| More info here Well, the 8th season of SG-1 starts up tomrrow and from last season, I can say that it's been freaking too long.  Atlantis starts up the next Friday with their 1 hour opener and I'm a bit worries about this new spin-off. Guess we're gonna have to wait and see... |

I wonder when they'll get it translated so we can see it over here in Switzerland.  We're still watching the 6th season, if I'm not mistaken. I hope Atlantis is good, but I doubt it'll be "as good" as SG-1 was... but I'll give it a chance, no problem there. Btw, trivia fact about me: My wife and I met in a chatroom for SG-1 fans. |

... So... let me get this straight. You want to watch Atlantis because you've never seen SG-1? I'm sure SG-1 is on some channel here (Space?) but it originally was on Friday nights. I remember seeing a few episodes from Season 1. Then it got shuffled around the schedule ending up in the late night hours... and I promptly forgot about it. Actually saw an ad for Atlantis while watching the Olympic Trials on NBC tonight.  It looked OK, I guess... I might watch an episode if it airs here but I'm not a huge sci-fi nut. |

| *Looks at date of last post* Looks about right... anyway, I still can't believe they are bringing StarGate Atlantis out. I understand why: Spoiler: as in StarGate SG-1 they where looking for a place called Atlantis that was a super planet or something... basically Atlantis starts off with the StarGate team on that planet (they are no longer on earth) I only got up to the few last episodes of season 8 as they took StarGate SG-1 off air. I have seen pictures of the new Atlantis but I am unsure if it will be a success I used spoiler tags as I didn't want to give away anything for people who watch the show. |

| One of the reasons for the other team, is because the orginal cast of Stargate might not go for a 9th season, I mean this is their 8th year with the show, and Richard Dean Anderson has already said that this is his last year. The Atlantis team will be off of earth until Stargate is over, since they don't want two gates (and they really can't as storyline goes) on the same planet. |

| Season 8 was supposed to be the last of Stargate, the season ender was left so it could have been a finale episode, but also be carried on. I am pretty sure season 8 will be the last, They might spring for a season 9 but i am not totally sure it will be the entire cast like was said above. Atlantis is to...unpredictable and annoying in a way. Of course most sci-fi is theory or fantasy but there is still a slight way to predict whats going to happen. A tv show loses points if it's to preictable or totally impossible (aka. Star Trek Enterprise) Of course only 4 episodes have aired so it's to soon to make an assement, but i am pretty sure it will be 2 seasons max. |

| well personally i like the way season 8 is going so far, so if they make a movie make it at the end of season 8, but that would go alot further.....but i do wonder how they are going to make a movie, sure it will take place at the end of the series, but they probably wont want to chain it off the series to much, I know alot of people who have seen the movie but not the series, makeing a movie after a series is pretty difficult to make it right. |
