OOC: O... M... G.  Schwa stares at Janus. "Holy!!?" There's a pause. "Holy!!?" he says again. "Ah, well, that certainly is one of the possibilities. It's true that the recipitent of Psi Vortex B's personality sometimes determines the results. Wow, I still have a lot to learn. Well... anyway, we've got a sparring match to get to, I believe. Omega Psibeam." Schwa launches this attack at Janus for the second time so far in this fight, knowing that with Janus's new element type, he'll be resistant to almost anything Schwa can throw at him.  |

| OOC: Actually.......... The purpose of the post was to show that while you can still scorch me, I can't hurt you conventionally. My ATTACKS are holy element, not my defense. That's what you said the power does. As the Omega Psibeam slams straight into Janus, he is knocked backward several feet, and falls to the ground in a smoking heap. Janus: "Ow..... this kinda sucks..." He gets up with even more burns on his clothes, and relaunches his offensive -- just to check and make sure he's not being fooled. A flurry of punches, kicks, and a totally unharmed Schwa later, Janus takes a few steps backward, and tries to regain his thoughts... "Well, it looks like I can't hurt you. Not right now, anyway. But don't worry, it's me. I'll figure a way around this. Eventually...." Janus crosses his arms and begins thinking of a loophole to his newfound holyness. |

| OOC: True, but if Janus can use the Ether-trick like Schwa, he's got an extremely formidable defense. If. Oh, Schwa still takes damage from holy moves, but he's resistant. The trick with holy energy is that it increases in strength depending on the character's goodness level. (Remember, "For every block a strike, for every strike a block." Something my old Karate teacher told me in real life.) Schwa smiles again. That's getting annoying. "Soon you will be called to think of a way to think. I summon my Emotional Rockets." Schwa holds a hand up, and three cones of energy appear next to him that float in midair-- this time they're about 1/2 the size of javelins. One is blue, one yellow and one red. "As I have aged, I have learned to treat my opponents with respect, but also to take battle very seriously. Just remember that this, although just a sparring match, is still a fight just as real as any. Defend yourself against your own mind!" Schwa points at Janus, and with a gold flash, the yellow cone points at Janus and flies at him. Worse still, it is coated in an ether that makes elemental attacks virtually helpless to destroy the rocket. |

| Janus: "Schwa, even after all of these years..." Janus disappears! Or, more accurately, he starts moving faster than most human eyes can see. Schwa's psionic senses should be able to keep up with him... barely. Janus is fully able to move like this due to him having set his hammer on the ground. The loss of all that weight certainly makes him capable of showing his true speed. And, his current (not necessarily true...) speed is enough to make Schwa come between him and the Rocket. The Emotional Rocket misses him and, if it's homing in on him, is now on a course for Schwa, so long as Schwa remains in Janus' path. Of course, we're back at square one if Schwa moves... "You're still underestimating my speed. Might want to watch out for that Rocket. If Blue's information is correct, the effects should be quite depressing." |

| Schwa must use a lot of concentration to track Janus... The funny thing is, though, that it would SEEM like Schwa would have a counter for his own attack, when in reality he doesn't. "Clever, Janus." Schwa darts over to Janus's grounded hammer, and lifts it over his head. "You won't be needing this for a while." Schwa's hands flare up with ether, which cover the hammer and are absorbed into the hammer. The hammer shines in the sun more brilliantly now. "There, I charged your hammer with holy energy. Let me see how well it works." The hammer, now holy charged, is lighter and only is accurate if the user clears his mind of negative ideas and thoughts. The skill of the hammer is now based on the purity of the user. Schwa gets ready to destroy the yellow rocket if it gets too close. The red and blue rockets still hover next to Schwa. Secretly, Schwa expects Janus to call the hammer back... initiating the next part of Schwa's plan. One can see the gleam in Schwa's eyes. How unusual. |

| "What the? Plasmatech- OW!!" Schwa never gets to finish the attack and is shocked. Schwa laughs. "Okay then, I'm making sure the rest of your surprises are useless. Energy Purge." Schwa throws the hammer in the air and fires a beam of cream ether at it from his palm, which pierces through the hammer without leaving a mark. Element types which he stored inside are knocked out. On the hammer's way down, Schwa fires a 2nd beam to eliminate the rest of the stored elements... ...and while he's doing this, Schwa points at the fast-moving Janus, causing the red rocket to follow him along with the yellow one. This time Schwa downloads coordinates into the red rocket, causing it to never go within 10 feet of Schwa. If it does, it'll reverse direction immediately. |

| Janus: "Aw.... All that work for nothing. Well, not nothing...." As he continues running, Janus takes note of the paths the rockets are traveling, and with a bit of fancy maneuvering, he runs circles around them. As the rockets continue their attempt at homing in on him, Janus picks and chooses his time correctly, and when the opportunity arises, he zooms between the twin trajectories of the rockets, placing them on a collision course with each other in the air! "There, that should take care of that...." Regardless of what happens to the rockets, Janus continues dashing, rushes over to his hammer, plucks it from the ground, and runs with it. |

| The two rockets collide... Schwa wigs... "Janus! Get down NOW!!" The result of the collision causes an etheral explosion, but the ether looks demonic. It spreads through the air, and all the ground it touches withers. Schwa dashes over to Janus. "That ether is a demonic combination of Sorrow and Anger! It'll tear your spirit apart if it gets to you. Get behind me and I'll take care of it, then we can continue our spar." Schwa's hands flare with rainbow ether, called into him from Sensae (who's watching him) especially to deal with this evil energy. |

| Janus: "Ha, I guess now would be a perfect time to show you one of my own new tricks..." As he dives out of the way of the emotional explosion, Janus places his hands together, shuts his eyes, and rolls along the ground, ending up in a standing position near the rainbow-handed Schwa. "Iron Will!!!" Janus' eyes begin glowing their signature azure color, and he opens them wide, staring directly at the demonic formation. "This technique is more of a mental block than anything else... So long as I keep my concentration, I can stand up against nearly anything my foe can dish out." The wall of willpower, a single-minded focus formed by years of experience, allows Janus to keep on fighting, no matter how hard of a hit he takes. "Sorry to disappoint you, Schwa, but I will not stand down!" OOC: I don't know if you know anything about Ragnarok Online, but this is basically the Endure skill from it. |

| "Well, I'm glad you have a defense that works," Schwa says. "So let me rephrase my order. Let us both take care of this mistake, then finish fighting." Schwa feels bad right about now. He felt Janus was inferior to him up until now. Janus's bravery, his act of fighting Demonic energy, shows Schwa what he needed to realise. Smiling, Schwa gets ready to attack the demon ether as it expands closer to them. "Don't lose your concentration, though," he mutters. |

| Janus: "I wouldn't dream of it! Now then, another new trick..." Calling his hammer to him, Janus again closes his eyes and concentrates. This time, he crosses his hammer over his chest, bringing it so that he is holding the edge of the hammer and the handle just beneath the head straight outward from his chest. "Heart of Steel!!!" Nothing happens.... "You'll see what this one does later. Another thing you might want to take note of, as well..." Janus takes his hammer and hurls it toward the demonic being, as a burst of cream-colored light emits from it! "Thanks to you, I'm holy now." |

| "Grand Halo," Schwa says, holding his palms toward the demon ether and firing. A white energy ring is fired out, but it marks intense holy/psychic compressed energy, and explodes upon impact with something. Janus's attack and Schwa's attack strike the demon ether, causing it to shrink, wither and die. Schwa turns to Janus. "Well, look at that. I still have one rocket left." He points to Janus, and the Joy rocket takes off at him, homing in. The Joy rocket is the most unique of the three Emotional Rockets. |

| Janus' face immediately breaks into an almost eerie smile.... Janus: "Jeez, man. Since when is THIS an attack? Woo, it's totally false happiness, but man, I just... can't.... help myself!" (thinking): 'But.... damn... I know he's up to something, he's got to be, why else would he fire a Joy rocket at me? Now THAT's unorthodox... I just gotta keep my mind focused, and make sure I can still keep Iron Will going.' "I can tell you, I'm feeling pretty good about myself. I think I'll show you just what Heart of Steel does now." Janus' eyes glow blue, and his hammer's head floats in front of him, extending the handle to form a gliding second hand around the clock of his body. It ticked to twelve different locations, signifying the twelve numbers on a clock. It stops straight in front of Janus' face, at the "twelve" position. "This, Schwa, is my Heart of Steel technique, otherwise known as Metabolic Regulation. With it, I can keep my blood flowing at a constant rate, never slowing down, never speeding up, allowing me to keep a constant amount of energy in my body, and effectively freeze it in the time that Heart of Steel activates. I've managed to divide it into twelve levels. I'll start off at level one..." The hammer's handle ticks from "twelve" to "one." Janus grabs his hammer out of the air, and moves with unremarkable speed towards Schwa. There doesn't seem to be much of a change in him... Yet. He swings his hammer in an overhead strike, but intentionally misses, hits the ground, and throws a chunk of earth at Schwa! "And don't think I've forgotten about Psi Vortex, either. You've just forced me to attack you indirectly, Schwa. This isn't over yet!" |

| As the earth spray flies toward him, Schwa makes his move. In the blink of an eye, Schwa almost disappears as he runs toward the earth shower, plows through it with a ball of neon ether around his arm, and smashes Janus's front with his fist. The power into this strike is incredible. Schwa then darts 20 feet behind Janus. All this happens in 1/2 seconds. Now that he's in one place, it's easy to tell some differences about Schwa... He moved in such a way, just then, that he left images behind him. As he's standing still, neon-gold and neon-blue ether is swirling around his fists, as if he has too much power to control. His eyes are silver, visible under his blindfold. "Janus, the Joy rocket is the most dangerous for you out of all the rockets. Though joy is a positive feeling, when you are overloaded with it, it keeps you in one place long enough for me to tap into your mind and withdraw the amazing, positive energies it leaves behind. The effects of handling these positive energies include a speed burst, a power boost and quite a bit of mana... all for a limited time. "The emotions you experience from Joy will only be intense for the first 10 seconds, which, of course, are over. But for a long time, you will have a tiny lingering effect of joy that I can't do anything with. If you dwell on those joy emotions, you'll make yourself powerful, as they still conatin small amounts of positive energy. So, the question is, lad, will you take the time to learn how to channel your emotions amist a fight?" Schwa looks ready to attack again, all the sudden... |

| Janus: "Tick, Tock...." Sprawled on the ground, Janus' metal hauberk is glowing, bringing his bashed insides back into one piece. As he lies on his back, Janus holds the hammer in the clock position again, moving "one" to "two." He leaps to his feet, and a tiny trickle of blood streams from his lips, the product of Schwa's latest maneuver. "You know, old man, I still don't like the fact that you're calling me "lad." (thinking): 'This is getting to be a bit dangerous...' "I'll show you why you shouldn't! Green's Lightning!!!" Charging his hammer with electricity, Janus blazes toward Schwa and swings an arc of lightning at him! ....But something's different... He seems faster than he was before. |

| "Sparring is as dangerous as any real fight, when both players are real about it. "Hypno Lock!" Schwa holds an open palm at Janus, and something that looks like an eye of red light appears on the palm. Freaky! A red cone of light sprayes quickly out of the eye in a straight line. This energy form, if it hits Janus, causes paralysis by locking the nerves which lasts for about a minute. Schwa is busy thinking, though, that if he misses, he's at the mercy of Janus's hammer. |

| Janus: "Too slow!" And therein lies the strength of Heart of Steel: By allowing his blood to keep pumping at a regular pace, Janus can maintain a constant speed, increasing it at will with the attack! Dive-rolling just underneath the Hypno Lock beam, Janus comes out of his roll by springing upward and uppercutting Schwa with an extended ray of lightning emitting from the end of his hammer. |
