Its back to haunt you in your dreams... nevermind. Yes, LTP has returned, with a few revised rules, added rules, and 52 brand new puzzles (Unless you have heard some of them ) As always, the basic flow of the game goes as follows. I post a puzzle, you ask questions to try and figure out the answer, and the one who guesses the correct answer wins the points... simple yes... now for the extra rules. As the title states, this time you(as a group) are allowed *gasp* 20 QUESTIONS PER PROBLEM. Each post may only have one question in it, and you may not ask another question until I post again. Once you hit 20 questions, I will begin taking points off of the problem. Youll see how that goes later. Now, to prevent extremely absurd guesses, Im putting a cap on that as well. You have ONE SHOT to get the answer (as a person) If you miss the answer, you may not ask any more questions or answer until the next problem. After 5 guesses at the answer, then I will toss the question out and move on with the next one. SO DO NOT ANSWER UNLESS YOU ARE SURE OF THE ANSWER!!!!! There will be one hint per puzzle allowed, but it splits the amount of points for the puzzle in half. USE WISELY. Now... Puzzles will vary in points... so... yeah. Person with the most wins, this is all review stuff for you. Here we go! -----Score----- --------------- Section 1: Testing Assumptions. Puzzle 1: The Secretary's Daughter. (10 points) 'A woman went to visit her bank manager and she took her young daughter with her. The bank manager said that the woman's daughter could stay with his secretary during the meeting. When the woman and her daughter left, the secretary turned to another secretary and said "That little girl was my daughter!" How could that be.' |

Whoops, realized this would be better phrased in a question: Was the secretary the daughter's father? (edited by Grey on 08-06-04 06:38 PM) (edited by Grey on 08-06-04 06:39 PM) |

Yeah... Had a feeling that was too easy There may need to be a slight addition to the rules now that I realized something. If you are going to guess, please clearly state it in your post to avoid any confusion... alright? Now... on with the other stuff. -----Score----- Grey-10 --------------- Question 2: Pizza (12 points) 'A man walked into a take-away pizza parlor. /he ordered one deep pan pizza with cheese, tomatoes, and double anchovies, one cris[y pizza with asparagus, cheese and tuna, one house special with extra cheese, two portions of onion rings, a diet cola with ice, a diet cola without ice, a water, and an orange soda. The woman behind the counter served him and then said "You are a plain-clothes police officer, arent you?". The man was indeed a plain clothes police officer. He had never been in the pizza parlor before and the woman did not know him and had never seen him before, so how did she know what he did?' |

This sounds like a stupid question But Better to be sure, does the answer have to do with what he ordered?

The police at the station order a very certain type of pizza at a certain time every (week/day/month/etc.), and when this man came in to pick up the usual police order, she correctly deduced that this man was a plainclothes policeman.
