Well, I supose the fansubbers will be happy that the end is near for this series (currently at 49/52).
I'm just wondering who else has been following it, and liked it.
I had my doubts when I started to watch it, because 52 episodes is pretty long for anime series, and I had slight nightmares about the likely high ammount of fillers there would be.
The funny thing is, that I can only remember one episode that really dissapointed me due to great lack of story, which was the episode about the ghost warehouse.
The animation is usually fairly fluent, there's comedy, a good story and lots of action, woven together in such a way that there's plenty of all, but never annoyingly much.
The music during the episodes always fits the scenes, which might be because there's alot of it. Really alot.
There's a few hard to believe things that come to mind (such as Izumi's condition, haha), but the creators somehow manage to keep you watching and wanting more anyways. I am buying this if it ever gets released for my DVD zone. It's that good and I'm wondering why there's no thread on it yet

A short intro, for anyone who might be intrested:

(you can also see this in the first episode, which is why I am not using spoilertags)

Edward and Alphonse Elric are two brothers interested in alchemy, mostly because their always absent father is a state certified alchemist.
Alchemy works with a single principle; for everything you wish to gain, you need to trade something on of equal value.
When their mother dies and they're basically on their own, they can't get through their sorrow and decide to make use of a forbidden branch of alchemy; human transmutation (basically ressurect the dead). They fail horribly, and as a result, Ed loses an arm and a leg, and Al loses his entire body (Ed binds his soul to an empty armor).
The brothers go on a journey to find the Philosopher's stone, which allows an alchemist to ignore the principle of equivalent trade, and hopefully retrieve their bod(il)y (parts) back.

Well of course there will be crappy dubs. It's gonna be released by FUNIMATION!! Anyway, I've been following this anime since the very first episode when I read two sentences about it in Newtype Magazine. It has not disappointed me since, just a show with many plot twists.

I'm downloading the first 40 episodes of the series. When it is done, I will voice my opinion.

Son of a bitch....

A long time ago, I tried downloading this. And when it was finally done, I started watching it and to my horror, it was in fucking Spanish. I hate you Suprnova.

Flash forward to a few days ago...

I download the first 15 episodes. Start to watch the first one and I notice it looks a bit odd.

Then the title screen pops up.

Full Metal Panic.

Mother fucker.

Full Metal Panic is pretty good too, so you didn't commit too big of a booboo
I downloaded an episode in Spanish too sometime ago.
I'm only allowed to watch it now, not download it
for people who use BT to get the episodes, and rather not have Spanish subbed episodes, here are the groups from whom we've downloaded English subbed episodes.
[AF-F]
[Akeep_ANBU]
[Aoi-Anime]
[Fork]
[Sonchou]
[Spoon]

They sometimes change their names slightly or work together with other groups, but all of these will be English. Just don't get too confused with the namechanges some characters get under different groups.
(especially Winry/Winly seems to be undecided officially so far :-/)

...my friends would tear you dub bashers apart like woah

From what i've heard the dub is actually not bad at all.

I <3 this series despite my lack of watching it recently.

Yep, I loved the dub for Full Metal Alchemist. ADV have liscenced it for the UK, and it's getting a release in March.

I'm well used to shelling out for series that are 52 episodes long, the last one was Gundam Wing which was a mighty 11 DVDs.

Well for those of you who didn't read my post about the downloads(obviously a lot), I'll put it here. You can find subs for FMA here. Yea, I'm pretty lenient with this stuff. Holy Shit! Episode 50 is up!

I can't remember where I start downloading FMA, to be honest...

I usually start looking at Animesuki's links to BitTorrents.

Well, I don't know which episodes you need, but I hope this helps... Torrents for episodes 32-42. For more episodes, go to mirkx or check up on programs like mIRC or eMule.

I tend to find older episodes like this:
Go to baka-updates.com
Find the series and subgroup
If they have a site, go to their site
99% of the time, they'll have a section with BT links and hopefully how many seeders/leechers there are.
Another way is to check on suprnova.org; but make sure you're downloading eps subbed in a language you understand (I've seen Spanish and French subs there too )

A-Keep & ANBU was the best group up to ep32 or whenever it was licensed, after that they kinda formed Spoon because they have Funimation. Spoon is at least as good as A-Keep & ANBU was but is a lot slower. I've only watched up to ep45 because of this. I can't wait til FMA stops airing though.. because that is when Gundam Seed Destiny starts .

Well from what I've heard Funimation has licensed this anime for Adult Swim ...

That doesn't really interest me, I think I'll just stick to watching it subbed. Soon though, I haven't seen it yet!

I hear it's easily one of the best animes out there.
