Yea man, I have said that before, numerous times. YOU STUPID IDIOT!! (Just kidding )

But seeing how the series and episodes are laid out, it is no doubt that it has pulled in many viewers. However, with an American release, it's kind of hard to foresee how it will do in America, but it DOES have a lot of good points that its American viewers should look for.

I've never really gotten the whole gist of the anime though ... like what's the setting, basic storyline, etc?

All I know is ... it has something to do with ... Alchemistry/Alchemy maybe!?

It has an odd storyline. It's about a boy and his brother who attemp to resurrect their mother. The older brother loses his arm trying to resurrect her, the younger brother loses his entire body, but not his soul. The older brother (Edward/Ed) transmutes (uses alchemy) to bind his younger brother (Alphonse/Al)'s life to a suit of armor, but loses his arm in the process. Ed gets a new metal arm and leg, and they set out on a journey to get back what they lost (Al's body and Ed's arm and leg). This really isn't a tenth of the story, but it's the beginning.

everyone download this, especially Xeogred, as he's new to the series (note, it doesn't really contain spoilers, disregard the thing at the beginning)

I'm a very upset pony because suposedly ep 54 would be the last, but it's ep 51 instead, and I just saw ep 51.

I'm a bit mixed after seeing the ending. I won't spoil anything, but I'd like to know if anyone else was a bit upset after seeing it.
animenfo says there'll be a movie in 2005. I hope they're right.

Yeah, everyone's pretty sure there's going to be a movie.

I liked the ending, it was very emotional. Too bad it ended so early . I wish they continued the series after the movie.

I hear that the dubs aren't that bad. I just hope they show the uncut shows on Adult Swim =/.

They probably will cut some stuff ... I think at the end of Cowboy Bebop they took out the blood when Vicious kills the 3 Dragon Leaders. (something along the lines of that...)

But still, it's no Toonami-Extreme editing.

Yes, there IS a movie coming out soon. I was however, more happy after seeing the final episode.

Yea, the ending made me really realize that the series actually ended. There are some anime that just don't really end. And it tied up all the loose ends.

I think they did a very good job of ending everything without making it seem rushed. A trifle to accomplish =\.

they never really acomplished their main goal which was getting their bodies back to normal and still be together, no?

Too bad there won't be more. I want more

I thought that the first ep was pretty groovey, I'm hoping to pick up the last 14 that didn't come with the DL pack I grabbed.

I thought that the first episode was also quite good, but you really need to watch more of it to really see how amazing it is. You learn that it actually tells how/why things happen, so things don't just fly out of the ground for no reason .

Eck, I really hope they show unedited episodes on Adult Swim. The Toonami version will suck undoubtedly .

And let me tell you, Funimation FINALLY did something right.

I particularly like Ed's voice, it definitely fits his personality. Although the dialogue is different from what I heard (read?) in the sub, it's pretty much the same. Just syntaxed differently for american audiences. But something feels a little off...

I'll have to see more of it to figure that one out.
