I have downloaded The Matrix revolutions because I haven't seen the movie yet. Well, after a few hours of downloading I had the movie and tried to play it, the movie is really fucked up. Big parts of the screen don't refresh correctly when the camera moves or any person on the screen, you see a talking guy textured with the textures from the previous frame and such. Now, is this a codec problem or just a bad movie? I have the laste DivX Pro drivers. P.S. I tried burning it to CD because that helped the last time with my DVD player. Didn't work this time though. :\ |

Sounds like a slow comp with a very high-res movie. That or whoever ripped it sucks at it. I highly doubt it's a codec problem. You could attempt to run it through a movie editor and drop the quality down (if it's close to a gig or so in size...more than likely it's overquality) and see if that doesn't work. If it doesn't you're SOL. EDIT: Also, what are you using it to view it? If you're using Winamp, I'd advise against it and use something like Media Player Classic. It isn't a slow computer though :p 3200+ 64 bit. The movie is split in two parts, each 700 MB, what kind of movie editing programs do you mean and how do I drop the quality? |

VirtualDub or VideoMach II. Either or. And if it's a movie split into two parts of that magnitude...someone's a sucky ripper and it's overquality. Matrix Revolutions is what...and hour and a half...two hours...most I should see for that in DivX/XviD form is about 400-500 megs, if that.

In the Video menu, you must first select "Full Processing Mode". Then, in the video menu, select Compression. A dialog box "Select Video Compression" will pop up. Choose the codec you want to encode the movie into. If you select DivX Code, then when you click configure, you will be able to set the bitrate of the video. Lowering of that value lowers the quality of the video.

Thx! But I also noticed that VirtualDub can play it without any problems =O Too bad it doesn't seem to have a fullscreen mode, but I'll watch the movie in there. |
