Some time ago (probably 2-3 years ago), a bug with forum.php was discovered. It had something to do with the URL parameters. Now, forum.php?id=1 is a legitimate forum... but the bug were things like forum.php?id=1337 (id could be anything except for the ID's of the already existing forums).

Even though there were a few mySQL fetch errors at the top of the page, posts did work (and I know they would work, because of the board's engine). These nonexistant forums that you could post in were called "moonside forums" by one of the users that discovered it. A lot of users started making spammy or useless posts.

After a while, the admins were tired of all the damned spam. Eventually, Acmlm fixed the bug and deleted the "moonside forum" posts.

Some people liked how those forums were hidden. Perhaps this forum is what came out of that "moonside forum" discovery?

I've heard that those threads were moved here. Perhaps it's true..

Supposedly, the reason for this forum's existence (on the old board) is that Acmlm was attempting to restore threads that were lost at one point...hence the name...

As long as it's part of history it is not useless.

Yep, there were this big board bug when alot of threads got deleted out of the blue. Acmlm somehow saved parts of them and moved them here. Then later moved them back to the "graveyard" forum. Which we don't have on the restarted forum...

Hence looking at the original LT would show old threads with a few posts, then a ton from Acmlm poly-posting.

It was mainly jiust for that, then someone discovered you could post in it...
...and here we are.

..and then on one magically day, LT and . were merged and we were never the same again. The seas parted and the earth rumbled. And the cleric was born.

No, here's how it all went down....

I was eating malt balls one day on the couch, throwing them up in the air, and then one cracked on my dogs head, he got mad, bit me in the leg, and then I had to run for my life. I stopped at my computer, randomly typed in a forum ID, and viola! LT appeared.

Banedon and Kitten Yiffer got it right

After the post loss on 10-30-01, I tried to find threads back from Temporary Internet Files and was planning to manually restore some of them ... but since I didn't want to leave incomplete threads in the active forums, I created Lost Threads, hid it and kept the threads there ...

But not too long after, I got bored of it already and also forgot to restrict posting there, which of course had a rather large impact

But it's not easy to convert saved threads from cache into threads back into Acmlm board.

I have alot of threads which I saved from the cache, both from my own and someone else computer.

I should upload them somewhere.
