| Janus: "I can name a million that could stomp you into the ground, so why bother challenging them? None of them would accept anyway. Perhaps you should instead seek one out. It'd certainly give you a chance to brush up on your fighting techniques. By the way, are you still charging there? I should let you know that I am, too. But remember, I never said I'd attack you." | As the stars fly toward him, Janus grins. Janus: "Freeze it." The stars stop, the fires stop burning, the wind stops blowing, it all stops, all of it, for one instant in time. Another instant later, time resumes in Dameon's perspective, only Janus is gone, suddenly behind Dameon, and unharmed by the stars that did not hit him. "Finally, a chance to really use my abilities. You see, I was charging alongside you, as I stated before. But my charge was a rather interesting one. As an anthropomorphic personification (read: one who is brought into existence by the will and belief of others), I naturally need to be in many, many places at once. The only solution to this problem is to be able to stop time. I call it Sidestepping. I step outside the flow of time, move to where I need to be, step back in. It's fairly easy, and I used to be able to do it all the time. Unfortunately, ever since I quit my old job, it seems as though my abilities pertaining to it have grown considerably weaker, and it does require a great deal of concentration to hold. So congratulations, you've just seen an ability that I rarely use, and rarely can use." Janus readies his hammer, brings it in front of him into a two handed guard position, and smiles at Dameon. "Melee training, on the other hand, is much farther up my alley. So come at me, if you wish to learn!" OOC: You seem to already have, so go right on ahead. |

| Dameon wondering how he just did that stops his attack and asks Janus a question. "How did you do that? And can you teach me?" Dameon now readies his swords and dashes at Janus, with the help of magic to give great speed, and begins to slash. While slashing at Janus one of Dameon's abilities activates and it ends up with Dameon going into a sword combo. "HAH! Cutless Fury." OOC: thanks for helping me. |

| Janus: "Bad idea, buddy." Janus, having played Skies of Arcadia Legends, figures out the perfect counterattack for Dameon's maneuver. He dashes forward, hammer in one hand, the staff inside his bag in another, and parries every move Dameon uses, in an exact mirror combo (a la Vize's mimicking Vyse's attacks)! "Cutlass Wrath!" Janus backflips away from Dameon, still a bit confused as to how he did that without any actual cutlasses... He doesn't let it bother him, and explains his previous defensive technique. "It's simple, friend. I don't exactly exist within the normal flow of time. As I said, I'm not a normal human, I'm an anthropomorphic personification. I was brought into being by the need of others for a representative for their habits. Whenever someone says to thank the gaming gods, they, up until a relatively recent point, were speaking to me. Being a demigod gives someone a certain degree of power, which I lost most of by quitting my old job. But the residue from such a large amount of power in the past does give some fringe benefits. I can travel through time at will, and even freeze its flow for a short time, provided I concentrate really hard. Naturally while time is frozen I can't affect anything in the real world, but it's pretty handy for giving me some extra time to think about stuff, or in this case to move out of the way of "unavoidable" attacks. But since I really dislike fighting, I tend not to bring this into combat, you just seemed a bit TOO threatening at the time. If it helps, I can guarantee I probably won't be able to do something like that again for a good bit, it takes it out of me. Also, it's not exactly something I can teach, it's more of a side effect, really..." Janus readies himself for Dameon's next assault. Considering the intricacies of Dameon's previous strike, Janus is beginning to wonder who the real teacher is here... |

| Dameon, Desides to resheath one of his mystic swords, since one of his arms is getting tired. Dameon thinks back to his original training and figures out how he can hit his opponent. Dameon, after resting for a while, brings back out his sword and slashes blaintly at his opponent Janus. Predicting a counter, Dameon throws one sword into Janus's hammer nailing the handle and sending it into a wall. "I finally remembered my training. Thankyou!" |

| OOC: Dude, you're controlling my attacks. Except they aren't your attacks, they're my attacks. Second, the handle of my hammer isn't thick enough to be pierced by a sword. Third, I don't see how you can throw a sword at melee range. Could you please explain the attacks a bit more? | |||

| OOC: I still fail to see how, and I never said I countered, which means that you wouldn't exactly have the opportunity to nail my hammer to a wall. Not only that, but there are no walls in this arena, it's an open field in a jungle. I'll keep my hammer, thank you. Simple parries followed Dameon's blind slashes, as Janus begins to look a bit bored. Janus: "You know, for all this "Training" you claim to have done, it doesn't seem like you're coming up with anything original. That's the problem with training, though you get better at what you know, you never learn anything new." Finally, Janus does go for a counter, raising his hammer above his head for a downward slash. He shifts his wrists just slightly to the left and watches as Dameon's second sword flies past his head, and in turn past the handle of his hammer. Janus then follows up with a quick downward slash, bushido-style. "I think I'll start actually attacking now." |

| OOC: My first post states that we are in a tunnel... Dameon, thinking his opponent would fall into it, stabs at his opponents chest. Since you are preoccupied with your attack. Dameon, decideing to dodge, steps back, after stabbing the very open chest, and has his sword come back and stay right in front of Janus in such a way that If Janus finishes his attack that his arms will be cut off, and if he moves forward that he will get cut... "Bring it on." |

| OOC: what about my stab to your chest? Dameon realizing that he was going to be hit has his sword fly into the tornado, you'll see in a minute. All of a sudden everything goes slow motion, as if on the matrix, Dameon jumps straight up and begins to fly out of the way. Right as he jumped he sent his sword out of the tornado and it shot directly at Janus, the sword was spinning of corse so Dameon used his magic within the blade to straighten it out, The speed of the sword was so great that the sword was almost invisable. "Bring it on..." |

| OOC: Stabs to the chest are straight forward attacks, if I move to the side that constitutes a dodge. Obviously I couldn't complete my attack, so I sacrificed an attack on you to save my chest. Dameon appears to have forgotten that Janus' hammer was inside the tornado as well, keeping it intact. The hammer bats the sword out of the way as it flies inside, still spinning around. Suddenly, the tornado stops, Janus lunges forward to grab his hammer, and jumps upward parallel to Dameon, delivering an upward slice followed by a downward smash! As a side note, dodging in the air is relatively difficult, and from what you appear to be doing, you don't have a weapon to parry with. Good luck thinking your way out of this one. | As Janus is coming up Dameon throws two daggers and brings his swords up to him as he falls staight down. When he is right above the incoming hammer attack he kicks Janus's head pushing him down and sending Dameon up... "That is my job." |

| Janus immediately adopts an offensive and defensive stance, spinning into his tornado technique the instant he sees Dameon throwing his daggers. The daggers are swatted away as Janus spins, and Dameon's kick to the head is stopped by the force of the wind that Janus emits. Unless Dameon can fly, both fighters are falling, as opposed to just Janus. As he falls, Janus turns his tornado downward and screams into the earth, kicking up a wall of dirt headed straight for Dameon. "Earthquake Diver!" |

| Dameon is unable to see anything becase of the dust. But he falls barely to the right of the attack tht was done to him. Dameon hits the ground hard. The angle that he hit at hurt his right arm and shoulder. Dameon pulls potion from his sash and drinks it. The potion was a potion of half life. Effect of potion: Returns person who drinks it's life up by half of his original attack. Dameon is now at 80% strength. |

| Janus blazes upward from the earth and rears back in midair... Janus: "Hammer Throw!" Winding up for a split second, Janus lets his hammer go flying at Dameon, not letting up on his assault. As he lands, he runs toward Dameon hoping to catch his hammer and take a second swing at Dameon, assuming his first attack doesn't miss. |

| "Hahahahaha." "I activate Ion Barrier." A blue sheild comes up and reflects Janus's attack right back at him, but since Janus moved his hammer was sent away. Dameon grabs his sword and dashes, by using magic, at Janus and stabs. |

| OOC: An ion is an atom that has acquired a net electric charge by gaining or losing electrions. Considering most ionic reactions occur on the subatomic level, they really won't make a very effective shield. Also, what element are we talking about here? There's no such thing as an "Ion" in its raw form, you need an element to attach the ion to. Frontflipping over Dameon's foolhardy rush, Janus recalls his hammer as he lands and swings it at Dameon's back. |
