It was raining very hard as Colonel Wellington walked down the old, beaten path. His destination was an interesting one, and he managed a grin. Very little light filtered in through the thick foliage, and the going was slow.

After a few minutes, the forest around him began to get less and less dense, until he came to a clearing. Suddenly, there was open space for miles, and the only thing unnatural in his view was an abandoned farmhouse.

The Colonel went over to an old apple tree, and climbed it. He spotted a paticularly tasty apple, and began to eat it.

Col. Wellington: I hope my message was recieved.

(OOC: just normal rules I guess)

OOC: This seems a lot like the same place where I fougth GB Boy, so I figured I'd make it the same. PM me if you have any questions as to what follows.

The apple tree has a resident; A young man in a red baseball cap, wearing a duffelbag on his back. He takes a seat on a branch near the Colonel, holding an apple himself.

Janus: "Hey there, Colonel. If you're looking for Tawq, he left this place long ago, in search of his own destiny. He left after I showed him that not all humans wished the destruction of his race, and now I believe he fights for the same thing I do. It's the people like us that are going to show the world why destruction isn't the answer."

Janus takes a bite into his apple and leans against the tree, relaxed but not entirely unaware.

"It's good to see you again, old man. I've heard you've taken a break from your warmongering. It's nice to know that you've chosen the path of peace finally. You seek out the wonders of the world, don't you?"

Janus drops down from the branch onto the ground, taking his bag with him.

"Well, I've gotten pretty wonderous since the old days. Look at me, I haven't aged a bit since last you saw me, have I? Ever wonder how I did it, how I managed to stay so young while you got old? I've fought in many more wars than just that one, and I've seen so many people die. I've traveled throughout history, but it all feels to be nothing more than a day's work to me. It's a side effect, I've had it since far before you met me. There's a lot more to me than just the young boy you saw in the RAF. I can't tell you everything, but I can tell you a few things..."

"After the first Great War (and believe me, whether you like it or not there's gonna be another one), I left this time, going into the past and future. I went forward, back to my own time, for awhile. Trained a bit, got chased around a bit, but now I'm back here just for you. Feel lucky; technically in this time your message will never reach me, it's a good thing the British Postal System is so precise. I've traded in my gun for the bag, as you can see. It's quite a little device. Very useful, my old luggage bags never could make it through the time jumps."

"Now then, you were the one who called me here, I went back in time a good seventy years just to see you. What do you need?"

The Colonel threw back his head and laughed.

Colonel Wellington: "Janus, you never change. Always that same boundless energy. So you're a time traveler now? Your bag of tricks just seems to grow every time we meet."

"And you say they're will be another one? Another war? I'm not too sure this old body will able to do combat like I used to."

"What do you say old chap? A good spar for old times sake? See if I can still be effective in this coming war?"

"Always have been, always will be. If you can't die, the only other thing to do is live, after all. And sir, if you can keep up with me now, you'll kick the crap out of any German you meet."

Janus puts his bag on the ground. From within it, he draws a steel staff, extending with the push of a button. He assumes a guard stance, ready to show his old friend what he's got.

"Let us see if you've learned anything new..."

"Let's hope for my sake I can still keep up with you."

Colonel Wellington hopped out of the tree, and turned to face Janus.

He drew the Sabre of Light from its holster. It glistened in the rain, giving off an intense glow.

After almost a full minute of them facing one another, the Colonel took off like a rocket at Janus with his blade raised.

Janus: "What? That's DEFINITELY something new!"

Janus vaults backward, avoiding the Colonel's slash and hooking the straps to his bag in the process. He lobs the bag at the Colonel as a diversion, then races forward and whirls his staff in a quick spinning blow at Colonel's sword hand (right or left, dunno which one he uses).

"Where'd you get an artifact like that?"

"You like it? I picked it up in France while exploring. I did a little research on it, and it's the Sabre of Light. Fascinating stuff really."

Clutching the Sabre in his right hand, the Colonel sidestepped with Janus in a circle. With a quick snap of the wrist, he shot another stab at Janus' midsection

Janus ducks the stab, using his forward momentum from the previous strike to go into a quick roll.

Janus: "The Sabre of Light! What a treat! It's certainly a well-made sword, if you can wield it so lightly. But an artifact so old as that one must have some interesting abilities..."

Vaulting upwards with the staff, Janus counterattacks by whipping the staff outwards, extending it to its full length to try and catch the Colonel with its tip.

Janus' arms didn't reach long enough, and the staff merely tapped him.

Colonel Wellington: "Get it, weild it lightly? Sabre of Light? Hah! In all seriousness, yes indeed it has some interesting abilites. Maybe you'll get to see a few?"

Hoping to catch him off gaurd, the Colonel lunged forward again, and slashed out at Janus.

The staff, and Janus, swung full circle. Janus brought the staff into a vertical parry, but the Colonel is stronger than him. The blade slides off the sword, nicking Janus in the side in the process.

Janus: "Just a scratch..."

Janus responds by swinging in another circle opposite the previous one, in an attempt to hit the Colonel in the side as he follows through with his slash.

OOC: Sorry, wasn't in all of today.

The staff swung round and collided with the Colonel's side, sending him sprawling backwards.

Wheezing, he got back up and caught his breath.

"Used to be able to dodge that."

Realizing he couldn't keep up with the quickness of Janus, he took a defensive stance, and waited for an attack.

Janus: "It's alright, ossan, everyone ages... You OK?"

Janus puts his staff away, and assumes a martial arts stance. He waits for Wellington to recover.

"I'll switch fighting styles now. Come on, let's see if you still have some of your old power. Remember, I may be fast, but I don't even come close to you in strength..."

Janus stands straight. His right arm is extended in front of him, with his hand making a "come on" gesture.

"Sword and fist, after all. Come on!"

Annoyed, the Colonel regained his breath, and picked up his Sabre.

The Colonel lunged at Janus, slicing in a large uppercut, eliminating jumping to the tree as an option.

Moving along with the Colonel, Janus attempts to escape the slash by frontflipping over the Colonel's head. The fabric of his pants is shorn clean as he is caught in the leg by the ferocious upward strike. As Janus lands, a cut in his leg can be seen, bleeding freely.

Janus: "Yikes! Nice move. Damn, that really hurt..."

Janus gets to his feet and tests his leg. A few kicks in the air later, he deems it alright to continue fighting.

"Come on, Colonel. You're still going easy on me. I don't care how old you think you've gotten, you're still an excellent warrior."

In a maneuver reminiscient of Champloo style martial arts, Janus leaps toward the Colonel, landing just short of his feet and lashing out with a quick sweeping kick, hoping to follow it up with a spinning roundhouse kick, should the Colonel fall to the ground...

The Colonel, not quite crippled with arthritis yet, and backflipped over the kick, but wasn't spared from the roundhouse, which caught him on the side.

Col. Wellington: That one will smart in the morning. Let's see if you can dodge this one.

The Colonel aimed his Sabre at Janus, and cried out

"Truth and Reconciliation!"

With a flash of light, a glowing beam of light was shot out of the Sabre, sending its white hot energy hurtling at Janus

Janus: "What the he---"

BAM! Janus is hit full force by the blast, and knocked back a good thirty feet in the process. The rain pounds the earth around him as he coughs up a mixture of mud, saliva and just a bit of blood, desperately searching for the words to describe what appeared to be a rather ferocious attack on him.

Janus: "An... energy attack... I knew there was more to that sword than first glace would deem..."

Janus slowly gets to his feet and stands, wobbling slightly and still a bit dazed by the Colonel's attack.

"That's some messed up magic, right there. Definitely a good reason to keep that thing undiscovered..."

Smiling, Janus calls his bag to him, and flips a switch inside it, transforming it into the hammerlike weapon he knows so well. His eyes flicker a quick blue color.

"Finally, things are starting to really heat up!"
