Has there ever been a moment in a video game that just made you say "What the hell?! That shouldn't work at all..." The only one I can think of right now was in Front Mission 3. Emma used inflatable wanzers and tanks to distract the enemies. Why doesn't that make sense? This game takes place somewhere around 2112, and sensor technology isn't good enough to know the difference between inflatable wanzers and real ones?! Apparently not, since it actually worked... Any other screwed up moments? |

Yes. I can't remember what game it was, but I fell into a lava pit, and it lead to a secret exit. That was pretty strange.

In Legend of Dragoon (if you haven't played it, then major spoilers to come), One of your character (which was transformed in his Dragoon form), is killed by the Dragon Buster, sword to kill dragons. Later in the game, you fight the guy who killed him and when you transform he attacks one of your character (and K.O him) but you can use an 'angel prayer' to bring him back into the fight. So why wouldn't you do that with the character I talked about at first? |

Definately the purpose of the ".............." that Synobios says in Shining Force III. Every line he spouts is just complete elipses. I see no reason why the development team felt that they couldn't give him any lines, and why they had to replace it with that (edited by Kasumi-Astra on 07-23-04 08:00 PM) |

The first time that happened... hm... Forget the game but the first time I had to walk through a fake wall. Maybe it was Duck Tales. But still, that shouldn't be. |

Kasumi-Astra: My friend thought so, too. And why don't the game says that Lord Jabu-Jabu eats cows?

Well in SM64, if you fall into the lava, instead of bubbling into a crisp, Mario flies into the air with a smoke trail behind him. I guess its Mario however, and the game of course needs to be fun and humorous. Mario is really based around bizarre logic, but I felt like stating a said instance.

I'm a pudgy Italian plumber who lives in Brooklyn, but got transported to a magical place where I have to battle a giant lizard, eating mushrooms makes me a giant, touching a flower makes me shoot fire, and a leaf makes me fly? Makes sense to me. |

I can do better. I'm a small blue robot that can absorb the powers of his enemies, jump extremely high underwater, fall down long shafts without suffering a scratch... and when I touch a spike I explode into a million pieces. |

In Donkey Kong, if you fall your own height you die. I've fallen 3x my own height and not injured myself at all. (It just hurt. ) Also, when Mario jumps into way-cold water in SM64, he acts as if it's really hot. And just about everything in the latest Pok |

I got two, first, playing Earthbound, last fight with Giygas starts. The song is 8 bit! But that's not the best part. The best part is 52 seconds into the song. For those unfamiliar with what I am talking about... a gift. Second, Final Fantasy VII... two things in the game, Meteor, and Sephiroth's summon "Supernova." I first address Meteor, the slowest moving object in existance! I also have a comic, but I forgot who made it. Now to Supernova, which ravages the good old Milky Way, wastes away Pluto, Jupiter, the Sun, which then destorys Mercury, and Venus. But... it approaches Earth, and only hits your characters for 98% of their current hit points... =p A big ol "wtf?!" --Edit-- Originally posted by Colleen You forgot to mention that if the little blue robot comes into contact with other robots, the little blue robot gets hurt, yet the one it came into contact with sustains no damage. RPGs are too weird anyway, you can summon lightning bolts, blaze walls, floods, different monsters ande even meteors ... but a hero/eine cannot open a wooden door without a key, meh |

Ok! *SPOILER* In Final Fantasy VI, when you find Shadow in the cave on the Veldt in the World of Ruin, he will turn into a she. "Let's carry HER to a save place" It was caused because Relm will lay there if Shadow dies on the Floating Continent". */SPOILER* In Prince of Persia 1, the whole freakin' castle doesn't have a way in or out? Even stranger, the door you jump out of at the start of the game. You can enter that room again using some secret way. So, whole level 1 is the "dungeon" you're thrown in? Then why did they left a sword there? *SPOILER* In Aidyn Chronicles, you've got some guy that turns against you later on in the game. Surprise you can still have him in your party by then. Meaning, you fight WITH him AGAINST him. */SPOILER* |
