Ugh! I can never get these to play on my computer. Not the feature, that works fine. I couldn't care less about that though. Whenever I try to listen to it like I would a normal cd, I can't because it wont list the tracks. Like, I'll put the cd in, add that directory to winamp, and it will stay blank. I have a lot of cd's that are like this. I've tried in in Media Player too and I got the same problem. Is there a way to fix this without downloading some thrid party software? I just want to listen to it normally. |

"Enhanced CD" isn't any standard... but the couple CDs that I have and are labeled as such are only mixed-mod CD-ROMs. ISO9660 filesystem at the beginning (for Windows autostart, QuickTime and crap) and audio after. Can you play them in a CD player like a boom box? |

Originally posted by FreeDOS Yeah, I have absolutely no problems playing them in any other audio type device such as that and walkmans. It's just a PC I'm having a problem with. It works fine with older enhanced CD's but not ones that have come out in the past ohhhh....two years or so. |

You dont put the folder in Winamp. You click the "Play" menu then "Audio CD D:".

I was more or less surprised that it was that simple and I can actually listen to all my cd's on my comp now. This isn't the first thread I've made about this subject. I've made many on several other message boards before and NEVER got a proper answer. It amazes me how simple the answer was the whole time. |

Yeah, that really is a titanic pain in the ass when the answer's so simple. I had the same problem (and when I got the answer, the same reaction) too.

My brother and I both had a problem recently with Windows 98 doing its BSOD thing in DirectX applications, and then proceeding to corrupt the registry after rebooting. I looked all over the net for a solution, finding several EXACT matches (wow, that doesn't happen very often) for the VXD error I was getting, right down to the last number, but NOBODY had a solution, other than the same old worn-out "check your BIOS settings," "check for spyware," "do a virus scan," "check your system temperature," and the ever-so-hated "reinstall Windows." Like a broken record. The solution? Reinstalling my previous video drivers. Apparently, the latest ForceWare update is a little screwed, yet it's WHQL certified. NO ONE was able to figure that one out. The moral of the story? It's ALWAYS the simplest solution. |
