According to Zophar, there is now a freeware version of NO$GBA So, can anyone confirm that this is true since I can't (i can't download stuff on this computer).

According to the NO$GBA author, the freeware version is for gamers...

Does it have linkcable support?
If so, I can finally play fourswords on my computer!

Other than that, it doesn't have the debugger, so it's of EXTREME little use for me.

Linking works! I just tested it with Mario super circuit... but only on one computer.

Yes it works, I tested Mario kart super circuit linking! And it goes fast too!

Wow. I thought for sure NO$GBA would never be released in a freeware (or even shareware) form again... This is surprising.

Now I need to get it onto my old Celeron 300 and see if it'll run games at full speed. Probably not but better than 40% I'm sure.

Great news for emulation - a choice between this and VBA.

VBA for the cheats and such
No$GBA for the speed and linkcable support.

VBA is definitely the compatible, fast and supportive emu of choice. Not quite clear on the link support for NO$GBA, It sounds cool, could you do that over a home-LAN or the internet, not just at the same computer?

If combatibility and speed is importand, nothing beats a No$ product. And the Linking is on only one PC.

So, gonna try the DOS-Version now, see it if works on my old Pentium.

Ok, I gotta try this one...if it supports linking it HAS to be good...

And I thought that VBA was the best GBA emulator until I read this...

"VBA for the cheats and such
No$GBA for the speed and linkcable support." Ok...maybe I use both of them, then...

No, just on the same computer.

The debugging feature is left out, all you can see if there are errors in the ROM. But not were they are...

You don't really need the debug support though. At least most people here shouldn't.

Some games don't work that well on it though - Mario Golf being a good example.

I like to play around with the ram and stuff. I can't unless I pay for it, which I'm not going to do, so other than the link support, I really have no reason to download this, since I already use VBA, which runs gba and gb (and FREE gbc) all in one.

On another note, I recommend NOT going to zophar.net without a popup blocker. I nearly got spyware from one of the ads.

Damn ads.

*loves having pop-up blocking and a huge blocked hosts file*

Drag: Like I said, MOST. As for ZD, dunno what happened there. They still seem like the kind of site that would try to get rid of that inconvenience.

Took a look at it...

So far the only inconvenience is that it crashed on trying to run Mario Golf - Advance Tour...and the fact that ZIPs kinda suck in trying to run...

But...for being so small...it runs hella fast. I was remaining at stable frameskip 0/1 on my 1.0 GHz P3 on Metroid Fusion. Slight variation with the graphic effects between it and VBA (i.e. try killing something in the game and watching an X-parasite come out of it...you'll see what I mean if you look between the two closely enough...).

Must be one hell of a job code-wise. NO$GBC was small too but... I would have expected maybe 100-150kb. This shatters that.

Kirby seems to run just fine on it. I really need to check my VBA sound settings, because NO$ is killing it.

Everything seems to run relatively faster, but maybe that's because it's a loss of a some compatibility (and as I said before, graphic effects)...but hey...sure does the job where it's needed and it helps out my old piece of crud...

Hey, that's cool. Even though I don't really support emulation of current consoles, this thing makes it possible for me to play 4 Swords, which I'd never be able to otherwise. *downloads*
