I hate spanish, english, and chemistry.

Q) When will I ever use spanish again in my lifetime?
A) Never! In the unlikely event I ever go to any spanish speaking country, I'll have forgotten by then, because I'm not going to keep up on my stupid reflexive verbs when I'm designing a bridge or something.

Q) What is the purpose of writing reflections on a stupid, POS portfolio?
A) None! There is ZERO point in me, writing about stuff I wrote ages ago. I don't remember it, and I'm going to lie through the whole thing. It won't help me write better, because 1) I don't care and 2) I'm not reflecting on something good like fiction, I'm writing on something I wrote about, IE yet another reflection. Which leads me to my next moronism
Q) Why are you in an honors english class John?
A) Because, I can write in the FICTION GENRE. Instead of utilizing the one stupid reason that I should be in that class, my creative abilites are in Max Radl's words "Like a thoroughbred pulling a milk cart." If given the opportunity I COULD WRITE A NOVEL, AND GET AN A+ IN ENGLISH. BUT NO, I'VE GOT A BETTER IDEA, LET'S MAKE OUR STUDENTS WRITE LOADS OF NOTHING, ABOUT NOBODIES.
EXAMPLE: WHAT WAS THE AUTHORS REASON FOR WRITING THIS? WELL GEE BOB, I'M NOT TOO SURE, MAYBE THAT'S BECAUSE I'M NOT THE AUTHOR, AND I HAVE NO IDEA WHY HE WOULD, ASIDE FROM THE FACT THAT HE MIGHT HAVE BEEN IN ENGLISH CLASS WITH NOTHING BETTER TO DO
Another stupid question I get asked again and again "What does so and so mean to you"
What I want to say: "Nothing. Not one GOD AWFUL THING."
What I have to say: "I think that this passage reflected Mark Twain's ability to compare and contrast american culture...."

I can't really badmouth chem that much, since I'm going to have to use it, but I think I got my ranting out of my system.

I just had to get that out there, anywhere....

I found gen chem (inorganic, like reactions and moles and the like) easy and sometimes fun (I don't know, I just enjoyed the fact that I always got titrations in lab as perfect as possible, the one time my TA was like "That isn't pink" and I said "Yes it is!" and he added another drop of acid and it turned deep pink

Anyway, yes, the school system does suck. But they're trying to get you to be independent thinkers (by saying "why do you think he did this" or "what are your feelings about X" they're trying to bring out creativity and expression). It's better than my fucking English classes were, where you HAD to write STUPID papers with RIDICULOUS topics they gave you using their stupid "CORE" sentences (IE: gerund followed by posessive, or something stupid like that)

I know I don't have it that bad, and chem can be fun, but not with my teacher, who I did not get into.
We're just getting into titration now, but I know it won't be fun.

We've done about 6 labs the entire year, none of them were paticularly fun.

With my english, I'm just so mad that I'm in honors for no reason.

I don't think like everyone else. I'm too cynical to participate. They can say stupid things that they pull out of their ass, like "why do you think he wrote this" and then they respond with total BS like "because he felt that man is a twisted mass of anger and rage"

When we did write fiction, guess what I got on that? A+

I used to get very good grades on my fiction as well, some of it was so funny... once I had an SNL skit with Bill Clinton, OJ Simpson, Monica Lewinsky, etc... it was a 96 or something (I had like 2 grammatical errors) but I didn't get to write fiction much past Jr High...

If you think YOU'RE cynical, wait until you get to the point where I'm at now. I REALLY hope, for your sake, you don't.

Hah, I dunno, I can get down with the best of them. And the thing is, I've just recently gotten good at fiction. In middle school, I was terrible with my narrative, but I refined it, and 9th grade was orgasmic in comparison to this year fiction wise. I had an A average in that class. No wonder we wrote fiction.

Extra Credit, if you identify what book I quoted from. It has the word Eagles in it. WW2 classic, a REALLY good book....

I wanted to be a writer until I was faced with this kind of bull-dookie. The problem is that in order to get the concept across to a large, or even a small class, the instructor has to hash it out with the lowest common denominator. So you wind up cramping your style just to answer some question that has nothing to do with *your* interpretation of what you've read and written. My solution is just to post , and if I feel like writing, I just go write. No one needs to see it, no one needs to judge it, and I don't need to jabber about what I read either.

Actually, I can write dissertation-style essays about a lot of subjects, especially whatever rant is on my mind at the moment, but I do pretty shitty with fiction these days.

Want a great book that is every english teacher's favorite, but NO ONE can figure out what it means, despite how good it is?
Cormac McCarthy's blood meridian

EDIT: I hate those grade-grubbing retards that pretend they are on exactly the same wavelength as the teacher. Watch how they nod the next time you're in class and you'll have a good laugh. It's like they all came off the same assembly line in the Barbie and Ken factory.

For whatever reason, that reminds me that I need to read The Slaughterhouse Five by that guy, Kurt Vonnegut.

And man, do I wish I could just post, that would be utopic ( a topic I had to write about )
