Kalar: "Yeah, she's not too nice to me as it is. I swear, these mythical beings take things so seriously sometimes... I just asked where she got her dress, and suddenly there was a bright flash of light, some laughter, and the last thing I can remember is waking up without my undershirt."

He then notices the mask...

"Another mask? What's that one do? Turn you into a fairy?"

Kirbynite looks at Kalar through the eye holes of the mask.

Kirbynite: Not really. She told me that it'll help me look for them. I think it's supposed to make a sound, or something...

Ka'ae: ... Mask... She uses the power of that mask to do such terrible things..

Kirbynite: Huh?

Ka'ae: I was just remembering what my brother said. The swamp, mountains, ocean, and canyon.... I bet he was telling us about the four areas on the outside of this town. But what did he mean about "Them"? I swear.. that little brat likes to skip on details..

Kirbynite was calming down a bit as he tried to figure out what to do. This all seemed very familar to him, but he still doesn't know why.

Kirbynite: Maybe we should.. go look for who your brother was talking about. It's quite apparent that we're gonna be stuck in this land, and we're not gonna have enough time to prepare a real attack on the girl normally.

Ka'ae: How about we go to the swamp?

Kirbynite: I guess..

Ka'ae: It's just south of this town.

Kirbynite: Alrighty...

Kalar scoffed at Kirbynite's reply.

Kalar: "Ha, not likely. I know this land a little: Chances are it'll take us a full day just to get there. We need a better mode of transportation. Even if we could run faster, or something, that'd be useful. But right now? We need more time. A lot more time."

Kirbynite: A full day? Awwww...

Kirbynite let out a little sigh as he walked towards the town center. He knew something was familar about this town he was in. But was it only familar because it was built in similar fashion to--

Kirbynite: Wait! I got it! They've got to have people shipping in stuff, right? We walked all over this town before, and it was obvious that they can't supply themselves with stuff like vegetables and milk. Maybe we could bum a ride with one of the shippers?

Continuing with his flow of thinking, the Dreamlander walked up to one of the nearby carpenters.

Kirbynite: Excuse me.. Mister?

Carpenter: Sorry, kid. I'm a bit busy.

Kirbynite: Er.. sorry...

Not ready to give up, Kirby decides to ask the head carpenter.

Kirbynite: Excuse me, Mister..

Carpenter Boss: Kaaaaaaah!

Kirbynite: ..

Carpenter Boss: I bet you're thinking I'm not busy. Well, you're wrong! I'm supervising the construction, here.

Kirbynite: .... But.. yeah, as I was saying..

Carpenter Boss: ...

Kirbynite: Do you know of anyone with a ride that leaves and comes to this town soon?

Carpenter Boss: Hm.. *scratches head* You know, I know that Romani Ranch should be delivering some milk to the Milk Bar.. That'll be tomorrow evening.

Kirbynite: Argh.. that's not gonna do it. Thanks anyway.

The pink creature slouches forward as he walked back to the others.

Kirbynite: Alright.. I've got one last plan. Someone wears the Deku Mask, and I can carry him on my back. *dull look* I don't have a lot of energy to use, so I can't pull that same stunt I did back in the SF Survivor, but I'm still the fastest. Me and the one with the Deku mask can move on ahead. Or we can steal some wood from the carpenters and make a cheap wagon.

Kalar: "I really think the best idea here would be to find some way to run faster. We should also probably go around, learning whatever we can learn about the rest of this place so that we have a better idea of that "Swamp, mountains, ocean, and canyon" that the flying thingy was babbling about. Get a lay of the land, so to speak. I only really know the regions just outside Clock Town, and I've been to Romani Ranch once..."

He folded his hands behind his head and looked at the sky. The moon was inching ever closer...

Kalar soon felt a tiny creature nipping at his head.

Ka'ae: We are dragons! Dragons!

Kirbynite: *sweatdrop* Uh.. well.. What about we just split up, then? You guys can go talking with the townsfolk, looking for information, while I go on ahead. I can look for Romani Ranch. If it's got ranch in the name, they're bound to have some animals we can ride. Maybe I can cut a deal with them. If not.. I'll go snooping around in the swamp. I mean.. I really think one of us should be atleast looking for information over there.

JDavis: Wait-a-sec... Romani? I... feel like I should recognize it... Guts?

Guts: Romani, noun. One, a gypsy. Two, the Indic language of the Gypsies. Also called Gypsy. Adjective, of or relating to the Gypsies or their language or culture.

JDavis: ... No, no, no. I feel like it's a person's name, and I should recognize who it is, but I can't.

Guts: *shrug* Beats me.

Kirbynite: Well, of course it's a person's name. I mean.. It's gotta be named after someone, right? Like.. uh.. Like take Lonlon ranch, for example. *scratches head* Wait.. that doesn't make too much sense.. Unless Talon had Ma.. Ma.. What was her name?! Holy Cucco, I know who she is, but I can't... remember her.

The Dreamlander looks at the southern exit. The soldier standing guard stares back at Kirby.

Kirbynite: Guys.. I think I want to head to Romani Ranch first. Maybe the answer to why everything seems so familar to me might be there.

Kalar: "There's a lot of chickens, there... There's supposedly some kind of problem with the milk deliveries, too. I tried to help them, but it really didn't work out too well. The cart I was riding on kept getting attacked by bandits, and I sure as hell can't take them all on alone, no matter what they're willing to pay me. I'm... not really that good at fighting, you see. And dammit, they're scary bastages!"

He shudders as he tries to remember what the bandits were like...

"They wear some messed up masks, too. And they ride horses like you wouldn't believe! The only way I could even come close to getting them away was by hitting them from a distance, and I'm a crappy shot, for sure."

His leg creaked a bit as he stepped off in the direction of the ranch...

"But now that I have some help, I bet we can get it done, since technically I never failed to do it in the first place."

However, he stopped a few steps into his journey, and remembered something...

"Ah, dammit, I forgot about the rock! There's this gigantic rock blocking the way into the ranch, and nobody even cares enough to blow it up until like, right before the moon hits this place! We'll have to find some way to waste two days if we really want to go there."

Kirbynite: *quirks a brow* Giant rock, you say? That should be no problem for ol' Guts... uh... in his Gutsman form, that is. Come, lead the way. *looks at Kalar* I'm sure it's not that much of a walk.

Kirbynite stepped towards the southern exit, getting close to the guard.

Guard: You are not allowed to pass through here without an adult or until you are old enough to carry a weapon.

Kirbynite: What? Look, pal, I'm old enough to not be a minor in any country.

Guard: It is dangerous outside the town walls, so I cannot allow a child like you to......A sword?

Kirbynite: Hm? Oh.. yeah.. My sword. See? I carry a weapon.

Guard: My apologies, sir. It was wrong of me to treat you like a child.

Kirbynite: *dull look* And those other guys are with me.

Guard: Good luck on whatever errand you have. *stands off the side*

The guard simply fell to the ground and curled up in a ball.

Kirbynite: Did you really have to do that? Well... whatever..

The scene beyond the town opened up to a vast, grassy field. There were a few weird looking slimes rolling around some bits of tall grass, as well as a vulture flapping around. There were lots of trees in the distance, most likely covering the entrance to the swamp. Near the trees were a few walls with a road paved into it.

Kirbynite: That must be where the ranch is. Oh please, it doesn't look like it's gonna take a long time to get over there. I'd say half a day.

JDavis: Nah, I'd say a couple hours at most. At a walking pace, and assuming we don't stop to fight any creatures. Too bad this is an alternate dimension, and we thus can't just beam over there.

Guts: Oh! I know what might be helpful! While you guys were busy grabbing the Moon Tear thing, the scarcrow guy said somthing to me about a song that makes time go slower... I can't remember exactly.

As the group made their way to the ranch, a discussion of the flow of time was clearly on its way...

Kalar: "Not necessarily. Time has a strange way of working. Perhaps the song just makes our bodies, which are obviously outside of the flow of time in this world, move faster through time while the rest of the world stays the same? If that song you played earlier (or later, depending on how you want to look at it...) can make us move backward in time, I bet playing it backwards, or a few times in quick succession, or with all the notes messed up, might really screw up our own perspective on the time stream!"

He rested his hands behind his head, and looked up at the daylight sky, where the moon stared down at the group menacingly.

"Though, with that thing looming above us, I'd put my money more toward it bringing us closer to our doom if we don't watch out..."

Kirbynite: Ooooh... Maybe I should try that... But that sorta makes sense. But... How would that affect everyone else, like the NPCs? I can clearly see we're labeled as the heroes, since we still seem to remember everything. Ooooh! Maybe the Goddess of Time is doing this! Maybe she'll allow everyone else to act like normal! It'll be just like how people say: this hour seems to be going on forever'!

Nothing really got in the way of the group. Not a creepy looking slime, nor a vulture. However, that vulture seemed like it wanted to steal something...

Kirbynite: Um... yeah... about that moon... It's already done it.

The ranch walls greeted everyone with a much cleaner pathway. The bushes were neatly cut alongside the road. The dirt road had a healthy shade to it. The path split into two a few meters forward. The plant-life seems to sorta wilt along the left path, while the path on the right was blocked by a huge boulder. There was a man working hard to clear the path.

Kirbynite: ... aw man. It's blocked.

JDavis: Uh, I thought we already knew that!

Gutsman: Alright! It's go time!

Gutsman, who had returned to his robotic form while nobody was looking (so I wouldn't have to describe the transformation here, because I'm lazy), ran up to the large boulder. Not knowing what the crazy robot was up to, the guy who had been picking away at the boulder quickly got out of the way. Gutsman squatted next to the boulder, and with little effort, lifted it from the ground and held it aloft over his head.

Gutsman: I still got it!

With a single hand, he tossed the boulder aside, back toward the field from which our group had just come. After flying through a certain green-dressed man's balloon, which popped of course, it flew out of sight...

----------

Back in Termina Field...

Takkuri the Vulture: Drat, that group got away before I could try to steal anything from them... I had better start looking for another sucker that I can- WHAT THE!?

A large flying boulder suddenly hit Takkuri, flattening him against a gigantic hollowed log before bouncing off.

Takkuri:

Teddylot, being one to wander when things got boring, had scurried through the woods until he reached the hollow log Takkuri, the vulture, was flattened against. He looked on the ground around him and picked up a small stick with a little length to it. He subsequently used it to poke at the ominous bird.

Teddylot: Hmm ... I wonder if I could roast this baby.

Kirbynite started to scratch the back of his head when he looked at JDavis.
Kirbynite: I.. er.. seriously didn't expect it to be blocked.

Tingle: Oooooh..

Kirbynite walked through the cleared path. His view was greeted by a vast, hilly field. There were a few occasional moos in the distance. There was also a little red headed girl running around with a dog barking at a balloon.

Kirbynite: ... This feels so nostalgic somehow.
