| I'm fairly new to the boards so I'm not entirely sure of who or where I should go to offer an opinion, but I had a slight idea. I recently (as in this morning) posted an article I found in a newspaper, and I thought maybe it would be nice to have a forum for International Events, or World Affairs, or something like that. A place where we can discuss more serious matters without having inappropriate comments made. Just a thought. If I need to take this elsewhere, please let me know! Thanks =D | |||

| I completely agree. As long as people keep it respectful, it should be fine. I mean, the same kind of things can happen in any thread. I'd just like to be able to post articles and whatnot, and have an intelligent conversation about it and have it read seriously rather than ignored and passed over because it's "too long," know what I mean? | You know, this has come up a lot of times before, I've even bought it up myself several times (in this very forum, I believe, and also once in General Chat. Nothing has ever come of it. What has annoyed me most though, is that while the opinion is generally largely favorable (with some exceptions) towards this idea, nothing has ever happened -- not even so much as an opinion from the staff on how they feel about this. Which makes me feel like mentioning this kind of thing is kinda like pissing in the wind. Do the staff take these suggestions seriously, are they seriously considered? If so, why is it that we generally don't get feedback about these ideas? If this is something that the staff are opposed to, I'd like to find out their reasons for it, rather than having (yet another) thread about this slip into oblivion.... Just my $0.02. For the most part on this board, things are okay, but every now and then -- I feel like a mushroom -- kept in the dark and fed a lot of bullshit. |

| There's an admin forum, there are more than just a few users, and it's called: "USE IT!" Don't be afraid to ask at least, I doubt there would be many opposed to it as long as a) there was activity and b) there were people that would keep it relatively sane and decent in terms of it being a forum. But eh...guess it's your call. |

| Ah, so how would the citizens of Acmlmistan go about making this a "pressing issue" ? I'd like to see something either happen, or a decent explanation as to why it won't happen, y'know. Posting repeatedly about this feels like.. well, as I said, pissing in the wind.... or banging my head against a wall.. It would be nice for this particular issue to have some resolution.  The majority of us are mature enough to be able to discuss current affairs without resorting to namecalling, hairpulling and shit-flinging by now.... I think So I'm not sure what's really holding this up, all it would need is willing participants (hey, like me!) and a mature and sensible moderator. | A forum like this would be awesome, thought it would be a good idea that if the mods that are going to moderate it have a political intrest and is somewhat active on this forum. (don't take someone who visit this board once a month ) The rules for a such forum should be simple, no personal attacks or at least they should be avoided (many political threads have been closed becuse of someone flaming  , and the board rules should still apply...)And actually, the last political/religious thread that got closed down was months ago now.  |

| Well folks, it looks like our time has finally come. The discussion has gone down for the most part and practically all the admins have gave it a thumbs up. (Any other admin either hasn't seen it or just hasn't replied to it yet.) So it's only a matter of time now before Erk adds it. Oh, and one last thing. Don't mess this up. We asked for something and we got it. If it erupts into a big debacle of flame and general lameness, it will be a long time before anything like it happens again. I don't think it will be a problem, but just in case, I felt I should say that. So just sit tight for now. |
