Something's wrong, you see, certain keypresses make the active window minimize, or bring up the search or Run Dialogs, so i have to hold shift to type stuff. Does anyone know what the problem might be?

There, I fixed your post.

Doesn't sound like a virus to me, sounds like your keyboard is fucked up. Is it wireless?
Do you have a bunch of crud stuck between the keys?

Sometimes the Windows key screw up, it happened alot with me in Windows 98 for some reason. I'm not sure if it was the Keyboard or some bug, but it hadn't happened in long time for some reason. (then I hadn't used Windows 98 alot either...)

But it is the Windows key related, that's for sure. Holding in the Windows key while pressing a button usually does stuff. (like opening up things like you described )

Stupid question but... Have you by any chanche restarted the computer? Shut it off and on? Any Keyboard errors when you turn on the computer?

...I love you. =)

I was thinking it might have been caused by the recent spyware problem, but apparently not.

Press M. If all the windows minimize, it's because your Windoze key is stuck.

Might actually have been a virus...I remember an old IRL ex-friend of mine got something around the lines of a keyboard panic virus that would cause his keyboard to write nothing but 'I AM FUCKING GAY' on loadup. The method around that was a text file that had links to virus protection sites on it. CTRL+C, CTRL+V.
