I remember seeing a kid at a cyber cafe when i was younger playing pokemon red/blue and i asked him how he did it and he told me it was an emulator with roms , so when i went home i just searched for emulator, rom and found quite a lot of information.

I was looking at a Chrono Trigger fan site and it happened to have a link to you know what.

I once randomely searched for Super Mario Bros. 3 and then came upon Rom Hacking at CGC, from there I learned up on Emulation, Rom Hacking, and stuff like that, I'd say at least 3 years ago.

But I had known about Emulation for quite some time, my dad being a big fan of old school Atari games had MAME on his computer and showed it to me once.

A friend showed me way back in 1996, but I didn't really try it myself until 98-99, and I only play occasionally in very intense periods (a few hours per day for a few weeks or so).

I believe back towards the end of 1999, after I got my first computer, I found GameFaqs and after seeing many of the FAQs I read mention emulation and roms, so I did a search on emulation and stumbled upon Zophar and ZSNES.

I can't quite recall how I first came into the realm of emulation, but I do remember that the first emulator I used was NESticle.

I think I saw emulation for the first time around 1997-1998. But how I started to play it...

My dad's fault. He downloaded some NES games 1998 (or maybe it was 1999? heh) . He lost intrest in it quite fast.

Then it took years for me to download SNES emulator, summer 2002 did I download one becuse I wanted to try out Lunar magic which looked nice (and I were lurking on the board back then). I didn't download them before becuse I found SNES "too new". Now I don't that much anymore. Thought I can honestly say that all my GBA roms do I actually own.

Well, in 5th or 6th grade, I'm pretty sure what I did was I wanted to play Chrono Trigger, since I didn't actually own it for the SNES. And considering I knew the Internet had EVERYTHING, I searched for it on the 'net... and found the Cult of Kefka... a ROM site that was shut down because... well, it was a ROM site. At the time though, it was up, and had (what I thought) was a TON of SNES ROMs. So, that's how I got started with emulation.

One of my friends had a NES emulator in his computer once and i asked him were he got it. He told me and I downloaded it. But the only roms on that page was SMB1 and Zelda 1. When I completed them i looked for more and i found Zophar...
That's how I began...

First emulator I ever used was NO$GMB. How the times have changed... VBA beats that emulator quite a ways in terms of compatibility.

I was in 5th grade. I searched up "game downloads" and... well, found a ROM site and got into it.

I never use VBA for GB emulation. But heh...

I wonder which GB emulator that is the best, maybe I should do an thread about it...

The first emulator I used was Genecyst to play Sonic 2 Beta back around 1999.

And then Gens came out and now I use that for Genesis emulation.

I asked about it on GameFAQs, I asked where I could find them (Unfortunately) but the topic was deleted about 4-5 Months later, lazy mods

First Emulator: ZSNES
First ROM: Super Mario Allstars, I soon upgraded to Allstars+World

I believe all threads at GameFAQs are deleted after a certain amount of time with no replies...

Ah, yes, GameFAQs. I like that place!

Except is Karma = EXP here? I mean, you get 1 Karma every XXXX.XXXms. Does it vary by level/postcount/rank?

I've made about 35000 posts at GameFAQs since 1998.

My brother showed me Nesticle, back in 199x. Before I was at this board. I downloaded it, got roms for it, and the rest was history.

Now, later, I wanted to make my own roms, so I did some searching, and I found YY-Map, and I loved it! Later, I stumbled onto this site. Poink, here I am!
