| Read it before you kill it. Yea...I know there's a thread that just got closed recently about windwaker's suggestion about having the IRC forum come back but...I'm kind of curious as to why we WOULDN'T have it back. As it stood, back before the old chaos started blowing back shit in late '03...that forum was doing rather well. One major blast and it died and Emunet split to Forgetit. That's how it went...and after that, a lot of things followed, I think a lot of options started dwindling and then died...and then earlier this year we started putting a few things back, like a little less leniency...we brought LT and ACS back...so this seems to be one of the major things that I remember that we are still currently lacking. I'd like to see everyone's views on it...not just a simple 'Oh we fucked up in '03 [close]'...I'd like to see if I'm really wrong thinking we shouldn't have this back...given the fact that we have a LOT of activity on IRC...why SHOULDN'T we have a forum of it on here...since a) we have a lot of people here that go there anyways...and b) we have people on there that don't frequent here and there'd be an opportunity for added activity...an extra option for Ace's, if you will. Plus, I don't really see anyone bitching about IRC or anything of the sort nowadays...yea...I recall QUITE well all the bitching and shit we did...but do we really have to keep on dropping on it every time someone comes up with the idea that...hey...we've been around from it for about a year now...why don't we bring it back? I don't know...I really don't. That's why I'm wanting some opinions on this...I'm pretty sure there's want to bring this back, but at the same time I know that there's people that are against this, just for the sheer fact that we -might- screw our chances and have a relapse of last session, perhaps worse. But I'm only thinking in the interest of the board on this one...smite me down now, I guess. |

It's bringing IRC to the baord. it's bad.  Put plainly in idiot terms IRC has it's own forums (which, I feel tempted to add, hasn't seen a speck of activity since about september of LAST YEAR but hey. Granted I suppose it's up to Erk if he wants them since he pretty much owns Forge Tit now. If it's just an #acmlm forum, then I suppose It's up to Acmlm, seeing as it's his channel.  |

| I know they have their own forum on some other site...my point is...that given the channel and given the impact that forum and that IRC have on the activity on this board...the gap of shit that we've thrown between it and here it the past year should be bridged. That's all I'm saying. So what if it's an 'extra forum'...so was Pokemon Hacking. |

| Hell, I'm for it. The attitude and atmosphere is definitely a lot better then it was back when that whole thing went down. Yeah, a huge amount of the inside jokes on this board originate from irc convos. Yeah, I think it's a good idea.  |

| What threads? Setup guides, client discussion, quote threads, offense threads, promotions perhaps (probably not) and more, general discussions too. It won't be a super active forum but I still think it can be good to have, especially for the setup guides. |

[closed] And there you have it, a grand total of 8 threads. IRC is what it is because it's a place where we can talk in realtime and be crazier than on here. Making a forum about that is not really a great idea. What kinds of threads ARE we supposed to make? Topic: In #acmlm last night Text: Did you see what Havoks did again? Haha, he's so funny cause he acts tough there. (Sidenote: If the forum is made, and anyone makes that kind of a thread, I will go to your living quarters, and kick you in the gonads. Hard.) Other than that, there's not much else. Besides, a few threads in Hardware/Software about IRC information is good enough. |

| Maybe, but then I'm just trying to add an option, and one that quite a few people seem to want. Other than a claim of inactivity, I haven't heard much of a reason -not- to do this. If you don't want to, that's fine, it's not like I'm an admin that has access to PMA and will just put it in there, bam! I was actually just wondering how many people are opposed to it versus how many people aren't...from what I've gathered thus far...I'm gonna assume it's relatively equal or moreso driven towards bringing it back. |

| I'm with YD on this one; I see absolutely no point in getting it back, since whatever info you need IRCwise will be too little for its own forum to grant a subforum for it. But on the other hand, I'm not staff. I'm not to decide in the matter, it's just one of the lesser good ideas to me. |
