XP, it has only crashed on me 3 times, and I believe those were just bad nVidia drivers.
After all, there isn't anti-spyware utilities for it. Oh goodness gracious no.
At least it has more than Starcraft, Myst, and Halo for it. |

Originally posted by CymoroEqual results here. Originally posted by CymoroWhich certainly justifies that they can get in that easily! Of course! Logic wins again! If you're willing to accept that spyware can get in and wreak havoc on your computer purely on the basis that "hey, I can always remove them", that's a bit sad. That's like buying a house with a 9x9 m hole in the wall, saying "hey, I can always sit up at night with a gun, in case anyone should want to break in". Originally posted by CymoroAs has the Mac, to some extent. Let's see. You brought up stereotypical platform whining. I took the ball and run with it. And all of a sudden, I'm the asshole. Yes, that makes sense. Windows is a good platform. It's sad that the number of holes have, well, not escalated, but become more appearent over time, especially when the OS finally got stable. I like Windows, but that doesn't exclude me from liking other platforms. I like OS X and Linux too, and as a programmer I especially like that it's easier to create an application in OS X using the base toolkit provided than it is in Windows. Furthermore, I have a Gamecube, a cell phone, a GBA and a graph calculator to play games on. And noone's saying that you can't have both a Windows PC and a Mac, and just do on each what the platform does best, like playing games on my PC (or my other four devices) and fiddle with application development on my Mac. I know I do. |

Originally posted by knuckWrong wrong wrong. Take (please) Blaster. It was caused by a hole in an RPC service, something useful only on some kinds of networks for stuff like remote control. Or the JPG vulnerability, which is simply caused by a buggy piece of code in a specific JPG library, used in lots of Microsoft apps, such as IE, but also things like Visual Studio. And if you use Outlook or Outlook Express, they use IE's rendering engine too, so you're still targetted. The core OS is more or less stable, it's some buggy components that cause the holes. |
