I watched about 37 minutes of the (2 hr) seminar. It was pretty much what I expected. I don't respect the speaker, he appears to have a high school level background in science and yet he uses twisted, bizarre logic (and the Bible of course) to mock people who actually have a real education. That is just arrogant IMO.

I just love how creationists can base all of their arguments regarding the nature of the universe and man, on a character that they can't actually prove exists.

It's a theory, but science is more sound and believable than religion in my mind....

Hmm, seems I missed a lot of fun after I went to bed last night! I am, however, very very pleased to see another Christian who understands that theolgy and science can mix. Bravo to you! As for the Earth being 6000 years old, you better have the damn verse that says "GOD CREATED EARTH 6000 YEARS AGO" or *buzzer sound* sorry, please try again. You can't argue with science, so please stop trying. And Acid Man...yes I know we creationists believe in God, and that he greated the heavens and the Earth...but while we can't prove God ~does~ exist, you can't prove he doesn't. Until then, I guess we all have to let bygones be bygones. You can't prove it either way, so I say we relish in science and enjoy what we find out. Btw....POLO! |

Originally posted by Lunar Depths Whilst I can completely agree with what you say here, with respect, the burden of proof is not on me. Unless somebody can undeniably prove the existance of God to me, and he tells me that the Bible is in fact the holy word, and not just a bunch of nice stories, I'll stick to being a believer in the Norse Gods. At least they supposedly do interesting things, like drink all day. |

I suppose that depends on what version of "burden of proof" you believe. Innocent until proven guilty, or guilty until proven innocent. But I can understand your stance, it's a lot safer to not believe in God, so meh, we all make our choices. Personally, I don't think there will ever be proof one way or another, at least not until the end days when two dead men will come back to life. We'll see I guess, if that even happens in our lifetime, but once again I go back to religion! Anyway, I just wanted to say thanks for being intelligent about it =D I dislike people who are like "You're different, you suck" so thanks for not being a moron. Have an awesome day!

Originally posted by Lunar Depths It doesnt actually SAY that the Earth is 6000 years old, but it DOES give you numbers to add up. It says that adam had a kid at a certain age and then it goes on to say that kid had a kid at a certain age and it goes and goes until Jesus. This allows you to pinpoint the approximite date of many events in the bible. |

Ok god created Earth 6000 years ago....I asume that also means the universe as you say the moon and the sun were created at the same time and all that. But I ask you what about the other stars in the universe. Science has proven that there is a constant speed of light, 299 792 458 m/s. There are stars out thier that are thousands of "light years" away, for example lets go with 17,000 light years, that means it took the light from that Star 17 thousand years to reach us....so the universe is older than 6000 years as we know of stars that near the millions on light years away....cant recall thier names right now, you ask and i will go search for them more thurowly! The universe is more than 6000 years old as the speed of light is a near constant....

They can't actually prove how far away stars are or how long it takes for them to get here. God created everything that is, before him there was nothing. Oh yeah, Christianity and Science? Ummmm, no. |

ok...What created God, if you have any belief in science...and you must because you use a computer you know that something must always come first....What created God...

Okay... If they can't actually prove how far away the stars are, I have a challenge for you. Prove to us that you exist. While you're at it, prove that the earth and sun exist, too.

Originally posted by Skreename That actually kind of supports my point. I can't really prove that to anyone, just like they can't prove how far away stars are. Man, I hate these kinds of questions. God was. |

I dont really want to prove Christianity here. What I want to do is make you Evolutionists out there admit that what you believe in is a religion. |
