Well, as of yesterday I've had a nasty cold, which sucks an incredible amount. Someone find the damn cure already. Anyway, during the night, I kept having to wake up to blow my nose. (I finall fixed that, by stuffing some kleenex in the affected nostril. ) Well, one such occurrance happened while I was dreaming. In this dream, I was driving my dad's car (which was different than the car he really has), having just pulled out of the parking lot. Unlike most of my dreams, it was very realistic and I drove exactly like I do in reality. Well, as I was driving along I noticed I had to wake up and blow my nose. (Still, I didn't realize I was actually dreaming. I think I was expecting it to happen in the dream, not in the real world.) So I actually pulled over, put the car in park, woke up, and blew my nose. I wasn't even tired when I woke up. Weird, huh?

Ive had a couple of dreams where I know Im dreaming. Actually to be more specific I have a recurring dream where I can run through air and basically fly. At first it was an ordinary dream but it kept coming back and every time I can control myself better, and although its recurring its always in a different place. Ive also noticed that I went from jumping through air to swimming through air...I cant wait to see whats next!

I wish I would have those... I've had 3 but I always wake myself up by brutally murdering the laws of physics. I never actually remember what happened last time, because I'm still asleep. (They're usually triggered by something that makes no sense at all, so I think it happens when the logical part of my brain turns on while I'm asleep for some reason. Usually, anything that happens in a dream makes perfect sense.)

I've done that. Well, at least once. There was this one long dream I had where I kept waking up in my bed, but either the room would be different each time, or eventually the bed would just be in odd places, like the desert.

I once had a dream where I was dreaming, and when I woke up it was still a dream, and i had to wake up again...it was kinda strange, before I actually woke up, I thought i was awake, and it was like a normal day, until I woke really woke up and realized the day hadnt started yet. My dreams usually include buildings that are very odd layout-wise...and the weird thing is that after I wake up I can usually remember enough about the layout of the building to draw a halfway decent map of it.

I hate when I am slammed in the middle of reality and a dream. It aggrivates me and I feel like killing myself so I can wake up. I've had hives once and that happened. I would dream about some sort of game, get a headache, and scratch myself for a few seconds and go back to the annoying dream. It got bad when I dreamed that thousands of cockroaches crawled all over me. I busted some of my skin and the next morning, my whole face was so puffed up, I could'nt see or hear a thing. I yelled and could'nt hear myself, I thought I was dead. |

Whenever I can dreamcontrol, knowing that i'm in a dream. I get too excited becuse of creating a girl and then waking up... <.< Some of my dreams are so real that it takes a good amount of time after I waked up to realise it wasn't real. (keep in mind, when I just got up. I'm a zombie...) One of my most fun dreams was furry related. Tee-hee. ^___^ |

Originally posted by Kitten Yiffer That's called a Lucid Dream. A Lucid Dream is when you both realise you are dreaming and have the ability to manipulate the world in your dream because you know it doesn't exist. To this day I don't think I've ever had a lucid dream. Dreams can be a number of things. If I remember correctly, you average five a night. Two very short (like 15-minute) ones, one medium (like 35-minute) one, and two long (Like hour-long) ones. Most of the time dreams are just summarizations of what happened during the day mixed in with some random things you have stored in your brain. This is because, as you go through the day, your brain "marks" pieces of information that need to go into long-term memory and then puts them in a "storage bin" organ of the brain until you go to sleep. Then when you go to sleep, it copies the information from that storage bin to your actual long-term memory. The aforementioned "random things" that are mixed in with what happened during the day is a side effect of sleep. While you sleep you start shooting small electircal waves around the brain, triggering random memories. These are then processed by your brain and incorporated into your dream. Dreams can also be an expression of subconcious desires. Read Freud's "Interpretation of Dreams" for more on this. Usually these dreams are very emotionally powerful and very realistic. If they keep on happening, this means that your subconcious is trying to communicate something, and you need to find out what it's saying and fix it. |
