A zombie jumped at Star first and Star quickly cut it in half. Without any time to react a skeleton jumped onto Star holding him down, as another monster attacked him from the side. Star flipped over the and landed on his back. With a quick movemnt his sword was in the other skeleton. The skeleton was electricuted as Star powered himself up with lightning. Star got up and realised that he had a sharp bone stuck into his back.

"I was a little to careless about this..."

Star patched up his wound with some medicine he had hidden away, but it was only slowing it down. Again Star encountered another monster, but this one was a slime ball. Star jumped into the shadow waiting for the monster to pass.

The figure stopped, then spun around to face Kirbynite.

Figure: My reasons are my own.

And with that, he grabbed a zombie's fist heading for his back, and quite literally pulled the zombie over his head, smashing him into the ground.

Trodding over the fallen zombie's body and giving it a kick in the side as he did, Janus continues his conversation with Kirbynite.

Janus: "Those human farms sound a bit gruesome. You guys just let this go on outside your town? Seems a bit daft, in my opinion..."

There is a pause, and he continues trying to wring a conversation out of the dark and dreary path.

"So we've moved from being a bunch of random people to an official Ragtag Group now? Brilliant, that means things are really starting to pick up. Now then, we've deduced that we're heading in the right direction, the only question that needs answering is what we're heading for. Any clues? Anyone? Anyone at all..."

As soon as the glob of slime went past Star, Star jumped out and cut it into many peices. Slowly walking towards the right passage Star took his time as he knew the group couldn't have gotten too far ahead of him.

"I feel a little better now. Killing just seems to be fun sometimes..."

OOC If you didn't notice this Star's personality and the one I sim battle with differ a whole lot... oh well.

Kirbynite: ... The town has a peace treaty with the Gu-Goombas... But they broke it when they tried to hurt the Chosen! *nods* ... And what do you mean by that? Letting it go on outside of town? There're several human ranches all over the world....

The Dreamlander fell silent. He was trying to process the information, and the logic. He has heard of plenty of heros, but why haven't the Gu-Goombas fallen victim to the heros, before and now?

Kirbynite: .. I wish I knew what we were looking for...

Marina: Judging from the Mr. Gun's affiliation with self indulgence, and the echoes from Star behind us, I'd say that we're here to keep the monster population down.

Kirbynite: What?! That's what the chosen was meant to do? *looks at Haruko* That can't be, right? ... Look! There's a bunch of stairs that lead down. Maybe we'll find something interestin' in there.

Teddylot: Or dangerous.

Teddylot took a few steps down the stairs, but didn't go far enough to step into the shadows. He had changed his magical staff into a fishing pole, impaled a nice juicy steak onto the hook, and flung it down the stairs beyond the view of his companions. A few moments later, there was a tug on the line, and Teddylot took hold of the rod and started reeling it in. However, there wasn't much to reel in as the meat had been torn from its hook.

Teddylot: Great Scott! This 'un's a biggun'! Quick lads! *twirls around his staff* Man the harpoons!

Kirbynite gulps as he tries to help Teddylot. After a bit of tugging, Kirbynite decided to investigate. He clenched his wooden weapons and leapt down the stairs.

After a bit of crashing and yelling, the pink Dreamlander comes back up the stairs. He tosses a slab of meat onto the ground infront of Teddylot.

Kirbynite: The hook had caught onto the railing. I don't see any monsters down here.. it's just some kinda clear platform with holes. C'mon.

Star had got to the end of the passage after everyone had moved down the stairs. He started taking more time by looking at the walls and noticing some of the walls were in bad shape. Not really knowing what could do this as all the monsters so far had been weak he worried a little for the group.

"I don't think I need to watch after a group this big with those two new people there. I guess I will just watch for now."

Star walked down the stairs following the group at a distance.

The cloaked figure was already downstairs, walking through the room, and being rather careful not to fall down any holes.

Janus, meanwhile, walks down the staircase, and peers into one of the holes...

Janus: "I wonder... How deep does this go?"

Picking up a conveniently located piece of rubble, Janus throws it down into the hole, and waits for it to hit the bottom. It's fairly odd, though. He looks at the space beneath the bottom of the clear platform and sees something rather interesting...

After several fights with some golems, as well as puzzle solving, the group make their way at a dead end. However, this dead end had a pedestal, with a ring floating above it.

Kirbynite: Whoa! I can't believe that there's some nice looking treasure here!

Marina: Hmph. Don't break it now. It's a Sorceror's Ring. It may be important to us.

Kirbynite: What does it do? It's got a cool name!

Teddylot: *pops out from behind Kirbynite* I bet it gives the holder secret sorcery powers. Quick, go touch it!!! *nudges Kirb forward a bit*

Zap: Don't rush things! It may be a trap!

Teddylot: So what? It's there for a reason. It either gives the party a spiffed up item or it moves the story along. Don't you play video games?!

Janus: "Sorcerer's Ring? Interesting item. And considering we found it here, the other path that Star took was a dead end, and there's a third path back on the first floor blocked by some crazy kind of light, I'd say that these are all somehow connected."

Nonchalantly placing a small device inside his bag, Janus suddenly gets a bit nervous...

"Uh, I mean........." *sweatdrops* ".......There's no other path to go to so why not go back to the start with this weird item? Yeah....."

Star had caught up to the group by now and looked at the sorcerer's ring without much interest on his face. Knowing that the ring would inevitably be useful sometime there was no need to argue. Quietly Star spoke to himself, "We have a mage that can cast various elemtal spells, or will be able to later. Why would we need a ring that lets us do the exact same thing?"

Kirbynite: Elemental spells? Cool! I wanna be able to do spells!

Kirbynite quickly snatched the ring and waved it around the air. He eventually bit it, but it did nothing. A wave of disappointment rushed over the Dreamlander, until he held the ring out like how a ring should be held.

Kirbynite: Whoa! It shot out a fireball! Uh... Sorry, Mr. Gun...

Janus: "Well, at least we have a fireball, I guess that'll do well enough for now. Right, dead end? Anyone? Anyone at all? No? Fine then..."

Janus starts back toward the entrance to the chapel...

((Yay! Someone finally posted ))

Kirbynite: Hi-ya! Fear my newfound power of fire!

Marina: *sighs*

Kirbynite shoots out fireballs recklessly around the hallways. Eventually, he enters an area with monsters. He holds up the ring and aims at a nearby slime.

Kirbynite: Bow down to my power of fire! *shoots*

Slime: *freezes*

Kirbynite: .... What kind of fireball freezes enemies?

Flinging his hammer at the frozen slime, Janus recalls it to him as the green blob explodes into a million pieces of imitation snot. He sighs and adds a tinge of sarcasm to his words.

Janus: "Obviously the mystic powers of the fabled Sorcerer's Ring are not to be underestimated..."

The main hall of the chapel just ahead of him, Janus continues onward, hoping to whatever gods cover this world that there were people actually following him.

"Come on, the entrance is just ahead, we might as well check that huge blocked passageway again."

Star walked forward, seriously doubting that they would get anywhere anytime soon. He thought that everyone decided to move really slow all of a sudden, but he kept going.

"Careful where you aim that. If it can stun a monster it could easily do the same to a human."

Kirbynite: Holy Cucco! Um... Yeah.. I might have to.. becareful...

Marina: I think he finally got it.

After a bit of walking and destroying of monsters, the group find their way back at the central area, with the branching paths. Kirbynite steps towards the center path, and holds up the ring.

Kirbynite: Well.. is everyone ready?
