| This is very tough choice for me personally, being a old school Nintendo-holic. But I also used to love the Genesis, quite possibly my second favorite system next to the Snes. Well this is a tough one, but, I remember I had a weird obsession with the Sonic the Hedgehog games for quite some time. But I grew up playing Mario ... I may wait for my vote, it's gonna be a close one. But this should get interesting.  |

| Mario focus on pure gameplay. Sonic focus on speed and looks. I prefer gameplay over looks. Guess who I chose? NOTE: The above comment is a bit harsh but that's true... Without his speed, Sonic doesn't look so cool... |

Without his speed, Sonic doesn't look so cool...  Never thought of it that way...  I myself am going to vote for Mario, due to the length in the games over Sonic games, more variaty, much better multiplayer, and well I grew up originally playing Mario. Not that Sonic is bad at all, but when it comes down to this, Mario is supreme. |

I grew up with the old Mario games and had an real NES and SNES, never had a sega and Sonic at the time until emulation became available way later on, so my vote goes directly to Mario.  |

| Mario, easily... I would say that on the old classic games... Both were about the same, because you did pretty much the same, just different character design... (Though, mario did have some of his fun powerups on the SNES)... But when it comes to 3D, MArio kicks Sonic's arse... 3d mario games involve exploration, using special moves, getting funky powerups... 3d sonic games, such as sonic Heroes, are basically 'Hold up on the D-pad, and time your jump and attack correctly' game... In my opinion, it doesn't deserve the 'platformer' status... So as you can probably tell now... I prefer Mario over Sonic  . |

Mario. I grew up with him and such. So why wouldn't I vote on him?  Super Mario 64 got an best game ever reward once. Mainly how unique it was back then. I have played Sonic, found the level layouts boring and repetive. |
