| I think that FF7 is a great, and many think like me. But there's still people who say that FF7 is overated. And I chose FF7 because it was , IMO, the FF of which the most people talked of. So what do you think about it? Overated or not? | |||

| I liked the game, I won't lie about it. But I still think it's overrated. There's too many people who think that it's the best game ever made, and that nothing can beat it, yet it has so many - some very obvious - flaws. But no one really seems to notice them except me. Still a great game, just a little overrated. |

| It was my first FF game...orginally played by Chris first (when we first met) as I watched it. Then I played it a bit, but never passed it. Then I played it about a year ago, and did everything that I could in the game and I love it. Not my fave, but it is a damn good game. Overrated, I think so. | |||

| I dont consider FF7 Over or underrated. It got the hype it deserved, and still deserves. Its a great classic to go back and play, and even though it has its flaws, so does every other game. |

| I am kinda indifferent, but I will say that for some crazy people, it is a bit overrated. I kinda understand, though. Those of you who played it when it first came out(like me) found it somewhat incredible after having played the 2d ones. It was so different yet so spectacular. I would sometimes dream about living in that world, without all the sorrow. I admit that I did indeed cry my eyes out when Aeris died.(even though I saw it coming) The game was intense and never have I felt such a rush in ending a game. | |||

| The amount of work that went into Final Fantasy VII is staggering. The artwork, the music (only bettered in FFVI), the new battle system, the FMV, the plot, the characterisation... It's fair to say that FFVII took narative and plot to a new level for RPGs. Sure, an RPG needs neither to be strong, but the ambition was on an incredible scale for the time. It the best in the series in my opinion, but not the best game in the world. The hype, however, is completely justified. |

| Before I heard of Black & White, I used to think that FF7 was the very definition of overrated. Played it... and it's just a run-of-the-mill RPG. It's soundtrack is very blah (One Winged Angel or not) and it's GFX... don't get me started. The story was just plain ridiculous and even if it was original... it was presented in such a way that it felt very tired, cliched, and just plain stupid. The mini-games had a serious lack of depth too. There was not enough unique features about the characters, too. The ONLY difference was merely their limit-break... talking about a let-down after FF6's extra unique characters (some characters had totally different fighting styles and playing the game with different teams added replayability). I could go on for a very long time like that... but I won't. (I can't believe so many people voted "no"... it just proves how overrated it is) |

| Hey actually each character builds stats differently so they are very different. As in Aierth, or however you spell it, gets the best magic of the game and is by far the best caster. While Cloud is obviously the strongest character and doesn't lack in anything really. I will admit that its chracters weren't as different than ff6, but if you look closely you will see major differences. |

| No. If anything, VI is the most overrated in the series, although it isn't as bad now (Iwas actually around for the initial "OMG BSET GAME EVAR!11!" for FFVII, and then the inevitable backlash against it by those trying to look "1337" and "0ld-5k00l", and the amount of undue praise heaped upon FFVI was staggering. But enough about that, I'm drifting from topic. I personally loved FFVII, and all its minigames, ways to build characters (Cid + Venus Gospel + 999MP + mastered Cover materia + 3 mastered Counter Attack Materia = Go ahead. Physically attack me. I dare you), plus the fact that Sephiroth was one of the first villains with an actual backstory to him (No, Kefka and "LOLZ I R NUTZSO!111!" does not count)...yeah. |

| Yes, its wildly over-rated. Theres alot of things about it that were just plain shitty. Like the character depth was shallow. The only thing that gave the characters any depth at all were the dialog and the cheesy bullshit ways the story envoked emotion. OMG AERIS DIED THATS SO DEEP. OMG YUFFIE NEEDS TO STEAL MATERIA FOR HER CITY THATS SO DEEP. its pretend depth. all of it. The plot was interesting, and i liked it, but it was basically one big plot spanned over the whole game, instead of a bunch of little plots that intertwine (for example, Chrono Trigger or FF6). The graphics were great for its time, but that was only another way to simulate gameplay. People were all over FF7s nuts because it had good graphics. But Square was always good with graphics. Overall, the game felt like its primary objective was to be 'cool'. I know a ton of people who love that game to death, but never played any of the otehr games in the series (except maybe 10, wich is a prettier version of 7). I dunno. the game lacked a whole lot. It could have been tons better. |

| Overrated. I saw nothing great about the game. The characters weren't that great, the storyline was blah, the mini games sucked, there was nothing in that game that made me play it besides the whole "Its a new game" effect. Extremely over rated but than again its a Final Fantasy. Square can throw shit in a jar and label it final fantasy and it would sell millions and millions will love it. Meh. |
