Got close to have it. But I don't like to not be able to take my time in a game.

I only have one question... Is it really worth it? Ive been thinking about doing an EX2 run sometime here, and want to know if the benefits of doing it will pay off.(Is the sword REALLY special, or is it just a novelty?) |

There's a trick to get it easily. Well, more so than usual. I forgot the exact details, but it involves opening up the disc lid a bunch of times.

It's worth doing for the pride of doing it, the weapon itself makes no good comparison to what you miss for it, especially since it's only got 108 attack power. It's not actually that hard to get, it's just you miss out on all kinds of possibilities.

I agree that Steiner is an inferior character who can't do anything without Vivi at his side, but you don't even want to go for the pride of having finished FFIX in under 11 hours (that's the time limit, right...)? I kinda wish I hadn't gotten rid of IX, I learned about EX2 after I sold it. Of course, if I hadn't I would never have gotten my PS2...

I like Steiner. His techs were reallly strong and I don'T agree that he's nothing without Vivi. He's even stronger.

Got it? Yes. Worth it? No. Stats: Attack: 108, it's not significantly better than Zidane's Ultima Weapon. Nothing special about it. It does have a pale green blade though. Minus Strike, Climhazzard, and Stock Break are the skills you learn. Of course, being Excalibur, it has Holy as an elemental attack. Trick to get it: First set text speed to 1, then (works better with a PS1) when a CG starts, open and close the lid quickly. The CG will be skipped, and time saved. It adds up. But, areas can still load slowly. Might wanna use a PS2, even though the lid trick doesn't work as quickly vs a PS1. But, text doesn't flow as quickly as it should (even though being set to 1). So mash on the X button to quickly get through the text. If you don't know the game, then you have no chance at this. |

Eh, I've tried before. The open the lid trick, I didn't set the text to really fast or anything though so basically the whole time I was hittin that X button countless times. I haven't played FF9 in awhile either but I wouldn't try to get it unless I was really bored. I'd do a lot if I got really bored but I don't anyway. Whenever I did try, I'd stop. I guess I got bored of it or something. That was like 2-3 summers ago. I was still in MS

It's not that hard when you know the 'tricks', such as opening your disc lid to skip an FMV (which matters a lot of time already). I got it, but no, can't really say it's worth it, I had to miss a lot of other stuff to get it. Definately not worth it. |
