Yup. You see, everything that is electronic uses things called nanowires to transmit the electricity so that the data can be transfered into 1s and 0s. Basically, by doing this, any imperfections or damage can be minimized. Thus, allowing the electricity to move undisturbed. BAM! higher efficiency. |

More efficiency is good. Pity that the thread title makes it sound like a talent unique to Swedish scientists. Must be something in the water. |

So, like, if I accidentally melted a bunch of a 6502 trying to get it out of my NES they could fix it? Cool.

That is absolutely amazing that someone would even think up something like that. Just think with that cell phones shall be as small as the Cell phone on Zoolander...And all was Good... |

Nanothread technology has been around for ages. The absolute disintegration is not an integral part, it is controlling the process that matters. And its not all amazing, once nanothreading was created, this science was being developed, until its successful "inaugeration" |

I don't get it... They make devices out of nanothreads and have found a way to destroy them... That means someone could easily make a weapon that wipes out the entire planet's electronic equipment, or something? |

They can look at the nanothreads and get pictures of them with an electron microscope... And about those errors. Those threads are so thin that small errors in the material like ONE single atom of wrong material or an atom at the wrong place can get big significance for the possibilities to use the nanothreads in different applications. |

E-bombs emit electromagnetic bursts throughout their explosion sequence through the creation of an assload of electrons which when emitted destroy electronic devices. These puppies were used over Kosovo and Iraq, as well as Afghanistan. Their effectiveness is proved by the fact that the only American planes shot down were shot down by the absolutely moronic Patriot anti-missle system. <.<

I don't get why we still use Patriot missiles. They're not incredibly accurate, and even if they are and the SCUD missile contains some sort of NBC, it's still going to release itself in the atmosphere. I say it's a waste of money. Get a better system. Anyway, back in 2001 I remember seeing a Popular Science that discussed a type of weapon that would reduce a small civilization back into a "Stone Age". Scary stuff. Not even your wrist watches would work. A fate worse than death. |
