Hehe.. the 2-player issue you brought up is so typically nintendo, you can beat most other games alone on all others consoles and the PC. I'd love to see more co-op games for the pc though :/, it's rather fun to fight together with someone.

Well if your looking for simplicity and funtime, then get Mario vs Donkey Kong. It'll last for a good week. It seems games these days are way shorter. The developers seem to care about only the money, not the quality and the happiness of the consumer. However, the DS looks extremely promising, so we'll have to be patient.

Edit: erm, funtime?

I need to add my comments to your discussion. I apologize if I seem a little crabby, I'm kinda tired right now. Please take no offense to whatever may be in here that could offend. Anyway, let's proceed.

>> WHY IS THERE A GAME BOY PLAYER AD WHEN I START THE GAME?

Are you playing the rom, or is it on the actual game too?

>> VIDEO GAME DEVELOPERS, READ THIS CAREFULLY.

I'm sorry, but I just don't like that statement at all. I'm a (non profit, non commercial) developer. Well, kinda. I DO make my own games in my spare time, but that's not the point. It may just be a pet peeve of mine, but I don't like it when one single person (inexperienced with game dev) tries to tell me how to make the game. Well anyway:

>> We do NOT need to be alerted constantly when we have low health! Even for those who never watch the scorebar (which is really a stupid way to play, but sometimes can't be helped), a few loud beeps when your health drops below a certain level will suffice. Maybe even flash the health bar. It's not necessary for the game to emit a constant loud siren! It's the most annoying thing ever! I always have to turn the sound off when that happens, and then I don't get to hear the cool music.

Who's 'we'? Did you take a survey? I do agree a LOUD LOUD ZELDA SIREN is no good, but what about the quiet one in Metroid 2? If I made a continuous warning beep, I would make it beep loud like twice or three times, then either stop, or quiet down and slow down to a rate of a quiet beep every three seconds. Another reason they may make it obnoxious like that is so you try to AVOID IT.

>> The real problem is the 4 Swords game. The manual says 2-4 players. That means you can have 2 or 3 players, with the AI controlling the remaining Links, right? So why not 1-player with 3 AI players? It's getting to where you can't beat (or sometimes even play) games these days until you buy another game, another console (or another of the same one) and an incredibly overpriced cable to connect them.

!!!! Have you played the game?!?! If you play four swords with less than four players, there will be an alternate level that is loaded which has conditions readjusted to the number of players available. There are no AI Link characters whatsoever, thus no 1 player mode. You've missed the point of the game entirely. It's to play it with your friends, because it's very fun to work together with friends in that game.

Drag: A few GBA games made around the time the Game Boy Player came out had that little screen on it. I'm guessing they wanted to say the game was compatible with it but...

But then, why not just have it on the box. Like they did with Super gameboy.

Funny that they did do that even with Pok

Well if it can be compatible, why not make it that way? And why make an SGB game without an SGB border?

Genuine, bona-fide cartridge. (That'd be a strange intro to add. )

I can understand that, but...
-I was talking more about professional developers.
-It's a rant.
-I am quite experienced in game development, I just haven't really finished anything worth releasing.

Me, and I would think a lot of people would agree.

I do agree a LOUD LOUD ZELDA SIREN is no good, but what about the quiet one in Metroid 2?

Not as bad, still kinda annoying when there's barely any music though.

If I made a continuous warning beep, I would make it beep loud like twice or three times, then either stop,

Perfect. Exactly how I'd do it.

or quiet down and slow down to a rate of a quiet beep every three seconds.

Not as bad, but I have sensitive ears and am easily annoyed by this kind of thing.

What, losing isn't reason enough?

Thanks for explaining. That's a rather unusual way of doing it, though.

You've missed the point of the game entirely. It's to play it with your friends, because it's very fun to work together with friends in that game.

That's great for people who know others with a GBA and didn't forget (well, couldn't find) their link cable 500 miles away. Personally, I'd like to try it out on my own.
