I want to know if there is a way to make my sound louder for my headphones. I turned the volume up on the media player and on the Volume Control for Windows, can I MAKE IT LOUDER!!!!

If your sound is at the max for Volume Control and Wave (or MIDI/Synth/etc. if it's something else, or CD) then I would worry if you're deaf. What exactly are we talking here? For Winamp, you could easily get a few plugins past the equalizer already given. Quite possibly, your headphones blow. |

No, I think he's talking about how some songs are very tame, even when turned up to max while others are BLARING.

Well, if it's a poorly made MP3...just get a sound editor and Maximize/Normalize the sound and see if that doesn't work.

There are some cards that won't go louder. I have a sound card on my old p2-400 running windows XP and the volume can barely be heard without external volume magnification. so, if he wants headphones to be louder, unless the headphones can magnify the volume on his own...he is out of luck.

Some sound cards have line-level output and will never get very loud (like neotransotaku's; these require powered speakers), some have amplified output, and some are selectable (my old Sound Blasters had a jumper that would select either line-level or amplified output). It sounds like his card is of the first variety. I think Radio Shack might sell small amplifiers for use with headphones, or maybe even powered headphones. |
