| Janus: "He's a little bit suspicious, sure..." Janus circles the large robot and pokes it a few times with an outstretched finger. Metal. Cool. Janus was cool with that. Metal he could do. "Heh, if the Gu-Goombas get a look at him, they're sure to come a-knockin." He looked at his watch. It was about a quarter past too late for him to even be here anymore... "I'm supposed to be on vacation, you know. How do you think I feel? This isn't exactly relaxing." Suddenly, an idea went flying into his head with all the force and ferocity of a hummingbird. Ironically, it was probably the same idea (or at least close to it, anyway) that everyone else had... "You know what we could do, is just follow them anyway. I mean, you're on summer vacation, right? And I'm on a real vacation. I probably won't serve any real purpose to you people, but I feel like traveling as it is. Never seen this world before, and from the looks of your lady friend, there's going to be a lot of traveling being done." He glanced sidelong at the house where the rest of the crew resided, preparing for Haruko's journey... "Of course, they won't be allowed to know about it. Not unless we're forced by random circumstance to accompany them the entire way and thus intertwine our destinies with theirs in some inexplicable magical way that surrounds us and binds us and gives us the strength of conviction to overcome any challenge that stands before us." Janus then slumped his shoulders and came to another realization... "That doesn't make much sense, though... considering I only just met most of you about two hours ago..." |

Kirbynite: You didn't seem annoying.. unlike some mercenaries that tagged along.... Though... If we were to follo-- Haruko: Wait! Haruko, thinking that everyone was going to leave, stepped out of the house. She quickly stepped out onto the front porch, and somehow trips over her own feet. Kirbynite: ... Jack: ! Haruko started to blush at her own clumsiness. Jack rushed over to Haruko and helped her up to her feet. Haruko: I'm sorry about that conversation.. Kirbynite weakly waved his left hand in the air. Kirbynite: Ah, it's not like it's your fault. Just a bunch of adults ruining our fun. Haruko: Oh yeah.. I'm sorry. Jack: Haruko, you don't-- Kirbynite: *sweatdrop* Nevermind that. The Dreamlander didn't want to hear another endles loop. Kirbynite: Oh yeah! Happy birthday, Haruko! Jack: ! Kirbynite: I just wanted to say that incase I forgot to come back with your birthday present. I kinda left back home. Say, Jack, didn't-- Jack: You left my present too? I knew I should've gone back to your place to pick it up. Kirbynite: Er... heh..  ;;Jack: I guess I'll have to swing by your place then. Haruko: Oh! As soon as I find out about when we're leaving, I'll try and stop by, ok? Jack: But what if I'm still at Kirb's? Isn't the path there a bit dangerous? Haruko: *giggles* I'm the Chosen, remember? I'll be fine. See you guys later.Kirbynite: Ciao. Jack: Bye. *_* As Haruko returns to her house, Kirbynite let out a sigh. Kirbynite: Well, I don't mind having company to my house. Jack: What about these guys? Kirbynite: Oh yeah.. we need to come up with a plan to trail these guys.. Hm.. I'm sure Big Sis won't mind another kid in the area staying for just a little while... *sweatdrop* Even though the kid might not be so young. *looks at Gutsman* You know.. Kirbynite: Huh? One of the village guards walk towards Kirbynite. Guard: Could you do about your overgrown lizard? Kirbynite: Lizard? Oh! Green! Green: Yoshi! A smoothly scaled, bipedal creature steps towards Kirbynite and the others. It has a big, goofy head with large goofy eyes, scrawny arms, a stubby tail and stocky legs. Kirbynite runs over to the creature, who lowers its head to allow the Dreamlander to hug it. Kirbynite: He's not some overgrown lizard! He's a dragon! Guard: ... Yeah.. Um... But you do know he's not supposed to come in here, right? Kirbynite: I know. Why'd you come here, Green? I thought I told you to stay put. Green: Yoshi! Kirbynite: ... *look at Jack* Quiet you. | Janus: "KAWAII!!!" ^_____________________^ Immediately, IMMEDIATELY upon seeing the Yoshi, Janus's fanboy side gets to him, and he jumps at the overbearingly-cute dinosaur, throwing his arms around its neck and jumping onto its back, hugging it the entire time. He then taps it on the back of the head, prodding it several times... "Come on, stick out your tongue! Stick out your tongue!!!!" Green almost immediately bucks him off and sticks out its tongue, swallowing Janus and turning him into a giant egg instantly. It then jumps and flutter jumps into the air and with a quick yelp somersaults and rockets toward the ground, butt-downward. The dinosaur collides with the giant egg with crushing force, breaking it open and delivering a literal assload of pain to Janus' already injured body. It gets off of him, leaving him in a crumpled heap on the ground. Janus: "Ow...." |

| Janus: "I'd be a little more obliged to help you, but really..." The fellow picked himself up off the ground, his back seemingly broken in two places. Several seconds later, he was back on the Yoshi's tail, hugging it furiously... "Ah, who am I kidding, I can't help but love this thing! It's just so cute!" His grip tighter than before, the Yoshi tried flipping his tail around, but eventually gave up after realizing that Janus was pretty much not going to let go. "I'll come with you guys if the dino comes!" |

| Kirbynite: Dragon. Kirbynite corrected him. Well, as much as he believe that was the correct creature type. Kirbynite: Well, I hope you're ready for a trek... It's gonna take us quite a bit to get home... Kirbynite frowned as he left the village's entrance. After a while of walking, the group reached a thick forest. The Dreamlander didn't notice if Zap or Teddylot was still with them. He was too busy fighting monsters with his broken sticks and stones. Halfway through the trek to Kirbynite's home, Kirby's eye looked off to the side. It was the Gu Goomba's Human Ranch. Kirbynite: Ugh... How could the village make a treaty with such a place... | Teddylot: You know ... we should have our own theme song. And with that, Zap and Teddylot's silence were finally broken. Zap continued the deviation by sparking up some conversation. Zap: Well, Kirb, it may actually be "for your benefit," since the treaty may entail a pact keeping the Gu-Goombas in the large part out of the town. Of course it's not right and the ranch should be nullified, but that can't happen if the town keeps compromising with them. Sometimes ... force is a necessity, you know. |

| Janus looked up from his yoshi-hugging to respond to that statement that was just made by Zap. Janus: "Force isn't always a necessity, you know. I don't see any real reason why those Gu-Goomba people you were all talking about can't be taken by the hand by the government. I mean, usually it's standard procedure to elicit sanctions and embargos and economic constraints on a hostile nation, and those people certainly seem to be pretty hostile. Why not just have the government stand up to them?" |

| Kirbynite: Hey! Guys! I didn't realize you were really nearby. The Dreamlander then looked down and gave a frown. Kirbynite: ... "Government"? "Embargos"? Wha.. what're you talking about? We're just a small village. The nearest village around here would be.. uh... someplace in the desert, I think. And I'm pretty sure I heard from Big Sis that it's about the same size as this one. Kirbynite was a bit confused about Janus. But his confusion was distracted by what Jack was about to say. Jack: Hey.. uh..You all go on ahead.. I need to take care of something. Kirbynite: *quirks a brow* Take care of something? Oh! You man that dog? Jack: D-Dog? Kirbynite: Yeah. I noticed you've been storing extra food from lunch. I just figured Professor Fem wouldn't let you keep it. Jack: No! Marble isn't a dog! Kirbynite: Wait... Kirbynite looks in the direction of the ranch. Tall, wire fences were situated around the entire area, with a large, metallic door in the center. There were plenty of shrubs and trees growing around the area, with boulders laying here and there. Kirbynite: She's one of the prisoners.. right? Um... Isn't that kinda going against the non-agression treaty? Jack: Hey! They attacked us back at the Minh Temple! Kirbynite: Oh yeah... Jack: Yeah.. | Janus: "Embargos, economic sanctions, treaties that suggest a nonviolent reaction... With a lack of human ranches, of course." His current bout of fanboy-induced craziness over, Janus returns to his normal, informative state. The Yoshi breathes a sigh of relief as Janus releases his grip around its neck and drops to the ground, taking his place at Kirby's side. "A violation of a non-aggression treaty can only mean that the opposing government is clearly planning some kind of overthrow. While politics is hardly my strong suit, I'd have to say that these Gu-Goomba people are planning something harsh. I would think a retaliation such as Jack's would be completely within the bounds of fairness, considering the bloodthirsty attack on the temple the Gu-Goombas made." He nodded his head in self-assurance, and suddenly realized something important... "Say, why exactly aren't you guys going anywhere anyway?" |

| Kirbynite: .... I don't understand what you just said, but I think I agree with what you said at the end. Kirbynite gives a firm nod. He then looked at the others. Kirbynite: They're just stuck in some weird trance. As long as they're standing away from the ranch, it should be alright.... Wait, where's Jack? Jack had already made his way to a secluded area outside of the human ranch. An elderly woman with a very thick nose was seen standing on the other side of the thickly wired fences. Kirbynite quickly ran over to Jack's side. Jack: Marble! Hi! Marble: Jack! *looks at Kirbynite* Is that a friend? Kirbynite: Yeah, I'm Kirbynite. There are some others but I don't know if they were up for running here.. Marble: Pleased to meet you. Kirbynite: Yeah. Jack: Did you see it, Marble? The oracle! Marble: Yes I did. I saw the Tower of Salvation. Now, the Chosen's journey of regeneration can finally begin. I hope it is successful this time.... Kirbynite: Oh yeah.. the last one failed, right? Marble: Yes.. I heard the Chosen was killed by Gu Goombas during the journey. Jack: H-Haruko.. Kirbynite pokes Jack's side, an attempt to do an elbowing, since he was short to begin with. Kirbynite: Of course she'll be alright. We're gonna be tagging along! Marble: I shall then pray for you as well as the Chosen for a safe journey. Kirbynite: Hm? Hey, Marble.. Isn't that an Exsphere? A circular object glimmers on Marble's right hand. Marble: Oh.. is that was this is called? They placed it on me shortly after I came here. Kirbynite: Definitely gotta be an exsphere. An Exsphere without a Key Crest is dangerous. *nod nod* |

I was never able to get my hands on one... Doubt I'd be able to handle having one of those stuck in my hand, either." He then stares at the hand once again, noting the lack of key crest. That couldn't be a good thing. "But hey.... You said it's bad if there's no crest? So, what happens when there's no crest to keep it in there? Does the sphere go wild on your body or something?" |

| ((Sorry for this massive post, but I just gotta get this out)) Kirbynite: Putting an Exsphere directly onto your skin supposedly makes you sick.. But.. It's useless unless you attach it directly to the skin. So.. in order to prevent it from making you sick, you either carve a charm thing into a special ore, or get a device that can mimic magic and use either one of those as a mount for the Exsphere. And that's a Key Crest. Jack, resisting the urge to be surprised about Kirbynite's sign of intelligence, took note of Marble's hand. Jack: Marble's doens't have a mount... Kirbynite: Yeah... if all we needed was that charm, I could do it myself since Big Sis taught me.. but.. We need the special ore... Jack: There's gotta be something you can do! Kirbynite: It's not that easy... I mean.. The charm stuff is dwarven technology. Jack: But Lucca's an inventor! You said you can use a device that mimics magic can be used too. Please ask her for help! Kirbynite: Fine fine.. I'll ask. Jack: All right! Jack: Please... don't trouble yourself. "Hey! Old hag! What the hell are you doin' over there?" Marble: Oh no... the Gu Goombas! Run away! All of you! Kirbynite: But but... Jack: What if.. they find us? Kirbynite: .. The Gu Goombas might do something to Marble and the people of the village... Marble: That's right! Go! Jack: I'm sorry, Marble.... Kirbynite and Jack immediately turned around and leapt into some nearby bushes. Kirbynite leapt back out to grab Janus and dragged him into the bushes. Three soldiers appeared behind Marble. They wore helmets that covered their eyes, and wore rather comfortable uniforms. It was a combination of fine leather and metallic plating. Gu Goomba 1: Who said you could slack off? Marble: I'm sorry... Gu Goomba 2: What's with that look, huh? Gu Goomba 3: Looks like someone's got an attitude problem. *wraps fingers tightly around his whip* Gu Goomba 1: Sounds like a lesson learning is an order... | Kirbynite: .... Jack: This isn't right! They're gonna do something horrible to Marble! Kirbynite: *lets go of Janus* We can't just rush in there... But... *gasps* Yes! That's it! Jack: You're not thinking... Kirbynite: Yes. Jack: I thought of it too, but if they spotted... Kirbynite: That's where we're thinking differently. The Dreamlander leaps into the air, and grabs a tree branch. He falls back down to the ground, and immediately grabs onto a root that's sticking out from the ground. Kirbynite: Shoot some kinda fireball, and beeline back to the village. All of you. And then I'll just start jumping around. And then I'll just rush down the side of the cliff. Jack: But they'll see you! Kirbynite: Don't worry about it! Thanks to this Exsphere that I have, I'll be too fast for them to get a good id on me. Jack: Kirb, that still doesn't-- Kirbynite: Too late! Kirbynite was launched into the air as soon as he released the root. Jack: You dummy! Ugh.. Fireball! Jack, quickly manipulating the mana in the surrounding area, formed three flaming orbs. The fireballs flew through the fence and curved around the corner to where the Gu Goombas took Marble. Gu Goomba 1: What the.. All three of the soldiers were struck by the fireballs. They all flinched for a bit, and immediately looked for the source. They then spot a round creature leaping ontop of the gate. The creature was not only leaping, it was dancing. It then jumped off the gate. Gu Goomba 2: After it! Kirbynite: And that's when I run. |

| Janus: "You'd BETTER be sure about this..." Janus, before rushing off foolhardedly to battle, rears back, clutches his hammer in his hand, and lobs it at the Gu-Goombas, knocking one to the ground and dashing off, sending the hammer flying through the sky and back to him, completely unnoticed by the Gu-Goombas. Kirbynite quickly scrambles towards the cliff, literally running on all fours. Jack: Huh? Kirbynite: Huh? Kirbynite suddenly realized he was running the wrong way. He was cutting across Jack and Janus's escape path. Jack: What are you doing? Kirbynite: ... er... Darnit! Here! Kirbynite removed his cap and backpack and tossed it at Jack. Kirbynite: Go back to the village! Jack was taken aback by Kirbynite's assertiveness. Kirbynite: I just need you to trust me right now! Go! | Appeared before the Gu Goombas and what? Janus would have stopped to ponder, but Jack plowed into him and kept going... No time to waste. Janus: "Just gotta trust him... But he's a fool if he thinks he can beat them all on his own, with what little skill he has." And of course, the only thing running through Janus' mind as he ran back to town was if Kirbynite was actually GOING to take them on... Of course, this entire stream of thought was completely blown when he tripped on his shoelaces and fell flat on his face. Janus: "Ow! CRAP!" "...AP!!" "....AP!" "........AP!"
