I'm looking into getting a new cell phone and some of these newfangled gadgets have the old classic FFI pre-installed: http://foma.nttdocomo.co.jp/english/i_mode/list/i_appli/comini_02_b.html They've got Dragon Quest (Dragon Warrior) and a bunch of other games too. Has anyone played this? Is it fun? You can also download it, but you have to pay Y500 (just over $4.00 US) per month per game, which is insanely expensive if you don't finish them quickly. I love these new phones, though, and really like this one: http://foma.nttdocomo.co.jp/english/terminal/cell/p900i/index.html Note that the screens are over 200 pixels wide, so all the old 8-bit games should be displayable! |

Bah, phones are for phoning. You want FF1 on the go, get a damn GBA. They're remaking it for it anyway. | |||

Uhm...it's porting it to another 'system'...sort of like how PS2 and and GCN and X-box sometimes do...it's getting a game well known throughout any console, I think it's an option and that it'll get used. Just wish US got the cell phone craze down a little more (as Japan)...it's a bit better than a few years ago but...this is definitely a sign that we're getting there. Next thing you know, someone'll be mashing out DDR steps on their cell with the cell's arrow keys or something. OH YEA I SO AAA'D PARANOiA SURVIVOR MAX ONI!...ON MY CELL PHONE! |

Rocking, the thing is that these little phone applications are a lot cheaper than GBA games. The problem is that you don't get to play them for very long. The phone I'm getting has FFI installed for free, so even if the quality is really low, it's no problem. But some of the other games seem fun. Ranko, there is a cell-phone DDR! It plays eurobeat-style music (four tunes in all) at various tempos and you have to hit the appropriate directional button in time with the notes. You get points dpeending on how far off you were from the actual timing. The only problem is that unless you're really, really tiny, you have to use your fingers instead of your feet. |
