I encountered a REALLY annoying bug that affect most mario fangames.

The bug goes like that:

Player break a brick block, any brick block... or get a single coin. The sound effect for breaking the brick or getting the coin loop forever and the game seemingly freeze. Once the bug has occured, each time you press a key on the keyboard, the game unfreeze for 0,00001 second.

This is really, really annoying and changing the compatibility mode does not fix it...

Well... I now know that it's not Windows XP that is causing the bug... but I still don't know how to fix it!

Are you sure your direct X settings are configured properly?

I updated DirectX and... nothing. The bug still occur. It's as annoying as ever.

That bug is weird... the game starts fine... and then, right after an action, the sound & music enter an endless loop and the game freeze.

This also seem to occur rather randomly. Sometimes, it occurs inside of the main menu or even before reaching there! Sometimes, I have the time to play the game a bit (but never past the first level) before it occurs.

Would these games happen to require something like "Cncs32.dll"? Also, is the problem slightly fixed if you constantly move the mouse really fast?!?

I think I know what you're talking about...

you can get a dll pack especially for those fan games HERE! ogmgomggmoomg

you'll go to a page, there, save the game to your comp and rename it from 'dllspack.zip_' to 'dllspack.zip'

That's not it.

http://www.clickteam.com/CTforum/showflat.php3?Cat=&Board=uus&Number=224763&page=47&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=&part=

This is the problem, an ongoing issue for games made with Klik & Play, The Games Factory, and Multimedia Fusion. As far as I know, it cannot be fixed. You just have to restart your computer when it occurs.

Yeah, pretty much.

I myself really wish there was a solution, being a developer and all...
