Well is it good or bad? I think it's annoying when my music I'm listening to gets overlapped by some stupid MIDI. What do you guys think?

Music on a webpage is a no-no, whether it's a midi, wav, flash 'movie', etcetera. I like to put on my winamp when I'm on the computer, while I'm on the computer it's constantly running. The last thing I want is to hear some (usually annoying) unwanted theme put on a webpage playing through my music. Second, music files usually take longer to load than the whole webpage, including images, together. It's best to keep webpages fast. |

i really can't find any one who puts music on their website anymore except the old archaic pages that is no longer updated but anyways, no, i don't like music on an HTML page except for maybe a personal one--after all, you don't visit pages like that often |

Background music is awful. It just distracts from the content of the page. Thats it thats all.

Music in an webpage in general is rather terrible, particularly with no start/stop bar.

It annoys the snot out of me. I don't actually have operational MIDI on here at the moment, so I haven't been subjected to very much background music at all, but I have come across a couple of Flash sites that felt the need to provide their own soundtrack. Luckily, they also provided a Stop button, but it was still annoying to be browsing along in peace and quiet and suddenly hear some music start up. Of course, it's even worse when it overlaps music that you were already listening to.

Unwanted MIDIs = Banwidth Killer. I can't see why people like to put them in their websites, it only waste THEIR bandwidth and other people's. |

Then again, on ocassions MIDIs are perfectly fine (namely in a certain comic) when they only start it when requested (IE, clicking a link that will start it) and warns you ahead (this particular one generally puts "(warning: midi music ahead)" before them In other cases, it is bad. <3 the old TC300. One channel sound card. If I am listening to a MP3/'MID already, nothing plays. |

Some put big midis in their wbpages (500kb ~ 1mb), after a while It can do damage (huge wastes). Even putting small midis is bad..... I don't care about something that is more than 100kb large, may it be this or a pic. |
