Just an update. The Wario Ice set is nearly completed, I just got to run it through the finishing touches and make sure everything looks correct one last time, and then I'll submit it. Included with the set will be the animation file needed and a couple of replacements for sprite tilesheets, so you can use things like the on/off switches. | |||

Question: I'm following the steps on the first page perfectly. I go to insert the EXGFX and I get some message about.. The EXGFX are stored as 3bp or something simmilar. I apparently have to extract the GFX or something. WHAT AM I DOING WRONG!? |

1. Extract the GFX and ExGFX. 2. It is supposed to say there are no ExGFX. 3. Now go to the ExGFX folder that should be in the same place as your ROM. 4. Now take your ExGFX**.bin (** is a number between 80-FFF) 5. Put the Map16Page and Map16PageG files in the same folder as your ROM. 6. Open up LM and extract the GFX and ExGFX, then reinsert both of them. 7. Click the red mushroom and enable Super GFX bypass. 8. If it is a FG (place where mario walks) change the FG3 to your ExGFX number (80-FFF). 9. Open up the add objects menu and go to the map16 pages. 10. Use the ExGFX in your level. Hope that helps |

Okay, so I have a tileset that I might upload to the workshop, if people show interest. It is a BG and I think I may be the first to: 1. Have a BG uploaded to the workshop that has NOTHING to do with mario (Thats why I have a feeling not many people will want it) 2. include a level in the zip with the BG constructed, so lazy people (like me) will not need to assemble the BG them selves. So here are the shots let me know what you think: I just need to show this and ask what you people think. It is going to be my little box that holds extra items. Now to the tileset: This is the 16x16. It is not COMPLETE, I need afew more tiles. I originally had the 'planet' round, but not all the tiles would fit, so it is a sort of an egg shape. 8x8 editor. Nothing to exciting. This is what it looks like in LM. I think it looks pretty cool. I have a rockish FG I am going to use, It looks really good with the BG. To see the Bg really good make sure your computer is at the maximum brightness, or enough to see the white lines that follow the rocks Let me know what you think, and if I should upload it to the workshop Edit: Palette still in the works (edited by Keikonium on 07-07-04 07:01 PM) |

Another problem. After succesfully inserting the ExGFX I go to the MAP 16 page and the EXGFX are all mixed up and mangled, like this... as apossed to this.. |

This is normal. If you follwed my steps above now follow these: 1. use Page Up to go to the next page. Then page up again untill u get to a page with all blue squares. 2. Now go one page above that and press F3 (I think. It should say something like load Map16 PageG and Map16 Page) 3. When you find it click yes. (just try out the F1-9 buttons but read what the screens say!) 4. Now the ExGFX should show up on the blank page. 5. Upload the palette. I hope I didn't miss anything. So everything else worked? Great! Okay now in LM go to option (I think) its a menu at the top of the screen and there is an option to enable custom palette. Always click this for custom levels, especially if it has ExGFX. Now go to File and down to Palettes. Click insert custom palette. Locate the palette that came with that ExGFX set and double click it. The palette should be inserted into your level. Now save and start building. |

It would be nice for the briefing level at the start, considering that appears to be about one quarter of a planet that looks like jupiter. Man! Did you use TLP or something to shove that beauty in? If you did a little pallette and assmbly work a tad to make it less glitchy, I'd say it would be perfect. Pretty damn good nonetheless, you have something to brag about. |

The red BG and the 1/4 egg thing are the same gfx. One is the 8x8 editor and the other is the 16x16. I kind of like it, except for the Black square at both ends of it. Also, that item holder gfx wont work, just so ya know. |

Wow thanks guys!! I have relized the item holder doesn't work. It cuts off the bottom of it when played in the game. Oh well, back to my old 2D one. I know you people will NOT BE HAPPY with the way I set up the BG and FG using the red planet tileset. (BTW it is the entrace part to the goomba (previously bowser) final castle in my 2nd hack (It is just statered and all I have done is make some ExGFX. Anyway, I made the mistake of using FG3 and BG1 to make the BG. But listen first: There is nothing on FG3, that uses the BG gfx, which means when the level is played its as if there is no FG3 but insted BG1 and BG2. Instead of the FG3 being used as the tiles amrio can interact with it is FG1 and FG2. There isn't a HUGE amount of tiles, but enough to make a level. Most people will not like this, but it was the first set I made so, if i submit it to the workshop, deal with it. I will upload a screen from zsnes in about 5 min to show how this set works out. BTW I am in the process of creating spirit replacements for this level. it is harder than gfx so it will take a bit longer. There will be a dragon fly, a goblin creature, a fire breating creature that pops out of the ground (maby, if I can get one to look good) and there was supposed to be a giant spider, but I don't think the bowser spirit would work in a normal level, and besides, the spider would fly across the screen at the top So I am going to go grab a shot, and post it. EDIT: I have some shots: This needs to have palette work on mario and the fallen angel (sort of symbolism to them being defeated by a powerful enemy lying ahead) and I need some work on the status bar. BTW this is a dark BG. Another shot with an angel. I need to work on the goblins palette. He is going to be shades of grey to fit in with the dark theme. He looks good in LM but not when played I need to fix that. And he walks with a hunched over back (sort of like Mr. Burns from the simpsons ) I also got fid of the red lines that were on that floting island thing to the right of the shot.
