| Janus: "Of course I can! If it's not safe up here, I'll just have to head downward, where everything's properly grounded! Ha, get it? Grounded?" Janus leaps into the air and begins spinning the front end of his hammer rapidly, so that the hammer becomes like a lightning fast, efficient drill. He then shoots into the ground, slicing clean through it and drilling a neat hole for him to dig through. Maneuvering underground as though it were water, Janus suddenly spikes upward directly beneath Schwa, bursting out of the ground to attack him! (thinking)'Schwa, if you can hear this, just remember that you've got to dodge those bolts, too! I doubt they're made of the same energy you exhibit, and even if they are that's still some powerful stuff if it can make holes in the ground like that! I'd best be careful, you might end up getting seriously hurt if you're not careful...' |

| OOC: The top Schwa's hovering over is shooting lightning bolts downward, so he can't really be hit by them unless they were reflected or something. Schwa focuses for a moment, and right before Janus plummets into him a lightning bolt is fired from the bottom of the top, straight into Janus. "I can also direct the direction of the bolts if I focus them," Schwa comments. "Hey, just what are you trying to pull? Drain my mana by workin' me too hard?" |

| A direct hit! Janus gets well shocked, and his clothes appear a bit singed when he finally gets off of the ground. Janus: "Hey, you're the one firing lightning bolts... Mind turning that thing off? It's not so much that it burns my skin as it is I'd like to make sure my hat isn't set on fire or anything... Of course, if you'd rather not, I'll just take to the skies..." A high flying leap later, Janus is at Schwa's level, hanging from his floating hammer. "So I can't exactly touch the ground anymore, can I? Not if I don't want those lightning bolts burning me to a crisp, anyway. Well, whatever..." Suddenly, Janus positions himself above Schwa and begins to fall, turning his fall into an overhead strike with his hammer! "This shouldn't be TOO hard to dodge..." |

| "Bank hover!" Schwa commands the top. It flies to the side and tilts at a 45 degree angle. Then it fires a barrage of lightning bolts out of the side (which is pointing upward at 45 degrees), trying to hit Janus. But since Janus is coming from straight above, Schwa has to move far enough away in order to get any hits in. "Whoa! Janus, this is awesome, standing on this tilted platform with the ground way below... Even though I'm levitating a few inches above it, it's still tripped out!" |

| The hammer is immediately drawn into a hover, as the barrage of lightning bolts passes underneath it. Janus barely maintains his grip and watches as his shoe's rubber sole is singed by a passing bolt, the hammer flying him upwards and out of the way of the blasts. Janus: "Whoo, you got that right! The view from here's a little crazy itself. Guess I better switch sides!" Mounting his hammer like a broomstick, Janus zooms to the other side of Schwa, and suddenly drops down to the ground! His hammer appears to have stopped functioning in his favor, but then halfway through the drop, Janus comes to a complete stop (to cushion the rest of his fall), and hurls the hammer spinning straight at Schwa! As he drops to the ground, Janus prepares to pull the hammer back toward him, should Schwa dodge it. |

| "Oh boy, here it comes," Schwa says through clenched teeth. "I was hoping I wouldn't need to do this... I'm kinda scared of heights... sometimes... Okay, here goes! Thunder Slash!!!" (echo effects) Schwa sets his feet against the top, launching it away. Schwa begins to fall as the top streaks toward the hammer. The force of the fired top should knock the hammer back to Janus if it hits, and either way the top moves back to Schwa to catch him in midair. "Please let it be a hit... pleasepleaseplease..." Schwa whispers. His aiming was pretty good, but nobody's perfect, and Schwa has no idea if Janus has any more tricks with the hammer up his sleeve... |

| With a wave of his hand, Janus' hammer suddenly dips on its arc, still spinning, below the path of the top. It races towards Schwa, dipping lower and lower as Schwa falls... And catches him neatly on top of the hammer. Janus: "Not bad, not bad at all." The hammer lets Schwa off at the ground, and immediately begins moving back to Janus, who dashes towards Schwa, catching the hammer and delivering his next strike, a diagonally downward slash to Schwa's right shoulder. "Next!" |

| "Augh!" Schwa crouches to reduce damage. He's shocked by what happened with the hammer catching him; he honestly didn't expect that. When the hammer hits him, though, something incredible happens. Schwa lights up with electricity for a brief second, shocking Janus through the hammer! In awe, Schwa gets up and stares at his hands. They still crackle with sparks, but they suddenly die down. "Oh crap. I just used electricity. Sorry, Janus, that's not supposed to happen. Whenever I let fear overcome me, the electricity comes out. It was a small sacrifice I had to make to an Oracle a long time ago to learn a new move." He rubs his shoulder; obviously he took a hit after all. "Okay, I'm calm now. Which is good, because it means I can actually fight." Without warning he attacks. Schwa does a frontflip over Janus, firing a sphere of psi energy down at him while in midair, then does a second frontflip to get away from Janus and his hammer. "Beat that!" Then Schwa thinks to himself, "He probably will beat it." |

| Janus tries bringing his hammer up for a parry, hoping to bat the psi sphere away from him, but cannot make it in time. The sphere hits him directly in the head, and he falls hard to the ground. Janus: "Damn, I should've dodged that instead of trying to block it..." Getting up and rubbing his head, tries to shake off the shock of the psionic attack, only to find that he now has a throbbing headache. "Irony, I guess. This'll hurt in the morning." Speaking of which, Janus is beginning to see the tips of the sun rising on the horizon. It appears as though the fight has gone on for longer than he'd expect. "Hmm... Hey, Schwa, what say we keep this going until sunrise, eh? It's a draw if we're both still standing by then, but whoever goes down first loses otherwise! Fair enough? After all, this is only a friendly duel... No need to get life threatening, here." |

| Janus: "Hardly, it's just that this is supposed to be a sparring match, I'm afraid if it goes on for TOO long, you're gonna start using something that's actually dangerous against me." Immediately conjured in Janus' mind are images he's only heard legends about, times when Schwa's really unleashed his power on someone. It was why he challenged Schwa tonight, but considering the time he was having with him already, he wasn't sure if he could take some of Schwa's more advanced abilities... "But if you wish, this can go on for as long as you like. I've got nowhere to go, anyway..." A bit listless in his movements, Janus jumps toward Schwa for another overhead strike. Right before impact, however, Janus suddenly switches direction, going into a whirling horizontal strike, for another feint! |

| At the last second, Schwa acts. "Hyia!" Schwa's arms cloak in ether and move to his side, deflecting the blow barely. "Yeah! I knew you'd be going for a fakeout, I could see it in your eyes." Schwa counterattacks with a trio of close-range energy rings before Janus can get too far back. "I have a rule for sparring matches, Janus. I always use Etheral Mending on my opponent after the battle is over. That restores him or her to full health. I do that no matter who wins. It's just good sportsmanship. Besides, sparring is indeed a dangerous sport. It's supposed to be; the only difference from real battle is sparring is friendly. Someday, you'll see me at full power, I can tell. That day won't be today, but just wait. Psi warriors have the mightiest true power of all. "And I can't wait to see yours, either.  I can tell that you've got a mighty ability somewhere inside you, and it hasn't failed you yet, has it?" |

| Not quite moving his hammer in time for a block, Janus is knocked back by the rings, which serve only to add to his already growing headache. It's getting a bit hard for him to concentrate by now. Still, he looks to Schwa, not revealing a weakness. Janus: "I've only got one, but it unlocks a bevy of interesting scenarios. In fact, I think I may give you a taste of it now, just for kicks. Remember, Schwa, no matter how strong you may be, if your opponent can outwit you you've already lost! That's why I try to think with unorthodox strategies, it keeps my foes on their toes!" Again, Janus runs at Schwa, this time trying a new technique. He throws his hammer at Schwa, and as it follows the spinning arc Janus sends it on, Janus speeds forward, grabbing his hammer as it spins. Rolling into the arc, he springs into the air and becomes like a whirling saw blade, spinning vertically around and straight at Schwa. "Tactical Modification!!!" |

| "And I do like your strategies. Not only does it keep me on my toes, it allows me to gain experience in battling against unexpected conditions." Schwa stands in front of the vertical cyclone, figuring out a way to defend himself and possibly counterattack. He figures out the answer and uses a technique. "Gyrowell!" Schwa thrusts his ether-coated fists in the air, and blue ether pours out of them and forms into a large ball above Schwa. The ball of blue then starts emitting quick pulses of light and electricity currents, having transformed into an artificial gravity well. Schwa points to the side and the gravwell is flung in front of Schwa and a little to the left. "This will throw off your balance once you get close enough. The Gyrowell pulls everything but me towards it a slight bit, the perfect way to throw off the balance of tricky formations, especially in midair where there's no friction. Have a nice trip, Janus." Schwa stands back for this one. |

| Janus: "Yikes!" As he approaches the Gyrowell's gravitational pull, Janus instantly releases his hammer, sending it flying at Schwa. He somersaults along the ground a bit, impressed at Schwa's ability to keep up with his techniques. However, at the same time, Janus keeps his distance from the Gyrowell, knowing full well from the tales he's heard of Schwa what this attack can do. But suddenly, before the hammer hits Schwa, Janus gets an idea. Recalling his hammer, Janus converts it back to its bag form, hits a small clasp on it, and opens one of the pouches. He draws from the pouch a near-endless supply of blank CDs, hurling them all into the Gyrowell. They're light enough to be pulled into the well's center, but over time, all those CDs (and we're talking literal thousands here) will add up... "Schwa, you made a mistake. If I keep adding to the weight of your Gyrowell, it'll keep on increasing its pull, correct? Eventually, the well will detonate, and I don't think we want to know what will happen then. I'm sure even you can't control its power when it does. But of course, I'll keep adding to it anyway, just in case you decide to smarten up and stop it from exploding..." |

| "So you've heard about my technique. Brilliant," Schwa says after have read Janus's mind again, learning that Janus has heard of Gyrowell before. "However, you didn't learn about this one. Gyrowell, switch to a Pulsewell!" As Schwa says this, the well changes it's pattern. Instead of pulling in objects, it pushes them away. This means it pushes the CD's away from the center... in midair. This turns them into flying projectiles, all aimed at Janus (since they were thrown into the well from Janus's position, they're thrown back toward the same position). Some even go astray, and Schwa crouches in case he's hit by any stray CDs. "And the great part about Pulsewell is it'll still throw you off balance. I've loved this ever since I learned how to do it, but the down side is that it costs more of my mana to control. Speaking of that... I'm running low. I should probably do something about that soon. Well, running low on mana is just what I get for sparring with a great, honorable fighter! Oh, by the way, Gyrowell only absorbs energy attacks. CDs wouldn't make it any less stable, I just switched it so I could launch your attacks back at you. " |

OOC: In your fights against Dracoon and Kornfan, it sucked in more than just energy... The well would also have to suck in some material form in order to disrupt my spinning attack, so I sorta figured that might work... And you did say everything, but I guess that really doesn't matter since you just reversed the flow, right?  Janus opens the main pouch on his bag, and watches as the discs fly back into the mystical holding device, which didn't seem to have a bottom to it... He zips his bag back up, and looks down on it with an exasperated look on his face. He hadn't expected a new technique, to be honest. Janus: "Thanks for the compliment, your use of intelligent fighting is quite commendable, as well. I can tell you, it's gonna take a long time for me to get all those blank discs out of here. They're not supposed to go in here, you know. Makes searching for the right disc even harder to do. Ah, well. It's better than being cut to ribbons." All this time, Janus still has yet to notice that he's being pushed away by the Pulsewell. He suddenly notices, and gets another idea. "Alright, then, if you're low on mana, what say we divert away from techniques for awhile while you recharge, hm? Try this on for size!" Janus reforms his hammer, and hurls it straight at the Pulsewell, hoping the push will be strong enough. As it approaches the center of the well, he changes its direction, using the added force of the Pulsewell to slingshot it straight at Schwa, with increased speed and force. "I wonder, will this work?" |

| OOC: It does suck in everything, but material matter is just locked in the center. Energy, on the other hand, becomes a part of the well. That makes it a tiny more unstable, and when it adds up enough, the well explodes on it's own with force 10x stronger than if Schwa were to detonate it. Schwa stares at the wild, flying hammer. "What in the--" That's the only thought he gets in before WHAM! Schwa is suddenly attached to the hammer and is flying through the air. However, a closer look shows that Schwa is entirely coated in blue ether. This probably means he was able to deflect some of the damage, but at that velocity, who knows? "Ahh! Time to get this thing off!" Schwa focuses and the ether flares up brilliantly, knocking the hammer out of his side. Schwa lands on the ground but gets up. He still has some fight left in him, amazingly. "Janus, I don't have a lot of mana left. I'm using the last of it to get help. Ready? .... Okay! Summon Air Elemental!!!" (echo effects) Schwa's ether turns white as Schwa thrusts his hands into the air. White ether flies into the air and swirls around brilliantly. After about 8 seconds, the ether flies down and forms into a small, white tornado, about 1.5 times as big as Schwa. "This will keep you busy while I restore some of my mana, which I'll begin soon." |

| Janus: "That looks like it hurt a little bit... Fortunately, tornadoes are something I can deal with." Janus recalls his hammer, thankful that Schwa let go of it for him. "If my original tornado wasn't enough, then I guess I could just modify it a bit!" Janus spins into his tornado technique, making it faster than it was before, and spins it in the opposite direction of the white whirlwind. Hoping to neutralize the air elemental, Janus leaps out of the tornado, again hammerless, and sends it flying at the air elemental! While this happens, he rushes to Schwa, executing a sliding tackle, hoping to knock him off his feet. "Though I'll lose the use of my hammer from this point, so long as that tornado keeps colliding with your air elemental, it should pose as much of a threat as you think. Without my hammer, do you really think you need mana to defeat me anyway?" |

| Having no psi energy at the moment to deflect the tackle, Schwa takes the tackle but throws Janus backward after hitting the ground and tumbling once. Schwa then frontflips twice to get away from Janus. He watches Janus's tornado speed toward his elemental. "Get back," Schwa orders, and the elemental dodges to the side and moves next to Schwa. "Now it's time for me to regain my mana... and I dare you to attack me while I do it." Schwa lays down on the ground, facing up and holding still. "Vines of Photosynthesis!!!" (echo effects) As Schwa orders the technique, several glowing, blue vines erupt out of the ground all around Schwa. They move on their own, like a pile of worms, and entangle Schwa so he can't move. The elemental stays close to protect Schwa as this happens. After Schwa is entangled, the vines begin to emit electric currents. Schwa seems motionless, but calm. "Being in my shoes would freak out little kids right about now. But hey, this is a very reliable move. I can already feel my spiritual energy coming back to me." The vines seem to be returning mana to Schwa. |
