Idea #1: If the forum is on it's own domain/server now, could image uploading be possible? A lot of people have problems with uploading.

Idea #2: Subscriptions. This would sort of be like Favorites, except only as specific as forum. Some forums I never go to. A user could make a list of the forums they view and then when they come to the forum, it only displays those instead of all of them.

Idea #3: Customizable Color Scheme/Layout. I have always thought this would be cool. Just curious if it was possible.

OK, maybe not a slew. Just 3. Yeah. Three.

See, the problem with having the board host images is that they might wind up having a LOT of stuff on here, and I don't know if their host is going to be real happy with that. Otherwise, sure

1: attachments are handy, and I have them enabled at my board (allthough with strict limitations), but unless the board's hosting has plenty of space left, attachments or something similiar shouldn't be enabled.

2: Just ignore the forums you don't go to, nobody forces you to go in them.

3: I had that at my AcmlmBoard long ago, and personally found it a very nice feature. However, it's not really healthy for the MySQL database. Not to forget, on my board, out of hundreds of people, only 12 or so used it.

According to Erk, we have unlimited space here, so it should be okay.

There is nothing like unlimited space.

And asside from the space limitations, attachments also need really good moderation; without a doubt people will upload crapfrom time to time using attachment features, then there's the people who use the attachment feature as their personal fileserver or for their sig hosting place. Every post will need to be kept an eye on to have this moderated properly.

When people say unlimeted they usually say alot. Thought then it's maybe that type of host who buys more space when needed.

An upload feature would work nifty, especially for pictures. But I would want restrictions on it (daily maybe). So people just don't upload 100 meg per day...

Unlimited space doesn't mean it can be abused....

if you want to upload files to my server...

http://www.fiftypounds.com/modules.php?name=Services

we have a good deal @ $5 a month....

Cause half of you will upload files and use it for hotlinking to other sites.....

so long story short....

no it isn't okay.....

and the only way Attatchments would ever be okay... is never.....

way too many places you can already upload files... if you are too cheap to spend $5 a month on good quality webhosting....

I just steal someone else's paid hosting!

Ok...I don't steal it, the owner gave it to me. It's better than running a home server on this computer.

I like the forum favourites list. Most boards have them, so why can't Acmlm's?

Here's an idea for ya: A No Smilies Allowed tag! Say anything between the [nosmilies] and [/nosmilies] tags would be ignored when replacing smilie codes.
Also, Javascript's enabled several places in the profile viewing page.
