Yep... Its official. The name for Paper Mario 2 in the US is Paper Mario: the Thousand Year Door.

http://cube.ign.com/articles/533/533580p1.html

Theres a short article in the link above, and a movie.

I personally would have stuck with Paper Mario 2, but you know Nintendo, has to have its big fancy long titles.

I'll once again bet Luigi won't be playable...

Anyway, it does look fun, I think I'll get it when it comes out.

I'll probably call it Paper Mario: TTYD or something like that.

Im really liking the sounds of this game... they actually took the paper aspect of it and enhanced it.

Mario the paper airplane... mario the paper tube... I sure hope there are a LOT of these little paper abilities...

This game is coming out in October for the US (Japanese have it already )

I also heard that Mario can turn sideways and slip through tiny cracks.

I'm definately getting this one.

Interesting title, that's for sure. I certainly hope they improved on the badge system from the first one, which I enjoyed quite a lot. And there'd better be a character like Goombario in this one (I'm guessing the pink chick with the helmet will serve the same purpose) because he certainly had the most personality out of everyone in the first one.

He had some dialogue for about EVERYTHING- every area you go to, every enemy to fight, and every person you can talk to. It was insane.

I'm going through the game my 8th time and I'm STILL learning background storyline I never even THOUGHT about- like who writes the Toad Town News.

I hope the second one expands upon this, too.

Its nice how retains a great deal of similarity to the original, while implementing the gamecube's power. Can't wait to purchase it.

Those two videos were the coolest thing I've seen all day.

October, huh? How convenient, it's right after my birthday... And I'm surprised that they kept it so smooth, Paper Mario used sprites, as I recall, but somehow they managed to use textures, I'm not too sure myself what it is...

Yeah, he was so neglected in the original . Quite sad actually, more so than in most Mario games. And I remember you could read his secret diary in the floor of Mario's house. Luigi is psychologically affected by how Mario has left him in the dust on all the adventures.

Luigi was actually LESS neglected, I'd say. The original Mario RPG barely had him at ALL- only a brief cameo in the credits.

Mario Sunshine?

Mario 64?

Where is he, there, huh?

He seems to at least make some appearences in Paper Mario 2.

Yep, I'm countin' the days to that game. I'll have the money by then.

It'll be the next game in my most favorite gaming series ever. (Besides the SSB series...They tie...) The direct sequel to my favorite IN that series, no less!

I have a feeling that this lil' Goomba chick and I will get along quite nicely, and Goombario was about my fav character in the first. He had so much dialogue and such that he grew on me as I got to know him quite well. Funny thing is that he has the most dialogue in the game, but only if you choose to extract it from him.

I like one of his comments in the desert.

Ya know, I always thought that a desert was just sand for miles and miles...But deserts have ROCKS, too. Whoohoo...

OH!

Hey, has anyone posted a link to IGN?

They have the most extensive coverage I've seen so far, along with roughly a half hour of footage from the game. They've been playing the Japanese version.

http://cube.ign.com/articles/534/534096p1.html

Yea...Lots of screens, and lots of movies, people. Get ready to drool, Paper Mario fans.

The 'Paper' aspect is MUCH heavier in this one, as you guys seem to have found out. Folding into planes, slipping through cracks and rolling around as a paper tube...

But check out that link, you'll be happy you did.

The game also seems to have lots of appearences from other Mario games...

What I mean is that it seems like the cast of creatures in this one may top off any other Mario out there. We've even got those freaks from Isle Delfino!

All I can say is... wow. The animation is really smooth... and everything is so bright and colorful.

Ill bring more news if I can get to play it next time I go there

And Destiny Smasher... those weirdos from Isle Delphino are piantas
