I started at a pool hall in Manayunk, PA. I use to go there to play pool all the time. A friend of a friend owned the place. I eventually became friends with him. I stopped in one day and saw him playing The Adventure of Lolo on his PC. I asked him where he got it and he said his friend did. He told me they were called roms so I did a search on the net and found CG. This was in 97 or 98. It's been so long.

My sister got me into emulation. I saw her playing Mario brothers or something (I forget what the game was). After that, I found out how to find that stuff myself. This had to have been around 98 or so. My searches led me to Zophar's Domain, and ZD eventually led me to Acmlm's

I was and still am a huge Zelda fan (hence my title and sig). The best site for Zelda news is The Legends of Zelda. There is a place for emulation there. I found Zophar's Domain. Then a kid at my school gave me a disc with over 100 GBA ROM's. I got into Zophar's Domain and learned about ROM hacking.

Notice the emulation section... First learned about emulation there in December of 2000. A little less than two months later, I somehow end up here. It was in a Google search for SMB3 hacks.

Back in 1999(or 98), my bro just showed me what he downloaded. It was NESticle and Mighty Final Fight. That game was really coo.

Back in 2000, I stumbled across a way to play broken copies of FF6. I stopped after that

I'm so lost nowadays that I need people to point my nose where the stuff is. >.<

In either my junior or senior year in high school, the computer guy (nearly every school has one) told me to check out what was on his screen. It was Final Fantasy 3/6 for SNES playing it on ZSNES. I asked him a ton of questions about it and later on he found Zelda BS. Later that day, in computer class, I found Loopynes and a few roms from a site (which doesn't exist anymore). Mike Tyson's Punch Out!! was the big thing for our high school. Kinda surprised everyone went into it as much as they did.

When I began hacking... that's for another thread...

Well heres how it happend for me:
There was a strange program on the schools computer, I opened it and it told me to pick a number(1 for smb, 2 for smb2, 3 for smb3, 4 for punch out, ect...) I picked a number and it opened the game in Nesticle, I thought it was so cool because smb3 was always my favorite game back when I was real young, I tryed to save the program to a floppy but it was too big. That day I went home and searched for the program on yahoo, couldn't find it, so I typed nesticle, and my life was forever changed.

I think my best friend IRL had told me about it. I pissed my pants when I learned what it was, being able to play FF6 on my computer and stuff. This is also how I learned about the other FF games in the series, and found lots of other cool games to play that I never heard of.

Like ChaosForce, I had been an avid reader of EGM. One day I saw a little box talking about Challenge Games. I had been obsessed that I could play modified NES games ever since (ironically, I got a taste of rom hacking before emulation XD), and to SMB3C, I had to get into emulation, and the rest, as they say (and CF says) is history.

Most of my friends got to know emulation because of me, I showed it to them. Not like they wouldn't have gotten in touch with it without me.
