I'm running into another problem. Backrounds. I want to create backrounds from smb1 and 2. I've downloaded some ExGFX from the link that this site has. Now some of the .zip's contain more than one map16, EX "map16.bin" "map16g.bin" I've been using the one without the "g" to insert the 16x16 tile editor. Now, some seem to appear, while some don't. This is what I did for smb2world1 ExGFX, I hope I've been on the right page I renamed "smb2world1.bin" to "ExGFX80bin", and I placed it in the ExGFX folder I moved "map16.bin" to where my rom was, and I loaded it into my 16x16 tile editor. I scrolled down to the 3rd page in the tile editor, pressed F3, it was inserted, but look like garbage. I hit F9 to save it. Then I went into the Red Mushroom, and checked off the bypass thingy, and where it said FG, I scrolled down to ExGFX80. Than everything on my level turned into rubbish. But when I went into the 16x16 tile editor, and went to the third page, all the smb2world1 graphics were not garbage anymore! But some of the original graphics on the first 2 pages of the 16x16 tile editor were garbage. Is that normal? Now, what I just described, I tried to do the exact same thing for the smb1 ExGFX. But all it comes out as is garbage. I'd like to know if I'm on the right page, or if I'm missing a step, doing something wrong etc etc. I extremely appreciate your help and advice. Thank You. |

It's just normal when stuff turns into garbage. The SNES can only handle a limited amount of graphics at a time. Therefore, you have to sacrify some graphics, which causes the garbage.

also, where can I find the cherries from mario 2? they're not included in the ExGFX of smb2 world 1. Also, how can I edit the sprites? It seems I can only edit backround items on the 16x16 tile editor. I used CTRL/SHIFT/PGDWN to unlock the 16x16 tile editor, and I wanted to use the phantoms from smb2. I appreciate your help guys!! Thank You for helping me out!!

You can't edit the sprites with LM; FuSo just included that so if you were to edit them some other way you could make them look how they're supposed to in LM. Changing that has no actual effect on the ROM. (edited by Kratos Aurion on 09-14-04 11:33 AM) |
