OOC: That's hilarious. At first I thought Slam was an attack.  This battle is just raw awesomeness.   "I remember that hammer. I remember it well. Let's see if this treatment works to silence it." Schwa's platform, upon missing Janus, zooms back to under Schwa's feet. Schwa then raises altitude, and the hammer collides with the platform. After a truly electric burst that lasts 6 full seconds, the hammer flies the other direction, deflected by the energy of the platform. However the platform is at 44% HP. "My wisest move is to now delete the Thunder Glider." Schwa lands his platform while Janus is getting up, and the platform disappears. Schwa is 30ft away from Janus, and he stands ready. Schwa knows that controlling a damaged Thunder Glider uses way more mana than normal. |

| Janus: "Still... Can't see...." Fortunately for Janus, he doesn't need to. Schwa's earthbound again... Recalling the hammer (and fiddling with it a bit to make sure he knows which end is up), Janus puts it away, reverting it to its normal form... "Alright, Schwa, I think it's time I show you what I've been learning these past few years. You were pretty fast back in the old days, but I wonder, can you keep up with me now?" Janus' stance changes to one of unarmed combat potential. His eyes closed and his ears and fingers wide open, Janus is now not only listening for Schwa, but also feeling the currents in the air around him, the loss of his sight making his other senses compensate for a disadvantage. His legs spread to shoulder length, Janus advances toward Schwa's voice, and when he believes he's approached the correct spot, he strikes out with a widely-arced roundhouse kick! OOC: Don't forget, Janus isn't physically strong, but he's lighting fast. |

| "Another point for you." Schwa raises his ether hands to block, but the kick is way too strong. Schwa is knocked back, but does a full backflip and lands in a handstand position. Gold ether is gathered around his hands. As Janus hits, Psi Vortex is weakened yet again. "Let's see how you fare against Psychic Earth Starstorm." Schwa's ether begins seeping rapidly into the ground... | |||

| Janus continues to rage towards Schwa, trying desperately to break Psi Vortex's effects! This time, he wastes no risk on his blindness, rushing in with a grab attack! If he manages to wrap around Schwa (which should be challenging, considering that he's still got his eyes closed), he'll unleash an electric charge from Green's Lightning! |

| "You are desperatre," Schwa comments, upside down. "That will be your downfall. Mother Earth, unleash the fury of Psychic Earth Starstorm!" A brilliant, gold beam erupts out of the earth and streaks into the sky. Janus can sense the light even with his eyes closed. A moment after the beam reaches the sky, it gets a little darker, and many stars become visible in the sky, twinkling like never before, in a manner that almost bears news of danger it seems... |

| Stopping short and opening his eyes, Janus sees the stars! Janus: "Whoa, got kinda dark all of a sudden, did it?" The dark, ominous looking sky, actually more attributed to Janus having his eyes closed for so long, looms above him as he carefully plans his next move in his head... (thinking) '......Shit, I got nothing.' A short time passes as Janus continues to gather his thoughts. ... I said, a short time passes as Janus continues to gather his thoughts... ...Still nothing? (still thinking) 'Yep, sorry.' Bah, it figures. Alright, I'll get us out of this one. Janus.... uh..... His eyes opened fully, calls his hammer back into his hands! (can you do this next part?) (thinking) 'Sure thing!' "Earth, eh? Now that's more like it! If you're gonna do something to the sky, though, I might as well do something to the ground!" As the sky continues to fill with those dangerous stars, Janus in turn slams his hammer downward, kicking up clouds of dust everywhere! He then spins into a whirlwind, but begins spinning so fast that the dust quickly turns into a sandstorm, enveloping the area and sending tiny bits of earth and rock flying everywhere at high speeds! Granted, it won't really cause that much serious damage, but it's quite an annoying sting when a pebble gets flung at your head at about 60 Ks an hour... OOC: I'd like to note that this attack isn't really so much to cause damage as it is to get rid of that accursed Psi Vortex attack. (edited by Grey on 10-18-04 06:00 PM) |

| OOC: Smart. You should know that the harder Schwa is hit, the more Psi Vortex weakens and vice versea. One more Hammer should completely free Janus. The sandstorm rages, slowly damaging Schwa. But Psychic Earth Starstorm is in effect as of now. Fireballs the size of small meteors become visible in the sky... here comes the first one, destination only 10 feet to Janus's right side. Although ruthless in battle, Schwa hopes the illusions (or what's left of them) don't distract Janus from dodging this thing. OOC: Do you and Janus often debate in mid-battle, or was this some mysterious omen about my future???  (Psychic Earth Starstorm should last about 4 of your turns total.) |

| OOC: Well, ever since I broke the fourth wall in that battle where I called out Xzion, I figured it'd be a neat little addition to my fighting style. Pow! As the first fireball hits the sandstorm, Janus whirls out of his cyclone, the force of the explosion jarring him to the side. As he falls to the ground, the wind and earth that previously surrounded him almost seemed to be absorbed into his body, as though he were charging something up. Though still raging, the sandstorm will die down and weaken soon.... That means he's gonna have to work fast. Janus: "Right, first two elements are taken care of. That just leaves fire, water, and electricity... Heh, what was it they said about colored light...?" Looking into the skies, Janus focuses, trying to keep his mind on those fireballs. He then gets another idea... "I see.... I won't even have to work that hard for the fire element, either... I hope." Janus waits for the fireballs to fall! |

OOC: Cool. Schwa is too naive to do that...  Two more fireballs become visible, slightly smaller than the first, but the fact that there's two of 'em and not one... does mean something. One is headed right for Janus, but is farther away than the 2nd, and the 2nd is headed 10 feet in front of Janus. Schwa, still in a handstand, calls out some encouragement. "Worthy foe, I trust you have figured out how to defend yourself?" |

| Janus: "Relax, Schwa.... This will do more help to me than harm!" Rushing towards the closer fireball, Janus swings his hammer at it, hits it, and the fireball is absorbed into his hammer! As Janus concentrates on controlling the heat energy his bag just absorbed, the handle of the hammer quickly becomes extremely hot, blisteringly hot, and Janus almost drops it from the pain. The heat, however, quickly subsides.... "Ow.... alright, that's fire! Next..." Having gotten three of the five elements he needs (earth, wind, and fire), Janus decides to concentrate on Ice next! He looks up at the second fireball, and a cold wind swirls around him... "Blue's Blizzard!" Ice and frozen water swirl around Janus as he leaps upward to the farther away fireball (assumedly still falling towards him) and slams it towards Schwa! Of course, his eyes ARE wide open while all of this is happening... |

| OOC: Sorry for the wait. I got behind in schoolwork, and just recently got caught up. Yay for me! Schwa stares at the ice wall. "This will be fun. I'll throw in a 3rd element now. Gyrowell Drainage." (echo effects) Schwa holds a hand in the air, and something similar to Gyrowell starts appearing. The only difference is that it's silver and copper colored. The well stands in front of Schwa, but objects nearby are not sucked in-- except forms of elemental energy. "You remember Gyrowell, Janus. That I know. This is a variation of that. Gyrowell can be upgraded to Gyrowell Advance, Pulsewell, then Gyrowell Drainage, Gyrowell Reversal and Gyrowell Spirit Guide. Each one is better than the last. This variation acts as a black hole for all forms of earthly energy. Spiritual energy is drawn in as well, but rather than destroyed it is added to the Gyrowell's energy usage." Janus's ice wall, and the rest of the fireballs change direction towards the silver vortex. (Janus's hammer, if saturated with elemental energy, may also be affected to an extent...) |

| Janus (Thinking): 'Damn, I'm going to have to do this quickly, then... But I still need more time!' (speaking) "Well, Schwa, that's a bit of a problem, I guess... I better take in that ice right now, before it disappears!" Sucking the cold energy into his hammer, Janus notices it IS indeed being pulled toward the Gyrowell -- in fact, he's got to grip it with all of his strength just to make sure it doesn't go flying towards it! That kind if gravitational interference will definitely render the hammer useless for the time being. But that's alright, he just needs one more element, and then a way to mix things up a bit... "Alright, and now the fifth element!" "Green's Lightning!" Struggling to split his concentration between keeping his hammer steady and keeping his wits about him, Janus surrounds himself in electricity, hoping he'll be able to keep it for long enough to absorb it into his hammer, which is becoming increasingly hard to hold onto... As he surrounds himself with electricity, he reconverts the hammer to its bag form, and straps it to himself to make sure it doesn't fly away! He then stamps his feet into the ground, keeping himself well-entrenched until he's finished with his work. "Hey, Schwa... just a quick question; Isn't your holy ethereal energy elemental, too?" |

Schwa does something sneaky; he pushes the Gyrowell toward Janus with his ether-coated hands, as if it were a solid object. The well slowly glides toward Janus as if drifting through space, and as distance goes down, power goes up, like two opposite magnets being drawn together. | |||

| The bag absorbes the electrical energy, and the pull on Janus becomes even stronger! He's skidding literally through the ground towards the well, slowly yet surely losing his footing in the gravitational magnitude of the Gyrowell's might. And, as if on cue, he gets an idea... Janus: "You know, I just thought of something... You're awfully close to that well, Schwa. Gravity forces objects not only to be sucked towards an object, but also to be locked into orbit with them. Each year, the Earth's moon gets closer and closer to the Earth. Eventually it will enter the Earth's atmosphere and kill us all." At this, Janus forces himself out of the ground, feeling a massive shift in the pull of the well. He forces a couple of steps backward, and then starts inching to the side. It takes a good deal of effort, considering the bag on his back is at this point nothing more than a huge, charged up rock. However, he's found that as he moves to the side, slowly gaining speed, it's becoming easier to do... "And..... the only thing stopping the moon...." He's struggling now, using every last manipulable ounce of his strength just to keep at a steady pace.... "From... colliding with the Earth..." BANG! In a burst of speed, Janus rockets off to the side, letting the Gyrowell entrap him! However, he's not being sucked toward it nearly as fast, as he concentrates all of his strength on movement! Movement in a circular pattern around the Gyrowell! "......is the moon's centrifugal force!" And it's true! The natural weight of Janus' bag, coupled with the gravitational pull of the Gyrowell, and the speed at which he's moving in a circle around the well, is actually allowing him to keep a good distance away from the well. As he speeds around and around Schwa, Schwa should be feeling a slight air current in the direction of Janus' running... "Now to pick up the pace!" |

| An impressed Schwa laughs. "That is both incredible and foolish. What if, perhaps, Earth suddenly disappeared... What would happen to the moon? Let's find out." Schwa moves his hands in an oval pattern, and the well implodes, disappearing in a tenth of a second. Janus is sent flying, as the gravity keeping him from leaving orbit is all the sudden, just not there. Schwa leaps up and fires a psychic beam at him on Janus's way down. "That is why nature is so symbotic... Remove one element and the whole thing collapses." |

| As Janus goes flying, he reconverts his bag into hammer form, and digs it into the ground, acting as an anchor to drag him just short of a trip into Schwa's psychic beam! The whiplash from the flight then overtakes him, and he collapses to the ground in a tired fit of fatigue. The sudden gravitational change made him a bit lightheaded... Janus: "Well thought out, Schwa! You're certainly thinking with the right head today!" (thinking): 'And moving to disrupt my own thoughts, it seems.... time to make good on my words!' Janus, still a bit dazed from that last move, stumbles to his feet, his vision blurred and untrustworthy for the time being. He shakes his head, and flecks of dirt fall from it as he looks at Schwa, blinking his eyes to try to refocus them. He then hurls his hammer in Schwa's direction, running alongside it and throwing a punch at Schwa, synchronized with the hammer's movement for a double-strike! "The last thing I need is to get one of those visions now..." |

| Schwa steps forward and to the side, letting the hammer miss him but being hit by Janus. But Schwa also grabs Janus by the arm and throws him straight up in the air before wincing. Schwa holds his arm pointed at Janus, and swirls of emerald light pour out of his palm and surround Janus, trapping him in an orb of green and suspending him in the air. "Psi Vortex B!" The green light is delicate and can be disrupted easily... If Janus frees himself before 6 seconds, this attack has no effect. Schwa calls out, "C'mon, lad, you don't want to go through this over again!" |

| Janus: "Lad? I'm older than you!" 5.... Suspended in the air, Janus' hammer flies toward him, and he catches it! 4... Janus then spins into a quick cyclone, not a full scale whirlwind, but just enough to give him some aerial control... 3... The whirlwind rockets toward the ground! 2... The whirlwind collides with the ground! 1... "Earthquake Diver!" 0... As the telltale spray of earth flies into the air and all around where Janus collided, one question remains.... Was it enough? |

| Janus has broken free, but not quick enough to avoid the dastardly Psi Vortex B. Though Janus's earlier hit on Schwa freed him from Psi Vortex A, the variation may affect Janus for worse... or it may not be as harmful. Who knows? "You are only as old as you make yourself," Schwa reminds. "You are very active still, as I, making us both young in a sense. Let me explain about Psi Vortex B. This affliction causes all your attacks to be based on a single element. That element is random, but all your attacks will consist of that element until you can free yourself by hitting me. For example, your melee hammer attack may release a burst of fire from now on... or ice, or thunder, wind... There are many kinds of element types. Why don't you attack me and discover what you have been bound to?" OOC: This is actually good for you because you're the one telling me what element it is. |

Janus sets his hammer on the ground, and assumes a martial arts stance. He shoots toward Schwa, striking him with a lightning fast palm strike to the face.... .....That does absolutely nothing to faze Schwa. Instead, cream-colored white light erupts from his fist, and as Janus leaps away from Schwa, he stares at his fists in horror, their glowing nature signifying the one thing Janus hadn't counted on... Holy element. |
