Ever since installation of Windows XP SP2, I've been unable to run any 16-bit Windows programs. (or DOS programs, but I use DOSbox anyways) Whenever I try running a 16-bit program, like the Microsoft Arcade or Wingroove, it gives me the following message: "C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT. The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose Close to terminate the application." I think SP2 screwed up AUTOEXEC.NT. Anyone know what's wrong, or how to fix it? |

I had the problem earlier, but I repaired it. Search for the file AUTOEXEC.NT on your hard drive, then copy it in the C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32 Folder, that's it. |

Um, there's a little problem... Explorer crashes whenever I use Search! This has happened since we got it. Seems like every copy of Windows XP has a problem somewhere. My friend's XP computer can't use Log Off! He must Switch Users and then in another name, use Task Manager to log them off. Hmmf ![]() Know any good tools for searching the HD? |
