Colleen, how do you know? You only join when the board goes down for a good while. But #acmlm will always be for the cool people of the board, regardless of how uncool they may be. |

It is also for those of you who are not lazy enough to completely ignore downloading stupid mIRC. Ziff are LAZY! Anyways, they're both douches, but Kerry is an eloquent douche. And Bush is a douche with a couple douches in his mouth. |

my analysis after the debate is that kerry thorougly rocked Bush. Every time Kerry directed something Bush's way, the response was thoughtless and based purely on simplistic emotional emotional principals such as "yah, we're the good guys".. Kerry was running his responses on logic, bush was running on "no you're wrong, because i said do and i'm determinded.".

Poland! We have Poland as an ally! Anyways, I've been a thorough Kerry supporter this entire time. Bush kept trying to hammer the "flip flop" label on Kerry, but I thought Kerry was direct and consistent with what he thought: Saddam was a threat, but we went about disarming him the wrong way. He didn't say we should have never had gone. I found it appauling how Bush practically a 30 second extension and then when he was granted it, he'd look into the camera with a blank face. Not only that, his statement on how he didn't believe he'd lose the election irritated me. Extremely cockiness doesn't make a good leader, I'm sorry. Kerry didn't strongly define his plan for Iraq, but he DID say where we could get a layout of it (he mentioned two websites, which I forget the addresses of). Bush's body language was awful. He leaned on the podium, he sighed, he smirked, and just had an awful look on his face. Also, his use of fear to swade your way of thinking seems very archaic and very pessimistic, which he practically accuses Kerry of being. What you have to wonder is that if Bush is not re-elected and he believes that we're at a higher risk of another terror attack, then isn't it Bush's job to create a stable system so that if he ISN'T re-elected, he can atleast minimize the chance of another terrorist attack? So appareanlty, his plan only works best while he's in office. What happens if he gets a 2nd term and it's up? |

Originally posted by Rebecca Daise definetly, and horray for poland! a few of the facts that i loved that Kerry put out against some of the things Bush was talking about, like the actual numbers on troops of other countries that were deployed. Not to mention that iraq was what, ranked 35 in potential threaty-ness out of 40 or whatever? but you're right, kerry had his chance to outline a better (or at least different and distinct) plan for Iraq. All i saw him do was point the finger which he's had the chance to do the last few months, and i think that was a mistake. if Nixon lost because of a 5 O'clock shadow then maybe bush can lose for his smart-ass smirk |

Originally posted by Drag Take a joke. My own version of the highlights, for the record I have hated Bush since 2000 and wanted Clark to win the primaries (So I'll be making fun of Bush a little more than Kerry): -First thing I notice is that while Bush talks Kerry is always doing one of three things. He's either standing there, he's smiling at Bush, or he's furiously scribbling notes. He even furiously scribbles notes when he doesn't ask for the 30 seconds to re-counter Bush's statement. If you watched the Daily Show tonight you know what he was writing -Bush is in the middle of a sentance and suddnely blurts out "LET ME FINISH!". This is usual in a debate, except Bush did it for no reason. He was not running out of time, he was not being interrupted by Kerry or the moderator, and there was nothing else he could have possibly said this to. My theory is that he's actually Perot in disguise. -Bush said stuff. And then he said it a second time. And a third time. And a fourth time. He'd obviously written down things he wanted to say over and over and wanted to use them in the debate. Problem is, half the time he blurted them out when they had little to do with the topic. -Bush made a few new additions to the "George W. Bush Dictionary", the most prominent of which is the word "trans-shipment", as in "transportation + shipment". -Kerry has apparently lived in France for too long as he made several remarks that would require a skilled linguist to decipher. I specifically remember something along the lines of "We're always uncertain that we're right, uncertain that we're wrong, and uncertain that we're uncertain". -Opposite to Kerry's rather boring composure, Bush spent most of the time Kerry used to speak wearing his "Angry Monkey" face. Overall, I think that the actual debate was fairly close, but because of Bush's constant reptition of bad catch phrases and negative body language, I think Kerry won here. The election is still far from decided, I think that the second debate will have a lot of weight in this election as well. |

The best part EVER was when Bush said: "I........................................................uh....................." Omfg, that will be a classic forever. The look on his face was fucking priceless. |

Originally posted by witeasprinwow haha, yah. i was remarking in irc that i would love to see both candidates notes after the debate. I suspect i would see the word "asshole" written, re-written, underlined, and emphasized in all manners possible. I also suspect that there were some very nice drawings by Kerry of Bush as a gigantic penis.. maybe that was just hopeful thinking Originally posted by witeasprinwow he also did a very strange looking nose twitch/sniff that seemed more than a tad suspicious. I think Bush did a line before the debates... i just hope he brought enough for everyone |

I'm so happy Canada ends up getting The Daily Show at midnight on CTV. That was worth a good laugh or two. And as a Canadian, I'm EXTREMELY pissed off at the fact we're no longer America's #2 ally. *POLAND* is. Augh. Based on what I heard and read, Kerry got the upper hand tonight. Now, will it translate into anything... don't forget, two debates left. |

As long as who ever gets elected reopens the border for live beef from Canada, I won't have to kill someone. There are farmers around here who have gone almost a million dollars in the hole in the past year because the border's closed.

That all started when Bush took his first vacation as president to Mexico instead of Canada, slapping tradition right in the face. Then in the days after 9/11, he didn't mention us as one of the allies... someone must have told him that he was REALLY pissing us off because at one of the big speeches (the Senate one?) he put us right behind the UK. (Yeah, we didn't care about the fact 9/11 had just happened - we were more offended at the snub. ) |

It still kinda makes me sick we have to vote for either of them. Can't we get Al Gore in there somewhere? I completely missed the debate they had, but either way, I'm still voting for Kerry.... |

This whole "Kerry Owned Bush" stuff is a matter of perspective. My roommate walked in earlier today and started jabbering to his mom on his cell phone about the thorough trouncing Kerry received. I'm inclined to believe that it's just biased thinking on both sides and we all want to think our favorite candidate won.
