I'd like to think of this as a congradulatory thread to Clockworkz's site (Congrats on 1,000 htis, may you get 2,500)

...and to mine (yay .. uh ... 800? or almost 2,500 for the non-unique ) but this also serves anohter purpose instad of just yay hits:

I'm actually wondering how the newer design looks, because if it's good enough I have a new post layout at my fingertips, and I'm quite fond of how it looks (and so is windwaker, Cheveyo, Devin, Imajin... etc)

So if there's anything you don't like / think could be improved, feel free to comment on the news item or post here

Oh, yeah... The hack archive table design is under reconstruction (a lot of stuff has been combinded and it works better, takes less space for lower resolutions) and note the "Broken in all browsers" button

Lest we forget the best of all... whoever can point out where the BG came from gets a cookie ^^

----------------
Clarificationary edit: The reason this isn't in M. Art is because I hate that forum (web pages don't nessacarily count as 'art' to me) and I find the LT crew to genearally be not be assholes about everything. Get your ass back here, Cheveyo/Imajin/Etc

Besides, I'd like to end today (for me) with a new, non-clsoed thread :p

EDIT: ARRGH... Evididently more views came from MSNBots than I thought (googlebots are okay, I don't mind them) but in any case:

Deleted rows: 198

Someone may have noticed it jumped from 800+ to 624, that's why. Oh well, it's alright to get rid of non-human views

EDIT ARRRGH 2: Evidently, view 500 after that went to a bot () so looking at the next view:

IP 222.145.173.90

So whoever ha(s/d) that IP is a winner

I saw your website yesterday and looks fine to me. But I've got one simple suggestion: Hide this "(Post New)" link, I think it's not a good idea at all to let people know you can post news from there, even with a password.

And where exactly would you recommend putting it? I don't have a spiffy admin panel you know

The only problem I see with your site is it's never updated (one month and counting) ... yes, I know that my site went through the EXACT same thing (didn't update it for a month) but still

My site was at 820, I deleted all of the "msnbot" users, went to 640, and is now back at 800 even... and recently it's been updated almost twice daily, with work being done and new hacks, too

If you were using a real host that allows php and you had a MySQL database I could give you an incomplete copy of LameNews 0.75b (the one I'm running), the only thing missing is an archive

Just give some news on what you're doing, progress... I know the Z3C page has a 'weekly diary' to tell about what he's doing That may be a nice idea.

I have a tendency to start websites, update them about every day for about three days, then every half-week, then every week, then maybe once every two months, than they slowly fade away...

I've noticed that happens to a lot of websites...I wonder why. Maybe because they quickly run out of useful things to put in updates.

That reason, Banedon, is precicely why I have some staff with me (Cheveyo, Lenophis, windwaker, and Imajin) to continuously bug me aobut this, and they can even upload things should I vanish.

Although I closely monitor said uploading.

And Clockworkz, it looks like my site's almost at 1000, too

Erm...Somehow, I don't think that would work too well...this might result in you uploading things that you don't want to have uploaded...unless you tell them to upload something instead...although I still have doubts as to whether or not this whole thing would work well...

How do you go about monitoring their uploads?

Yes...your site will have 1000 hits soon...uh...good for you...or something...

Simple. I log onto my FTP client (<3 Filezilla), check the upload folder (/files, in this case) and if there's anything other than PNGs, ZIPs, and the ocassional PHP file (me only) then blam, it's gone.

Not only that but soon I'm going to check filesizes and types

Well... I want people to submit their hacks so I can post them... but I'm not getting any. I also haven't made any signifigant progress on the hack I'm working on, so... yeah.
EDIT: Better? Go to the site, now.

That's the thing. I originally had that 'submit them and added' idea, then dropped it.

Now I just pick hacks out of Rom hacking boards and add them in at my lesiure. If they don't want it shown, it gets removed.
