EDIT: The topic, its supposed to be "The Mario Legend - World Of Mystery Demo 2 (screenshots and demo)" . I forgot the "d" in "legend" ...end edit...

Hello...
I have decided to give you, the second demo of TLM - WOM.
It is a demo with 4 playable worlds. It has som custom blocks in it like animated hurt blocks, blocks that breaks when hit by a fireball, teleport blocks...
And it has EgGFX, some (but not much) from the exgfx workshop and some that I have made myself.
And it is a bit more difficult than the original SMW. just so you know...

Download here:
http://www.geocities.com/raptop_89/TheMarioLegendWorldofMystery.zip

And i suppose you want some screens?

A part of Castle #3.

I think this is the best level that I have ever made...

Same as above...

This level is also fun

I have ripped the GFX here myself, and it is from a NES game called Little Samson..

A cave level...

This is a part of Castle #4, the last level in this demo...

... so is this ...

... and this.

So, thats the screenshots i give you...

And if you find any bugs/glitches, let me know ok?
I know one, but I dont know how to fix it...
If you hit an animated hurtblock from "the down side" (dont know the real english word), like this...

while you are Super Mario, Fire Mario or Cape Mario, it will turn into an ?-block and you will get hurt...

And now, the link to the zip file (again) ....

OMG HIS MARIO IS GRAY... WHO CARES?

But in all reality, it can be fixed by using that grey palette... 3 I think it is, for the BG coloring

2nd shot.... why is the water hanging in midair

3rd shot, 4th shot... see nothing wrong here

5th, 6th,... ARGH.... why do people never put a left or right edge on their cave tilesets

7th, nothing wrong here

8th... AWESOME, A LEVEL THAT CHANGES MARIO TO THE RED X OF DOOM!

9th... I AM CONFUSED.... nice little maze there

10th... glitchy... cool

Kirby ATW:
It doesn't look good when the water is all the way down in that level...
And the cave, its ripped. It was like that in the original game..
And thats a glitch I can't fix. I just mentioned it so you (all of you) don't have to tell me about it...

Smallhacker:
I'll try to cange back to the "correct" colors before next demo/fullversion...

i may sound weird by saying this, but i see no real problem w/ status bar changing colors, i think it is a nice effect, using proper colors of course

now to the screen: in general nothing bad, but i really dont like the paletes and the bg at screen 4.

And screen #1 i really liked, the bg was very original .

The screens look ok.

1st: Nice Background.
2nd and 3rd: Looks good...
4th: See nothing special...
5th: An NES rip? Nice.
6th: If you have room in your graphics spot, please make some edges. I would recommend it, but since it is a rip and it looks like that in the game you ripped it from, than I won't complain. What game is it from?
7th: Ok...
8th: 0_o. What does the on and off switch do?
9th: Nice puzzle.
10th: Is it set to be like a question block? You should check that out, or the next block in the Map16. I am not sure though, as I have not used the block.

I will play through the hack and comment on it further.

2: Floating water?
3: Looks fine...
4: Nice palette.
5: Just doesn't look right...
6: Same as above
7: Okay.
8: Good.
9: Yes, yes...
10: The "white outline" looks a little too weird...

The cave level's layout looks nice. Castle #4 looks like a beast to get through. Can't wait for the full version.

Oh and the word you were looking for to replace "the down side" would be "underside".

On the cave levels, you don't have anything for a wall, it's just more ground... You need to at least have an outline for that. Anyway, the sixth screenshot has a status bar palette problem. Fix those things though, and everything looks quite nice. I'll get it after I get home from the fireworks display.

One word: Brilliant
I love the background tile-work on the forest and the new foregrounds!
It seemed like ages since I hacked SMW; I was never able to master the block editor, so I would say that any custom blocks whatsoever, is completely braggable.

I'm deathly curious what the purple "eyeball" blocks are supposed to do when you get all of them. I didn't notice anything special....

The brown "used" blocks need a little more "shading" or something. They look too plain currently.

Is there a reason for the No-Yoshi signs in Weird Cloud Land? As far as I can tell, there are no Yoshis, and the change in music in somewhat distracting.

The secret exit in the first level is absolutely evil. I love it !

The non-scrolling background in 1-4 is distracting. I'm not sure what to tell you, since it's a vertical level, but I had a little trouble judging some jumps with the background not moving.

As for the cave graphics, I think they look fine, with or without a "wall" for them. In fact, and I may be the only person to think so, but I think they'd look better without a special "wall" graphic for them. Something about it just looks right!
