Manics all the way! Like with Limp Bizkit, a few people will be wondering which band setup the Manics will be using, four piece with Richey, or three piece without him. Well, I'll aways think of the manics as a four piece, but you may as well vote either way, whichever you enjoy the most

Even though Jack Black is a Rock&Roll god, I have to go with the Manics on this one.

The Manics, obviously! Great music, and I (surprise, surprise) like their message (though they may be a bit too red for me sometimes). As for favorite MSP songs, I'm kinda boring, and pick their greatest hit, "If You Tolerate This Your Children Will Be Next". I normally don't go with the obvious choice, but in the Manics' case, I'll have to do it, that song is great.

Did they ever find Richey, by the way?

Z: Sadly not. There have been unconfirmed sightings, but weren't any use... If it indeed was him, he'd be long gone.

I believe he just wanted to disappear. They found his car next to the Severn Bridge (big-ass suspension bridge over the biggest esduery in England), but a body has never been found.

I think he did that on purpose... I truely believe he meant to mislead people and just disappear.

My favorites are Motorcycle Emptiness, Little Baby Nothing and Ifwhiteamericatoldthetruthforonedayitsworldwouldfallapart. All earlier ones, really.

It's really, really good to see people from around the world who listen to good British music like the Manics

IfWhiteAmericaToldTheTruthForOneDayItsWorldWouldFallApart is great. "There's not enough black in the Union Jack! There's too much white in the Stars and Stripes!"

I sat on a bus in Denmark, singing that song (I was listening to it on my discman). I think I may have sung it too loud though, because this one man looked at me kinda strangely.

My favorite is still If You Tolerate..., though. You know, I had a Great Uncle who went to Spain to fight against the fascists in the Spanish Civil War (which the song is about).

And I think you'd find that my musical tastes are extremely biased towards Britain. With the exception of my Nirvana, Beastie Boys, and U2 CDs, I own only British CDs (nope, no Norwegian CDs, either. This country hasn't produced anything worthwhile since "Take On Me" in 1985 ). There's just something about the British sound which makes it so much greater than the rest.

Manic Street Preachers are good. I enjoy their music more than I enjoys Tenacious D's.

But I'm voting for Tenacious D just to tie up the votes

Quite the opposite; most of their stuff is a bit on the political side. Its a bit of an 'apples and oranges' thing really.

The Manics are 4 Welsh boys who play politically laden britpop. They grew up in working-class families, and they experienced miner's strikes during their childhood, which influenced them into becoming socialists (or even almost communists). Thus, their music is very red. They are among the few western bands to have played on Cuba in recent years (Fidel Castro even showed up for their concert).

The band has had many big hits, their most popular is probably "If you tolerate this your children will be next" (here where I live in Norway, anyway, I don't know about Britain). They've also won many awards, such as "Best Band In The World Today" (Q Magazine, 1998).

It'd be an insult to great music not to vote Manics. Tenacious D is a good band, and entertaining, but they don't have nearly as many achievements as the Manics.

I defy you to go buy Generation Terrorists and the Holy Bible today!

I plead people not to vote to even up the vote... Just vote for the band you appreciate the most

I am positive that if people listened to a few Manics tracks, they'll vote for 'em
